Though the kick Y-35 launched at him was powerful, it certainly wasn't very fast. Watching everything as if it were in slow motion, he quite easily sidestepped the kick and as a reflex, instantly swung his sword at his exposed leg. He may not be able to penetrate the armor at his current strength level, but at least he would be able to dent it. |

I listened to the whole backwards audio clip thingies and it really just made me laugh. People are just taking these lyrics way too far, in my opinion. The only reason it sounds like 'satanic' message is well...it's just coincidence. When you think about it, the messages can mean anything. And besides, the words aren't that clear so you can't really be sure that it says what you think it says anyways. |

Xeo's right. Buying one of the PS2's greatest action games for just ten measly dollars is really an incredible deal. Devil May Cry redefined the action genre with its hardcore non stop action; bullets flying everywhere, swords, devillish monsters, and Trish (heh heh heh). And besides, Dante is one awesome character.

And the fact that the controls are much smoother and more responsive than that of Onimusha's really helps alot. The graphics can't compare with that of Ninja Gaiden as well as the insanely hard bosses in the first couple of levels. But I'm sure Devil May Cry 3 (the greatest comeback story on the PS2 of all time) more than makes up for that.

I honestly believe that not including Dante (or Trish) is the biggest mistake they could ever make....BIGGEST. I mean, c'mon...Dante is practically a legendary icon in console gaming. In fact, i honestly believe that Dante is one of Capcom's most cherished characters. He would fit quite well in this game.

I mean, if they could include him in Shin Megami Tensei, they can most definitely include him here. But oh well.. All the characters, from what I can tell, are in Chibi mode when on the 'world' map and in the battle screen. This is starting to remind me of all the import Japanese RPGs we been seeing so much these days. Hopefully, they don't screw up on this one.

Damn. Oh well, at least the Legend's Tournament was the biggest Tournament ever conceived on an ACMLM (sp?) message board. We had like...20 participants in the beginning? We sure made it very far. And through two post wipes too. Not bad at all. Well, now that the Legend's Tournament is over, everyone else can proceed with whatever tournaments they want to make. You can perhaps expect to see a special 'custom' tournament from me in a couple of months. This can be closed. Thanks again to all those who participated.

Sparda could feel a incredibly powerful kick launch his sword backwards. He instantly tightened his grasp so that the sword was only knocked back, but not out of his grasp. Of course, this left him vulnerable to Y-35's slash. Fortunately for him, however, Y-35 was slashing at his waist rather than his chest. Since the dent on his armor was on his chest, the slash to his waist would have no effect on the mithril. As a result, the slash connected but no damage was taken for the Mithril Chain Mail stood strong against the blade of the sword.

Seeing as how the slash would not be effective at all, Sparda held up his left hand and launched Blast (without preperation) at Y-35's head at near point blank range. His Decimate may not have had much effect against his fierce opponent, but Blast definitely would. Plus, since this attack was launched while his opponent's slash was still occuring, dodging it would be almost impossible. Blast- Blast is a rather simple attack that can dish out quite a lot of damage and can be unleashed in such a quick manner that it seems almost instant. Sparda, gathering massive amounts of energy from all around him, concentrates it into one massive white orb. This massive orb, upon its completion, is launched instantly at the opponent. Though the blast is truly massive, 100 ft in diameter, it travels at a rather moderate speed. However, this made up by its amazing damaging ability. Since the Blast can neither be reflected, absorbed, nor changed in anyway, it makes for a very useful attack, despite its obvious speed disability. However, the longer Blast is charged up for, the faster it can travels. If the attack is unleashed without preparation, it travels at a slow-moderate speed. If it is prepared for for at least one turn, then it will travel at a speed 25% faster than it not being prepared at all. For each turn that it is prepared for, its speed will increase 25%. However, the transition from energy to orb to beam is almost instant, which makes interruption of this attack almost impossible. (Last edited by Sparda on 04-03-05 07:40 PM)

Watching the pathetic creatures attempting to pick a fight with him only made him more frustrated as he took his weapon and thrusted it into the ground. Using such a powerful blade against such weak minions would only be a waste of energy and time. After all, how could such small things stand against his own power?

A small wind picked up, blowing at his long spiked back black hair and his magnificent black cloak which somewhat concealed the black mithril armor and black leather pants he wore underneath. They were moving around, quite randomly really. Feeling the urge to destroy them in just one blow, Sparda immediately decided to use pyrokinesis. A small dome of a blazing red fire formed over him, its fires burning with great intensity. However, though this wasn't the best he would be able to conjur, it would definitely suffice. With just the merest thought, he unleashed the dome which expanded in all directions, in an attempt to slam the blazing fires at all three of the Pink Puffs with just a single hit. Surviving the impact was just one thing, but withstanding the flames was a whole different story.

Well you can probably have the option of turning off the ingame cutscenes with the special moves. I mean, in Final Fantasy X-2, you could choose to skip the Dress Change sequences or view a shorter version of it rather than the entire long thing. Perhaps it will be the same deal here? |

Though the grand city of Avalus was quite magnificent, Sparda couldn't say he was very much impressed. After all, Ulgath was much more beautiful though it lacked the futuristic assests that Avalus had. He was quite indifferent when he finally met his so called 'grand' trainer. He didn't seem much older than himself.

Nevertheless, he waited and listened to what the man was saying to him, as he began to remove his black cloak and dropping it to the ground, revealing the black mithril chain mail and black leather pants he wore underneath. Grasped somewhat loosely in his right hand was his massive sword, which only he could wield with such ease. It's blade extended to an amazing five and a half feet, boasting incredible cutting and slicing ability. The moment he heard the 'trainer' finish his sentence, that trainer became his enemy. And Sparda wasted absolutely no time showing that as he dashed forward the moment his opponent finished the word "me". Due to the length of his sword, he didn't have to get too close to the target to make contact. Therefore, standing just within swordplay range for his signature sword, he unleashed a powerful diagonal slash which started from his opponent's lower left side and ended at his upper right side. As soon as this was accomplished, Sparda used the momentum he had gained from the diagonal slash and used it to roll to the left. When this was done, his left hand shot forward and without any warning, unleashed Decimate at the right side of his trainer's chest. If successful, it would pierce the man's right lung. Decimate- This ability is a very unique ability and very deadly though it is lacking in some areas. Sparda shoots his hand forward with his index finger pointing at the opponent, or anything else. Using a combination of pure psyche energy as well as his own blood energy, Sparda unleashes a strictly non-elemental beam that is only a half a centimeter in width. Though it travels only in a perfect straight line, its power is devastating, literally able to penetrate anything and everything (except for very rare and extremely extraordinary occasions). The speed in which this thin beam travels is quite great, almost, but not exceeding that of the speed of sound. Deflecting this beam is virtually impossible due to the fact that it will basically penetrate the source of the deflection. Portals or vortexes are rendered useless due to the beam’s special ability to literally rip through them, though whiteholes are an exception (the strength of a whitehole can be calculated as 10 supernovas). This beam cannot be absorbed into something that is not living. If Decimate is absorbed into a being that is in fact living, meaning it can move and or breathe, it will instantly eat away at the opponent’s soul as well as the heart and brain. I'm just going to be very simple and blunt. Give it up. Everytime I hear that bullshit about how your dream will come true one day if you always hold on to it, I want to punch the person who said it. That's complete bullshit. Sometimes, people have to wake up to reality. And the harsh truth of reality is that nothing happens the way you want it to. You say you have a dream that you know will never come true? Well, give it up. Its not worth your time anymore. Move onto something else. Dreamers get nothing done. Only those who take action will accomplish something in their lives. A dream is just a dream, nothing more. Move on to another dream if it makes you feel better. It's pointless to stick with a dream you understand to be futile. Why waste your time on something that won't work when you could be spending time with something that could?

Sparda jumped back, creating a reasonable distance between him and his opponent. For an instant, his physical appearance seemed to fizzle like a television set receiving poor reception. However, though the cause was unknown, it disappeared and his silhoutte was as clear as day. His sword, still grasped loosely in his hand, seemed to give off a strance crimson aura, though in truth, the source of this aura was actually the palm of his right hand. Soon, his entire body seemed to be covered with this magnificent yet enigmatic aura as the energy levels of the warrior seemed to elevate greatly. What could he possibly be planning to use?

Once more, his silhouette and physical image seemed to fizzle and this time, it even appeared to fade away for just a second before reverting back to normal. What could that possibly mean?

Who or what gave you the inspiration to create your current simbattle/RP character?

Well, I originally based my character largely on Dante from Devil May Cry and Alucard from Hellsing (because they were just so cool) with a few original ideas here and there thrown into the mix. Yeah, watching Dante beat the crap out of the bad guys sure was incredible. So I wanted to create a character a lot like him. This was when I was a newbie of course. Anyways, I got tired of being uncreative. Therefore, I started work on an original character. However, in order to do that, I had to learn from the pros. I'm very proud to say that I got my ass kicked way back when on A-US by Artemis. I learned quite a lot from her. But I must say, I also learned and was inspired quite a lot by Cyro who was the first person I ever saw use complete and very descriptive paragraphs in his simbattle posts. Thus, I began to do the same. ChaoticDeath became Sparda. Finally, Kaijin came into the picture (or Inuyasha as he was originally called) on MoD. He inspired me to push my limits to the max, think tactically and manipulate words to my own advantage. I've gone a long way to get Sparda where he is right now. Learning from the pros sure has helped me get there. I say its been worth it. So what about you guys? Who inspired your original character? Who inspired you to make the changes and improvements on that character?

He listened silently to his opponent mentioning something about being able continue charging. Perhaps he should continue elevating his energy so that he could unleash something more devastating? But then again, Sparda wasn't interested in wasting his time. He wasn't exactly very comfortable being trained in the arts he already knew perfectly well. Wanting to get on with the next 'lesson', Sparda decided that his current charging period was more than enough. Thus, as soon as he was ready, he unleashed True Chaos Ver. 1

True Chaos 1- This is a very deadly technique in Sparda’s arsenal due to the fact that it requires very little time to prepare for and that it can inflict massive amounts of damage to the opponent. The entire sky is darkened and becomes distorted. Instantly, the sky rains with deadly burning ashes that can deal severe burns to an opponent, regardless of their immunity to fire. The ashes fall like hail, thus making evasion almost impossible. The cold has absolutely no effect against these burning ashes. The ground also begins to shake violently as ten enormous iron spikes shoot out from the ground, near where the opponent stands. It does not matter whether the opponent evades the spikes for their true purpose is not to be used as a thrusting weapon. The iron spikes gather massive amounts of energy in just a few moments and unleash an explosion 500,000 feet in diameter and 100,000 feet high. The explosions can not only deal massive damage to the opponent, it can also deal severe burns that deal lasting damage to the opponent throughout the battle as well as blinding the opponent temporarily due to the ultraviolet properties of the blast. This technique may not be used by anyone but Sparda. Absorbing it will cause instant death due to the ever changing properties of the blast. The iron spikes are actually unbreakable, due to foreign substance injected within the iron properties.
