It was 4 mm.

Still, not being an expert on tumors, myself, when my cousin (who's in the pharmaceutical industry) messaged me that, I lost my damn mind crying.

When my mom told me her biopsy was positive for malignant, my first reaction was to build her up. "You're gonna beat it, Mom!"

Then she asked, "Which is bigger? Millimeters or centimeters?"

I told her centimeters.

And then she goes, "Oh, okay. The doctor said it was 4 mm."

This made my heart rejoice. I'm patting her on the back in relief. "Oh hell yeah, Mom, you're going to kick its ass!! You've got this."

So when Brandon and I were heading out of town later that week for his grandma's birthday in Arizona, my cousin texted me that previously mentioned statement and I'm suddenly so upset and worried and calling my mom, who's having to reassure ME.

Fuck my anxiety so much.

And yes, I check myself (or rather, have Brandon do it because I get so easily concerned and upset over nothing.) Still, with the fact that my dad's mom died from it and my mom has battled it for years, I try not to think about that very real loaded shotgun pointed at my head. I'm such a hypochondriac on top of things.

I was born here and have lived here all my life, granted with A LOT of help from my parents.

Still, we're so surrounded by transplants, which is what's knocking the prices up so high. It's to the point that most people you encounter in L.A., itself, are from somewhere else (and I'm not talking Mexico or China.)

So, keeping on topic...

I'm happy Hawaiian Day went over so well at my center.

Happy both "Game of Thrones" and "Rick and Morty" are both back on. Sunday's the best night of the week.

Happy Mom and I spent the day at the Huntington together.

Happy my pumpkins have done well growing in the community garden.

Happy that when Tiki went missing for a little while, she came home.

Happy I was able to help a boy with heat exhaustion at Old Fort MacArthur Days.

Happy we got to spend time with family in Arizona (even if the temp was in the 120s.)

Maybe? I used to work with a lot of Macs in college, mainly 2003 through '08. I did use them in high school, but again I'm not sure. Any I used at university level through 2011 were too new.

We recently bought a used Mac off a friend, and I'm pretty sure that's also too new to be a PowerPC.

It's been stupid humid lately. Last week it was in the 80s, but felt like 90s because of the humidity being 85%.

We don't DO humidity here.

I have a few, but it also depends since several obscure movies I love are known within groups I hang out with.

One that usually no one knows is "Stiff Upper Lips," a parody of all those Ivory Merchant movies out there ("Room With a View," "Passage to India," etc.) I love this gag that's in there about the family making this guy carry around a chunk of their lawn in a crate on his back, and then when they want to have tea, he has to open the crate and lay out the lawn. It's a joke I frequently think about and reference whenever we go to tea.

"Shape of You" by Ed Sheeran is from some special kind of hell. Everyone -- but me -- seems to love it and it's been popping up EVERYWHERE almost literally EVERY DAY.

Seriously, went to see a Shakespeare-themed burlesque show in Hollywood and the girls, nearly naked, started singing "Shape of You."

The case manager at my center LOVES Ed Sheeran and finds amusement in my hate of how overplayed I think he is.

ALSO!!! Super hate how over-fucking-played "Despacito" is. One of my co-workers (who happens to be a straight Asian male) plays it off his phone every fucking day and it's on the radio almost every time I'm driving with the clients when I let them pick the station.

I didn't have cable as a kid, so I pretty much watched whatever network put on in the '90s on magical Saturday morning. Fox, probably. I volleyed between lots of channels.

After school, though, depending on the year I was either very loyal to Fox (for "X-Men," "The Tick," and "Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego," ABC (particularly when they had 1 Saturday morning with all the Disney shows, "Recess," "Pepperann," etc) or WB, which had "Tiny Toon Adventures" and "Animaniacs."

I was always a PBS kid, though. It was all about "Ghostwriter," "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?," "Bill Nye the Science Guy," and eventually "The Magic School Bus" and "Arthur."

Another trip to the urgent care today. Had really terrible pain in my abdomen all day yesterday that just kept getting worse and I wasn't able to sleep or get comfortable all last night.

Spent the entire morning at Kaiser waiting to get checked out, waiting to have blood drawn, waiting to get checked out again, and then waiting for prescriptions to get filled, etc. Doctor pretty much thinks it's the beginning of stomach flu, but I haven't had such bad pains before.

Anyway, the meds seem to be working, but I'm worried that without them the pain will just come back.

Sunday nights are goddamn awesome right now. New "Game of Thrones" AND "Rick and Morty."

I started a free trial of Hulu just because I felt like watching "Metalocalypse" from beginning to "end" and they're the only ones who have it. Well, Adult Swim has SOME episodes, but will only let you watch like 6 of them. Since I've got it I may as well watch "The Handmaid's Tale."

I'm genuinely concerned and at times terrified for the way this country is going, but I have so freaking much going on in my life to distract me, at least momentarily.

Mom is cancer-free!!!

If you like viking stories, it's quite good. The books are huge in appearance, but they read so fast. I've been getting them through the library on inter-library loans.

I actually haven't seen or read "Berserk," though I'd heard a lot of great talk about it from a friend many years ago.

Woo, quadruple posting!

I had four days in a row where I had to socialize with people. That's a lot to ask of an introvert.

Friday was my boss' birthday party and almost everyone got drunk and it was awkward coming in on Monday, especially after the way lots of people behaved. Anyway, that night I was super-late getting home to let my visitor from the UK in. I got a speech in front of my parents the next morning.

Saturday was a picnic with the Operations department for the cons I work.

Sunday, spent the whole day at Universal Studios, thanks to UK friend. Ended up getting a neighbor pass, I can come back any of the non-blacked out dates through May.

And then Monday, we had a get-together with Brandon's band, where we did the monthly Beer Dinner.

Spent Tuesday completely ill. I thought I was just hung over (which would not have been fair because I did not drink enough to get sick at the beer dinner), but the pain got worse and worse and I ended up not sleeping at all and having to spend most of the day in urgent care on Wednesday. The meds I'm on are helping combat abdominal spasms and such.

Anyway, I took a sick day last week and used that to do all sorts of errands and finally mail of the Save the Date cards. Still need to call the caterer we've decided to hire.

Happy that Mom is cancer-free!

Happy that I got to see lots of friends recently (even if so many days in a row socializing took a lot out of me.)

Happy I got to go to Universal and do all the things in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter for the first time, especially with friends.

I haven't used Firefox in... damn, how long has it been? Actually, I take that back. Occasionally I have to use my boyfriend's phone while he's driving and he uses it. I've just gotten so used to Chrome and what I can do with it that doesn't work in Firefox.

Grrrrrrrrreat. After all the stomach flu-ish bullshit, NOW I have a summer cold that settled in yesterday while I was reading Harry Potter to my clients. My throat suddenly felt like shit and I was constantly having to rub my nose.

It just never fucking ends.

Been reading the "Valerian and Laureline" series translated from its original French. It's what Luc Besson's new-ish movie, "Valerian," is based on. I'd actually been reading them before I discovered they'd made a movie, but they've actually been fairly daunting to get through, even though they're considerably short.

I mean, the illustrations are pretty great, but the stories are just not that absorbing for me.

Still, this series was coming out in the late '60s and early '70s. You can see A LOT of influence on "Star Wars" in the visuals.

Not being an MMA or boxing person, I guess meteor?

Honestly, my co-workers have been going on about this for a while, but I'd still rather see McGregor win.
