Ah yeah, I forgot that at the old Sim Battle Board Tamarin had made a lottery type game. It was a number guessing game and was a bit easy to win. You could raise your current amount by a factor of 20 in just 30 minutes. I'm sure you wouldn't make it like that.

There is also another thing I have in mind. Could you make a random number generator? One with:

0-10
0-100
0-1000
color generator

I don't know how to make it, but I know it's pretty easy to do. Maybe Tamarin can help with that, unless it was Gywall who made it on the old SBB.

And one more thing. This would be pretty amazing, and it may not be an easy task, but when I used to go to Glowsticking.com last year we had a forum where people could talk to an A.I. program/user. The thing was neat. "She" could reply to your post with about 80% sense and even had her own post count and profile. I forgot what they named her though. But like I said, it may not be easy to do. If we did have something like that here I'm sure we'd be getting a tsunami of new members coming to check it out. I think it would be the first time an Acmlm board had something like it.

Ah, but think about this: ice magic doesn't always have to be in the form of water. One the ways people use ice magic is to greatly lower the temperature of something. This "something" could be the very air itself being turned into ice to strike a target or simply cause freezing damage. I'm sure you know that even air can freeze if got cold enough, granted it would have to be extremely cold. And another liquid can always substitute water for freezing, like maybe ethane or whatever. So you can't really say water and ice are the same, even if you yourself are use the two elementals that way.

And about the light/dark thing- if you really want to get all the way down to the technicality/science realism of it, like I do, light and dark are different from holy and evil.

Posted on 07-13-05 02:36 PM, in Mall of America Virtual Tour (Long thread) Link
Okay everyone, I've been meaning to do this for a long time but just never got around to it. Here's the stroy: I live about 10 minutes from the Mall of America (I've been there more times than a porn star has had sex). A couple years ago (2003) I went there a took several pictures because I wanted to post them up for people to see who have never been there before. I've put them up at Glowsticking.com when I use to go there last year, and this is the second time I'm putting them. Keep in mind that quite a few things have come and gone since then from the place. It has been two years. So without further adeiu, enjoy.

Here, I am driving toward the mall, just getting off of highway 494. You can see the parking lot on the left. That's the one I always park at, on the 3rd or 4th level. To the right of that is the front of the mall.

Here is inside the parking lot. The must've been doing something to have that fence up. I don't know what it was. That green pillar helps indicate what floor you're on. Each floor has a different colored pillar with names of US states on them.

This is one of my good pictures. I looks like something that would be on a CD cover, or at least a picture inside the cover. This is the walkway to and from the mall/parking lot.

A shot from the 3rd level. What you see here is "Sam Goody Central". Basically it's a space used for various events. Events happen all the time here, such as skate boarding contests, fashion show, and even concerts. I've even seen celebrities with my own eyes, from Ashley Simspon and her band to some guy from a movie. Behind the escalators is an unclear shot of Camp Snoopy, the amusement park we have there.

A pic of the many stores on only half of one side. You see wreaths hanging up, but I think it was around late October at the time.

Here's a picture of Camp Snoopy. Since then we've gotten one more "twisty" roller coaster.

This is on the 4th floor. That place right there is "Knuckleheads", a comedy club. I've been there twice. Once was when a voice actor from Crank Yankers performed. You know the guy who does Special Ed? That's the one. Then there's an arcade on the far left.

Here's a better shot of Sam Goody Central. Taken from the 4th floor only a few meters from where I was standing in the previous picture.

Turning around we see inside Gillian's, an bigger arcade place with a bowling ally and bar/restaurant. A friend and I go here occasionally for a few drinks. Just a few months ago me and her were on a binge, trying to see who could drink more. I had 14, she had 16. Our tab ended up being over $100. . Being a gentleman, I paid for it.

Going past Knuckleheads and past the Arcade and the Hooter's on the right (I didn't take a picture of that because I'd look like a perv) We get to the hall of movie posters. Every time there's a movie coming out within 6 months or so it get up here.

Yeah, I told you these pictures were a bit old. Troy.

And "The Last Samurai".

Here's a shot of the ever popular Lego Land, where they have tables with tons of Legos to play and build with, Plus, an open store with lots of Lego stuff to buy. There's another picture of this place below, and some of the things you see around have been built with thousands of legos glued together.

This picture doesn't quite do justice of how cool the ceiling above Camp Snoopy looks. It was a cool design, so I took a picture. Can you see the yellow Lego blimp at the bottom? Guess what? Thousands of Legos put together.

This is one half of the food court right below the movie theater. Third floor.

That used to be the Mall gift store, replaced by the now Peanut store, as it read on the white boards. If you ever come here you'll see a few cases of this around the mall. Stores sometimes stay for only a short time and get replaced by others. within a month or even a couple weeks.

As is the case with this. This is across from the food court on the opposite side of the one by the movie theater. Two food courts total. When the mall first opened, the area behind that wall used to be a mini golf thing. Then it turned to Cereal Adventure. To this day it's still like that, but I think they took the signs down at least.

Turning my body 90 degrees to the right, there's the other food court I just mentioned. right below it, on the bottom with the red.... thing, is Ruby Tuesday's.

This right here is the best picture I've taken, and I'm proud of it too. I'm fascinated with the way it turned and with all the beautiful colors of red and gold and lighting. Just like a cool Christmas theme. A shot similar to the 5th pic, this is one of a whole side of the mall. The picture below is a shrunken version. Here is the original. It's pretty big, so give it time to load.

At the other end of the previous one is the "second" Sam Goody store. At one point we had two Sam Goody stores, but the bigger one was replaced by a "Petters", or what that dumb miscellaneous item store is. This Sam Goody has a neat interactive white pad on the floor. Depending on what the projector above is showing, when you step on the pad things move around. So if it is showing bubbles, when your foot "hits" a bubble it gets kicked and bounces around. It's pretty much the same as the Eye Toy technology for the PS2.

Down to the first floor, for the first time. Honestly, I rarely go to the first floor. Not a whole lot interests me, except maybe the Game Stop here. There's another Game Stop on the second near the food court a few pictures ago.

One of the newer rides at the time at Camp Snoopy. "The Mighty Axe". This and the new roller coaster are about the only two rides I have not been on yet.

Another picture within the park showing the ceiling. You can kind of see the coaster tracks going coming from the middle right to the upper left above Snoopy's head.

One of the 4 major department stores of the Mall of America: Macy's, Sears, Bloomingdales and Nordstroms. Looks like something from a commercial ad.

Better shot of Lego Land. The green dino head towards the top on the right- made with Legos. You can't see a lot of the structure nearby, but they're all big and all mades with hundreds or thousands of legos. Here you see people and kids playing with them. That black ramp is used for racing built cars.

The Bose store. I considered working there once because within a certain amount of time you were given $2,000 worth of speakers and entertainment systems. Sometime before this picture was taken they were giving away a cool black car. they had it sitting right in the store. That baffles me a bit becuase I'm not too sure how they got it in there.

Another "down the hall" picture. This is on the first floor still. The first floor has most of the clothing stores, which is what you see here.

The "Rain Forest Cafe". I've been inside, just never ate. I heard the food wasn't the best, but I'm sure it's not that bad either. Cool place inside though.

Now, let me tell you guys a story about this store: About a year prior, my parents found out about a sale going on. One was for customers getting 40% of all leather. Then, after closing, the store would be reopened to family members of employees and they would get an additional 50% from the other sale price. A hell of a deal. So, my family and managed to to get in. We don't even know anyone who works at Leather Limited. We lied our way in. Long story short, we walked out of there with about $800 worth of leather and paid only about $400.

Two cool stores. The first is "Rave" (it's cool beacause I like raves, but that one is a clothes store), and the one next to it is Hot Topic. I'm sure a few of you shop there.

I had to be careful taking this one so I wouldn't be caught doing it and looked at weird. This is just one of the 4 Victoria Secret stores we have at the mall. Oh, notice where the guy's hand is? Don't worry, it's not what you think.

Undetwater Adventures. I've been there once back in the late 90's. Awesome place. Aquarium with thousands of gallons of water and hundreds of different fish species. Much to do there, and much to see. You guys would like it.

This is half of the movie theater. I've seen plenty of movies here. There's a whopping 14 showings. 14 or 16, I can't remember. The last movie I saw here was... I forgot. It was last month.

Now we get back out to the parking lot, after stopping at an Orange Julius. This is the car I used to have. A Ford Contour. 95. The thing drained about $7,000 from me to fix the engine and transmission. Took forever to pay it off. I now drive a happy Saturn Ion 2. 04, blue You like the bumper sticker? It's says "Got Anime?"

I drove up to the very top floor of the parking lot to get a good view of the mall. You can see the skyways and the street down below

And the last pic, driving back home. Over in the distance is the new IKEA store (finished now). Believe me, this one is huge. I've been in it a couple times and they have the showrooms up stairs set up like a damn maze. I've gotten lost in there on my first visit for about 5 minutes trying to find my way out until I realized I should follow the arrows painted on the floor. Geez.

So there you have it. Keep in mind that what you saw is only about a quarter of it all. The Mall of America isn't the called the biggest mall in the world for nothing. The place is very large and unlike anything you seen with your own eyes. And now there are plans to expand it with $1 Billion. Believe it or not. What's in the works?
"Included in the expansion will be a family-oriented hotel with themed rooms that will include an igloo room, a train room and a Hawaiian room, a concert center for the performing arts, dance and family shows, an NHL sized ice rink that will be open for public skating and ice shows, a tram that will transport passengers from the light rail station into the center of Phase II, and an Italian canal with gondolas surrounded by dancing fountains. The expansion will also include restaurants serving food from around the world such as the Left Bank of Paris, Italy and Scandinavia."
Here is a site to look at for more details. Trust me, it's worth checking out, even for just a moment.
http://sev.prnewswire.com/gambling-casinos/20050215/CGTU08215022005-1.html

I hope you guys enjoyed the pics and the tour overall. I took me over an hour just to type this single post. I do have stories to tell about my times there if you'd like to hear them.

To answer your question, Xeo, I rarely see familiar faces. Thousands and thousands of people go there everyday. So many infact, that the Mall of America was also a target during the 9/11 incident, but it never happened. And with good reason- the mall is only two miles away from the Minneapolis airport. Pretty darn convenient for terrorists. The place was closed down for a couple days during that time.

No chairs or couches. Just benches.

But we're talking magic here, and not certain alignments. Holy elemental magic involves divine energy and the ever common healing magic. Evil elemental magic deals with using evil spirits, bad energy, hellish things, etc. It's up to a person's imagination to decide what spells to create. But here's the catch: who says you have to be good to use Holy magic or bad to use Evil magic? Everybody seems to have the mentality that only the good can use Holy and the bad can use Evil. That's not true. You don't need to be if any alignment to use either. This fact can sort of compromise the need for a "neutral" person. One of my simbattle characters uses both Holy and what I call "Hell" elemental magic, but he's neither good or bad.

To me, Evil and Holy magics are just plain elementals, much like Wind or Earth.
There's no rule saying someone is to be aligned with a "side" simply because he is innate with one of the two. Be it neutral or even good and bad.

This thread will be used for members to provide us with a list of magic elementals they use. Simply make a list of the total number of magic types your character(s) uses. If you have an original elemental please mention what other elemental(s) can oppose it. Please do not post elementals by character. There's no need to. You are listing every elemental that you use for sim battles or RPs. Note that you can have different oppositions for any elementals other than the obvious ones.

Here's my list. I use a pretty wide span of 14 different elementals:

Fire (opposed by Ice and Water elementals)

Ice (opposed by Fire elemental, can side with Dark elemental)

Wind (slight effect with Earth elemental)

Water (opposed by Electric elemental)

Earth (slight effect with Fire and Electric elementals)

Electric (opposed by Water and Earth elementals, slight effect with Energy elemental)

Poison (opposed by Holy elemental)

Holy (opposed by Hell elemental, slight effect with Dark and Poison elementals)

Hell (opposed by Holy elemental, slight effect with Light elemental)

Light (opposed by Dark elemental, slight effect with Hell elemental)

Dark (opposed by Light elemental, slight effect with Holy elemental, can side with Ice elemental)

Non Elemental (opposed by Poison elemental)

Energy Elemental (slight effect with Electric elemental)

Anti-Magic Elemental (opposed by any normal opposite magic elemental)

Notes:

"Energy elemental" magic invovles things like lasers, particle beams and other science fiction weaponry. Electric elemental magic has little bit of a counter effect to it.

"Anti-Magic elemental" magic is not what most would immediately think upon hearing the name, which is nullifying another person's use of magic. Instead, the concept relates to matter/anti-matter particles studied in physics. This elemental harbors all of the "negative" elementals of normal magic, and similar to matter and anti-matter, annihilation occurs when a normal elemental spell or being comes in contact with an anti-magic spell or being of the opposing elemental.
For example: Fire + Anti-magic Ice = annihilation blast. Light + Anti-magic Dark = annihilation blast.

I sometimes use spells made from raw magic energy. Those spells fall under Non-elemental magic.

Another blast pushed his body to the side with debris flying into the shielding. He nearly fell over from the force but kept his ground and stayed on his feet. He glanced back to see how far away his pursuer was while running and turned a corner to go down the flights of stairs. Cyro literally lept from near the top of each flight, letting the shield ram into the wall upon landing to abruptly stop the momentum of his body before going on to the next. More firing was heard, constantly behind him. He wasn't so sure he'd stop being chased so easliy. And since he didn't have any explosives or equipment for a trap there wouldn't be much time for rest until he was completely clear of the building's premisis.

Upon making it outside Cyro continued his frantic dash. There was much destruction within the area from the previous battle. Boxes and containers ravaged from the multiple rounds that had passed through. Walls were torn apart due to concussive blasts. Cyro zigzagged his way around the obstacles to make a straight run back to the fence from which he came in. The shielding from his ESD lit up as rounds struck the invisible field at high speeds. There was still security force firing at him. Cyro didn't want to turn and fire back. He wouldn't have time without being injured himself in the process. It was too much, and his ESD was going to deactivate again in a moments notice from the stress.

I think the worst mine have done is the usual piss/poop on the carpet. I have a male and female poodle. A few months ago the female (Lizzie) was in heat. And even though the male (Buddy) has part of his "dog"hood chopped off he was still in that state of mind. He'd sometimes piss on the carpets in our new house. My mom would sort of beat him for it, but he kept doing it like he couldn't help it.

Other than that, one of our older dogs chewed on my SNES controller cord. Messed it up a little, but it still worked.

DufarC, welcome to Xeogaming. I like your name. And don't worry, you're not the only person to live alone where you are. I'm from Minnesota. I'm the only here from there. There's quite a few people here from Michigan, I believe.

I'm Cyro Xero. Just about everybody calls me Cyro. I'm the sim battle moderator. If you ever have an interest in sim battling or RPing I'll be glad to show you around.
