Hey, me from the past.

Bad news, we end up getting COVID during a trip. Someone removes our mask and breathes in our face for 20+ minutes during a massage while our eyes are covered. Yup, sucks, but it happens. Ends up spreading to Brandon and our Mom. Pretty much wrecks the vacation.

The good news is we survive. Thankfully we were all vaccinated and boosted (Mom double-boosted.)

- The cruise line from our vacation. I've written two consumer letters since Tuesday and still haven't heard back.

- Eh . . . I haven't watched a DVD in a fucking age. Apparently I wrote "Death Proof" when I filled this out two years ago, so that's probably it.

- Let's just go with reindeer sausage since that was every-fucking-where in Alaska.

- Alaska. Got back last week.

- I passed out and took a nap and had a really vivid dream I can't remember. It was another one about thinking there were more floors to my house than there are and wondering why I don't use all that space? Yeah, I don't fucking know either.

- Tried to put together a Christmas-y look for a thing during the Alaska trip.

- . . . More time with my cat. That's just the most recent thing. My dad also passed away in the last year. I miss him all the time.

- Spent Thanksgiving weekend with my cousin's family. My aunt went with us to Europe a few months ago.

- Walking around. But not for exercise.

- Just got back from Alaska. We went to Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina in May.

Yep. It kept happening to Rey, the former bass player from Brandon's first band. He would report the plate missing and then when cops ran his plate they'd pull their guns on him because they'd mistake the report for the whole damn car being stolen.

Happened to Bran and me once on our way into Arizona. The shitty car he got from a friend had a plate reported stolen, even though it was attached. *Shrugs* Cops pulled guns on us and everything right before we got to the Colorado River.

Total pain in the ass.


Fact: Even though I don't have COVID any more, my throat is still raspy and wheezing when I'm trying to lay in bed and just breathe. Taking Mucinex for it now.

Hm. I know I've heard some insane shit before, but my brain is not alerting me to them at the moment.

I mean, I've had all kinds of shit stolen. When we got our car broken into in San Francisco, they got our suitcase and camera. But the thing that we couldn't recover was my Haunted Mansion CM-exclusive tote bag that had a couple toiletries and a bag of cookies, one of them being half of a chocolate-covered macaroon in the shape of a penis.

OK, wait, just thought of something. Most WTF thing I've heard about getting stolen: Julia Pastrana.

So there was this woman, Julia Pastrana. She was an indigenous Mexican woman living with Hypertrichosis, which is the condition where a person has hair ALL OVER their body. Full face and everything. She also had very pronounced lips and brow and ended up being put on stage as "The Baboon Lady" among other things. He manager was a guy who married her just to keep showcasing her in sideshows. She had a baby with him and then she and the baby died. But then this asshole husband of hers had her and THEIR SON . . . TAXIDERMIED. So yeah, he's still dragging her around and putting her on display and in the meantime he married ANOTHER woman who was ALSO living with Hypertrichosis. At some point thieves broke in and vandalized the baby's body, which was then destroyed by rats and mice, and Julia's body was freaking stolen.

I first heard about this some years back while reading about sideshow acts, which is one of my weird interests. Fucking tragic.

Just got my second booster. Had to get the Pfizer one since there's been a chain shortage of Moderna. I opted to NOT get a flu shot with it, because I know how that took me out for three days.

It's been six hours so far and no ill effects. I probably just jinxed it, but *shrug*

Just watched the new "Hocus Pocus." Since it was more about the witches, I liked it, generally. Certainly more than the original when it came to the scenes that were just the kids. When it comes to the original, I can only watch scenes that have the Sanderson Sisters in them. The Omri Katz and Thora Birch stuff is unwatchable.

My FB is full of people bitching and moaning about the Rob Zombie "Munsters" movie as well. Apparently no Marilyn or Eddie Munster is a deal breaker for some people. It's a corny movie that has its moments, but yeah, it's just a fan-made prequel as far as I'm concerned.

That's actually a really good question because I'm a texture-eater. I might not like something, but if it's got a texture I like, I may end up eating all of it. There are TONS of foods I won't eat for texture reasons. Uhhhh . . . let's see. I can't stand boba. I just don't like the idea of something solid and chewy in my drink.

Hm, I love refried beans, but hate whole pinto or black beans. Chipotle bums me out. Conversely, I love apples, hate apple sauce. On that same vein, hate potato skins in my mashed potatoes (if they're made with russet potatoes. Red and yellow are fine.) I LOVE peaches, but can't STAND mushy ones. If I'm eating fish and find a bone, I'm not going to touch any more of it. I despise overly firm pasta, which I'm sure is making my Italian ancestors roll in their graves. And yeah, I can't stand most shellfish. I pick clams out of clam chowder.

Update: still haven't heard back from the cruise line.

Had to get tested last week, which is a novelty at this point. I'm glad I'm finally passing PCR tests again, because tracking down a free rapid place is a bitch. Happy I can just pop by my insurer to get this shit done.

Anyway, after months of staff and clients popping positives, suddenly we have to get tested for two weeks again after the latest one.
