***WARNING: This post contains "Shadow of the Colossus" spoilers***
It's odd how she was the butt of SOOOO many jokes and yet when she died suddenly everyone (outside of this board) has had nothing, but kind words to say for the gold-digger and would strike out at everyone who said boo about it. It's almost sickening, like the spurt of patriotism after 9/11. To be honest, I was more upset about Argo, the horse from "Shadow of the Colossus," dying off near the end of the game. I damn near cried over a virtual horse. How sad. P.S. The horse came back at the end. Just had a bum leg. (Last edited by Rogue on 02-11-07 12:03 AM) |

I know it's polite to be respectful when someone dies, but seriously if this is what we have to look forward to when co-tabloid favorite Paris Hilton or even Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan kick the bucket, I wouldn't be surprised if someone bombs any media outlets (no threats from me, just saying).
Seriously, the Fox network was the most shameful when it came to this. During an interview with Clint Eastwood about his movies Flags of Our Fathers and Letters to Iwo Jima, they started asking him what he thought of her. Um, what the fuck? I'm trying to understand how she's escalated to the compassionate fame in death of Lady Di or Mother Theresa. She wasn't a martyr. She wasn't a philanthropist. She didn't devote her life to the sick, dying and unfortunate. She was a media circus pity case. Sorry for the rant, but every few minutes or so there's some new report about it on TV, it's all over the papers here, and it keeps coming up in the forums and sites I visit online and I just had to release this here. By the way, there are some theories that this is all a smoke screen as they were awaiting the results of her daughter's paternity test. Some are suggesting that she's faking her death to escape some place with her daughter to avoid the paparazzi, since the only statements thus far have been coming from her lawyer/husband and all of the morgue and autopsy reports are coming up a mystery. Throwing this in for all the Valentine's Day folks out there. Yeah, Happy VD.
http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/story/496891p-418804c.html Again with these big lists that someone compiled claiming its the definitive and really coming off like they're just jerking off, figuratively speaking. Originally posted by NY Daily News Feel free to add ANY songs you feel should have been on the list, but were left out for reasons of taste according to some elitist critic. Also, please add the songs you get sappy about with other people. I'm actually very surprised Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love With You" wasn't on the list. Other songs I'd add: (EDIT: These aren't meant for serious adding, I just think they're great and added for my own preference. Obviously most wouldn't know who Poxy Boggards are. ) "Origin of Love" Hedwig and the Angry Inch "Remember Me" Poxy Boggards "Ring of Fire" Johnny Cash "Open Arms" Journey "If I Ever Leave This World Alive" Flogging Molly "Can't Help Falling in Love With You" (Duh!) "Looking for Trade" Shock Treatment soundtrack Ones I'd add because they're better than many of the things on the list: "Truly, Madly, Deeply" Savage Garden "I'm a Believer" The Monkees/Smashmouth "Kiss Me" Sixpence None the Richer (Last edited by Rogue on 02-13-07 06:45 PM) |

I thought of a few more I'd add, but slipped my mind yesterday when I posted this.
I'm just wondering how "Do You Believe in Magic?" is considered one of the greatest love songs of all time. Sure, this is just one list among the millions out there, but seriously? And while I always liked "Happy Together," I always thought it was meant to be more creepy than romantic. Serious additions from my preference: "Leaving on a Jet Plane" Peter, Paul and Mary "All Out of Love" Air Supply (It's cheesy, but WHY isn't it on there?!) "I Melt With You" Modern English "Maybe This Time" from Cabaret "Love Rollercoaster" Red Hot Chilipeppers "Accidentally in Love" Counting Crows "At the Beginning" from Anastasia (I had to sing this in a high school Valentine's Day play and kiss the guy singing it with me at the end. ) Other additions that I have, but probably wouldn't be considered serious: "Classic Rock Song" Stephen Lynch "Fuck Her Gently" Tenacious D "If I Were Gay" Stephen Lynch "My Mary Sweet" Poxy Boggards (Seriously, this one makes me go "AWWWW!!" every time about the ending) Ones I really was amazed weren't on the list. Some I like, but most are over played or just over the top cheesy: "Iris" Goo Goo Dolls "My Heart Will Go On" Celine Dion (UGH!! I despise this song, but really, why didn't it make the list with the others?) "When a Man Loves a Woman" Marvin Gaye "Baby I Love Your Way" Peter Frampton I'm sure there will be more soon when I remember them. (Last edited by Rogue on 02-14-07 06:10 PM) |

Happy Lupercalia. If only we could have men and boys running around naked in the streets like in ye days of olde.
I've never really celebrated Valentine's Day in the past, aside going to dinner with my parents. Today, went to school, hung out with my friend and her baby and we walked back to my house. The boyfriend person has been working all day, and will be heading straight to band practice after 'til 11 tonight. We might do something tonight. Don't know, we'll see. |

I could go either way, but it seems you can put those things in Crazy and they fit in just fine.
The main reason why that forum ceased to be was because of its rather low activity. It was only posted in maybe once a week on average just before the forum's demise. With the massive influx of video threads at the time, Tricks & Jokes was retired and Video Hut was created as Xeo didn't want any more forums than there were to clutter up the Anything and Everything Else category. I'm currently reading the second book in the Bloody Jack series. It's interesting how it went from sea epic to colonial gil's finishing school ala Anne of Avonlea (yes, I know, that's Canadian, but the same premise is there).
It's an interesting read, but little societal scrapes vastly pale in comparison to fights with pirates and other things like that. |

Pretty much there are an ungodly amount of music videos out there that people are posting around the Web all the time. Post any strange ones you find.

He says it isn't parody, but it's also not meant to be serious. Yeaaaaah.
Here's another that's not meant to be serious, but it's ridiculously popular here in L.A. Especially since Liam (the guy playing Kelly) likes to incorporate people and performers from around here. I'm not a fan; I just tend to be in the crowd when it's shown around aging hipsters, thus making it 40 times worse because it's relevant to them and they take it seriously: It's a sequel to this insanity: Yeah, I know most everyone has seen these, but they're just here to fill the void 'til I find other WTF? videos. |

That is pretty creepy.
By the title, I thought it was going to be a video of Steve O putting the fish hook through his cheek and going fishing as bate for sharks in Jackass 2. |

Heh, it's like Jackass, but as a talk show. Huh.
At our malls here, the security just hang out in a booth in the center of the mall and come when they're called... once in a while. If ever. Most of the time, they're more concerned with monitoring the parking lots. Seriously though, in high school, some guy slit his wrists and passed out in the middle of the mall and no one came to deal with him for an hour. |

Saw this a couple days ago and forgot to post it, but there it is. I personally think it tops their "Here It Goes Again" video.

So far this weekend's been pretty ho-hum. Voidcrush had another gig this last Friday. We had a party last night.
I should be doing my math homework, especially since there's a test on Tuesday and I'm a bit lost on the formulas, but I don't feel like it. Off to hang out with my friend and her baby. |

Well, now that the 4-day weekend (like it mattered, I don't have school on Fridays or Mondays anyway ) has sputtered out, the only other things I can remark on for the weekend was seeing "Borat" at the cheap theater (you must be joking if that was supposed to the funniest and most offensive movie out there. While it had its moments, it was WAY over-hyped) and finishing a mountain of homework.
Now just trying to get over that test I just took that unfortunately the homework was very ill in preparing me for. Oh and today, while trying to study in the cafeteria, just before the test, this Dixieland band struck up with New Orleans jazz music in celebration of Mardi Gras. Ran into Oni. |

Actually that one wasn't so entirely bad.
I was looking at the cat pinned up against the wall by the dog. Most of those are Shop'd, but that one just makes me sad. |

Oh my. Well, let's see.
Friends/People I know: Zabuza, Elara, WhiteRose, GuardianOni, VenomnousLobster, Pockets, Makura, Zoso (of course), Junkie (though he doesn't post here any more), Kittybob, Cryus, Captain Jack Sparrow, Dragonfly_003, FilterdSight, MurdockDeNoss, Abazaba, AngelBayB49, and Jake (can't remember what he called himself. Vampire something). I've also dated Lore Maxxum, who actually brought me to this board from another that we all used to post on. I've spoken to other members like Benja over the phone. If we could orchestrate a Xeogaming meet-up (probably at Xeo's place since he's smack-dab in the middle of the country ) that would be pretty sweet. Would be nice to meet my surrogate brothers Xeo, Kaijin, and Sparda. EDIT: Was going through the Memberlist to double check who's here and I forgot my friend Amy (Sakura) who posted on here once in a while, but hasn't since the wipe.
