Yes. A few interesting suggestions I've seen from others: Hammer Brothers as an Ice Climbers clone, a Koopa Troopa, Geno (someone claimed that Nintendo bought the rights to all the SMRPG characters after Superstar Saga was made), Jinx (also from SMRPG), Captain Olimar... etc. Another hope of mine is the Ganondorf from Wind Waker... with two swords, instead of no swords. I doubt they'll significantly change an established character, since the Melee Ganondorf has his fans, but he doesn't really make sense as a Captain Falcon clone. =( So... feasible ideas, crazy ideas, whatever, entertain us. |

The existing characters will presumably be rebalanced again, as happened between SSB and SSBM. I think they nerfed Ness and Pikachu a little too harshly, so I hope those characters end up better off for this game since I like the way they play.

| Games that Nintendo was not closely involved with are unlikely.
Snake will not be in it. I would bet all the money I currently have that Snake will not be a playable character in the next SSB. People are clamoring for Sonic and Tails but I would be surprised if they showed up. (i wouldn't be willing to bet against them though.) Golden Sun makes sense, and a lot of people have suggested Advance Wars CO's or whatever they're called. Final Fantasy characters - no chance. Same for Chrono Trigger. I know I allowed for crazy suggestions, but some of you seem to be convincing yourselves that they will actually put in Snake or Cloud or whatever. =( |

| I could see Kraid and Ridley as bosses (like Giga Bowser and the Hands) but I would be surprised if Ridley was a playable character. | They are not that bad except that at least 90% of them are tiny text area scroll layouts which is horrible
The images are fine, it's just the tiny scroll area on most of them Luckily block layout is on this board one of the first things I did was go down the memberlist and block every scroll layout among the active posters |

| Ganondorf is a good character as he is, it's just that his moveset doesn't match his character. I think they should satisfy the fans of the current Ganondorf by having Samurai Whatshisname take over his role (he's from the same game as C. Falcon anyway) and give Ganondorf some fuckin swords (again, I must advocate a Wind Waker Ganondorf). LTTP Gannon would be sweet too.
It's fairly possible that all the current clones will be "Luigified" in the next iteration (that is: their movesets will be significantly diversified in SSBR, as Luigi was from SSB64 to SSBM) but there will likely be new clones. I don't have a problem with clones, really... if those four characters in SSBM hadn't been clones they probably wouldn't have been in the game at all. | The thing is, no one ever said it was the end of the world. Looks like two or three people were independently driven to comment on the layouts. I happen to agree: I don't like the layouts. I just went and blocked all the unreadable ones.
But I don't think it was unreasonable for someone to make a thread about it. I do think DS_Master's post was unreasonable. But it seems that people on both of these occasions took the comments far too personally and lashed out defensively, which in the case of Tanis's thread caused him to lash back. | the board doesn't store the edits with an actual adjustable timestamp, it just stores them as text, using the server time. quite annoying and no one's ever fixed on any acmlmboard I've seen, even the "official" one which is now on its third main coder. (Last edited by Zem on 03-09-06 05:58 AM) |
