No, this isn't about beastiality, but this is just about the cutest damned thing you'd ever see.
Unusual animal pairings I posted a while back about the hippo and the tortoise, but some of these are new to me and just so freakin' cute, especially the kitten with the hen and the dog with the ducklings. I actually giggled. |

I have been stuck in/near the mosh pit before and either ended up moving back (because pits usually piss me off) or stuck it out as the wall. I've only had to do the latter once and that was because I was seeing my boyfriend's friend's band and the area was so small (it was the Roxy on Sunset) that there was nothing, but the pit.
The most violent one I've seen was at an outdoor Bad Religion concert. People were walking by with their faces gashed open like it was nothing. (Last edited by Rogue on 08-07-06 03:19 AM) |

Originally posted by FX Well it's Lance Bass playing spin-the-bottle with 4 other guys and one girl, then spraying Bonaca already expecting something and it lands on Justin. I dunno, 5 guys willing to play spin-the-bottle with each other whether or not it's going to land on the girl? Sounds gay from all angles. |

Originally posted by Xeo-GM You wanna talk weird? I just laughed my ass off watching Kung Pow: Enter the Fist, and I usually hate stupid humor. Then again, one could classify something like Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back as stupid humor (which most of it is), but I love it to death, though mostly because I'm a HUGE Kevin Smith fan. But seriously Kung Pow was one of those movies that my friends who were fans of Dude, Where's My Car and all the Tom Green movies told me to stay away from and thought it was just too stupid. But back on topic, I dunno I mean I guess you'd have to list other movies for me to compare. If it were on the same level as The 40-Year-Old Virgin, I might go, but if it's a Nascar-version of Anchorman, I'll probably never see it 'til I'm at a friend's house and they suddenly go, "Oh hey, have you seen this yet? I just bought it," and show it. |

Originally posted by FX I KNEW his voice sounded familiar, especially since he voices all of the characters in Kung Pow. One of my best friends in high school was a big fan of Thumb Wars and had me watch some of it. I don't remember much, but the voices stuck. |

So it's been a little less than a month since my last input in this thread. Yes, I do have a new list and honestly this is something I just need to unload since my con run this past month. I'm still in the mode of coping, but pretty much finding myself playing more and more FFX.
Anyway, this month's list: - Dark Horse Comics. I love them to death, but they really irked me this past Comic-Con with their asshole booth workers with no remorse for their backwards signing schedule. If it says ticketed event, it means TICKETED event... not get the secret wrist band and slip the boothie $20 to get a sig from Yoshitaka Amano or Kazuo Koike. Or better yet, if you give out fliers that say that something is not a ticketed event, how 'bout you tell people when you decide to make it one rather than screw over hundreds of fans who will probably swear off your products? I can't stay mad at Dark Horse. They release a lot of great stuff, but this year was just a terrible year for the booth. It certainly made Image Comics and Oni Press shine all the more this year for me. - Zoso's younger brother. I've gone into his sister, now it's his brother's turn. Zoso: "Joey, when are you getting off the computer?" (He's been on it for 8 hours and the computer belongs to Zoso.) Joey: "I dunno." Zoso: "OK, I need it soon." Joey: "I'll see what I can do." 5 hours later... Zoso: "Are you getting off soon?" Joey: "I dunno." Joey is a 16-year-old high school drop-out who's supposed to be working on getting his GED, but is too busy trying to get his 19-year-old girlfriend to buy him a $2000 computer and spends much of the time rotting his brain playing computer games day-in and day-out, then acts like an inconsiderate prick to everyone else. He and I get along, but that's when he isn't eating something I brought over for Zoso, digging through my backpack for his next fandom/obsession, or asking for something outrageous from me or Zoso. Though I understand that it is his life. I don't like how he's become more and more of a burden to the family and acting like everyone owes him something while the family pities him for getting a so-called "tough break" in life. The kid needs to pull the silver spoon out of his ass. - Drug pushers. You're my friend, so please stop trying to get me to do something along with you to justify your own substance abuse. - Certain bank tellers at certain banks that start with the letter "W" and end with "ells Fargo." - Enough about Mel Gibson already! Jesus... heh, wrong time to blaspheme. |

That was the one that really made me giggle--the dog with the long line of duckies. It's so CUTE!!

Yeah, the koi fish and the dog is odd, but just so cute. Kinda reminds me of that movie about the dog and the dolphin.

Originally posted by Breehn Burns, Dr. Tran creator, in an e-mail If you haven't seen the animated short "Here Comes Dr. Tran," I suggest you look it up on YouTube or any other hosting site. It's pretty well-known and therefore easy to find. Anyway, this new Will Ferrell movie is supposed to be about a man's mundane life that suddenly gains a narrator that only he can hear. Coincidence? There isn't much information out on it yet. At the moment it's just joking speculation. (Last edited by Rogue on 08-09-06 03:22 AM)

Either way, if there's a scene where Will is suddenly wearing a 10-gallon hat and the narrator shouts, "Cowboy hat!" and Will looks up and shrieks, I am so breaking a kneecap. I don't care whose it is, but it's getting shattered. |

Originally posted by FXThat's the thing, though. You can't copyright an idea. That would be like copyrighting a word, although that seems to happening a lot these days. But no, from what I learned from editing magazines and so on, ideas are "stealable." Example: You can take a certain font that someone uses in a publication or a storyline twist that someone uses in a movie. These are all out in the open. It's just it would be rather annoying if these things were actually taken from Dr. Tran.

I'm amused that it actually looked into how many members we have.

WikiPedia, although a good starting reference, is just filled with busy-bodies. We'll see about this WikiXeogaming. Doesn't sound like a bad idea.

This has been out for a little while and has been picked up by IFC.

I like it... a lot. Before it had come out, I had gotten a freebie DVD at a convention last year that had the first two episodes on it. I pretty much fell for it pretty hard. It's an anime recreation of Akira Kurosawa's 1954 classic Seven Samurai which was paid homage to with the 1960 western The Magnificent Seven. Pretty much, the original heart is still there, but the story takes place in a modern, yet simpler time. A band of samurai come together to save oppressed farmers from modern war machines called Bandits (I'm not sure if it's people they're fighting or just machines, since I haven't seen that far into the series). Every time I try to catch an episode, since I don't have cable or satellite, it's usually at a con and they show everything out of synch so it's usually some random episode from the middle. Altogether, I'd say it's a great watch. Anyone have any opinions on it?

I've always wondered why people so freely wave this around as a defense for someone's behavior or unconventional appetites. Is saying that all people are entitled to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" really a valid argument for allowing people to not follow what the rest of the population humbly expect of them?
|
Afterall, it was originally "life, liberty, and property" that was the slogan. Moral relativism is, by definition, not holding any universal standard of behavior to an ethical dilemma. In a sense there are no ethical problems to a moral relativist. They believe that people can behave however way they please because they are free to and they can't force their morals (or lack there of) on others who have their own set of morals and ethics. Example: It is a generally held concept that if a person were to borrow money from another, they should ideally try to pay that money back right away. With a moral relativist, they can argue that they don't have to because they don't have any moral binding to do so. Or another example: Two teenagers of opposing Arabic tribes met and fell in love. Upon their being spotted in the streets, holding hands, they were forcefully taken away from each other--the girl brutally beaten and the boy's sister publicly raped to disgrace his family for his crime. A true moral relativist who were told this story would shrug and say that that's their religion and justice system and they should be able to do whatever they want. All right then... but here are the usual inconsistencies with moral relativists, they only say that other people have the right to "the pursuit of happiness" until it infringes on their life, liberty, or happiness. For example, if a moral relativist were robbed, they shouldn't call the police. Why? Why because they would (if they were a true moral relativist) believe that that was someone else's happiness to rob them and they can't force anything on that person or those people. So how many people think this "pursuit of happiness" thing holds any water? I mean, what if it someone's pursuit of happiness to bomb a school or go on a shooting rampage shouting at people as he tears do the street with a rifle, "Live! Live! Die!" and shooting whoever the barrel is pointed at on "Die!"? (Last edited by Rogue on 08-10-06 05:55 PM)
