Thick as a Brick - Jethro Tull

a great 43 minute epic divided into two halves, I really love the organ sounds in this.

I liked the movie itself, and how incredible the creatures and surroundings in it were, but the later third or so of the movie seemed dragged out, and jack black was getting less funny and more stupid. The main reason I looked forward to this movie though was to see a a giant ape 'wrassle' a dinosaur or two, and that's exactly what I got.

I'll play my keyboard for hours on end, focusing on either some Dream theater song (the Take The Time opening solo is really fun) or Revolutionary Etude. Sometimes I draw, that's usually out of boredom though. More recently I play Gradius 3(I know it as the hardest game in the world) so that I have something legitimate to be mad at, and forget about whatever was troubling me. I'll read when I see a book near me, sometimes Air and Space magazine or the Bible. Listening to Pantera and other brutal music comforts me too.

I'd have to disagree with the dislike of anything remotely complex, not all flags that resemble bad modern art are good because they are simple. I do like the critisizing of plaugarism though, and can't disagree with the color opinions since I have no concept of what looks nice together. Cool thing overall, I liked how it went over even the unheard-of countries.

Wow, their cover of Fight Fire With Fire is great. A cellist in my cabin at Blue Lake got me to listen to them, they're just amazing. I have yet to see how they use distortion on their cellos, since apparently it's all acoustic. I would compare them to Children of Bodom's instrumental areas, or good old(literally) Metallica.

There was No Doubt,.....and there was Garbage, ......can't think of many others, most nowadays are pop punk and only listenable for so long. There's several upcoming ska bands that have women singers though. MSI's bass player and drummer are girls. I personally like unusually high male vocals to a woman's voice, though I'm sure many chick bands have done coheed and cambria covers. Also, there's a few hardcore/'metal' bands that have women on vocals, but screaming instead of singing, which I hate in general. Otep is a more famous one of them.

hmm, my favorites should be to your liking, more progressive stuff that everyone is at least impressed by.

Dream Theater
Images And Words
Scenes From A Memory
Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence(this one's much heavier)

Liquid Tension Experiment
"
"2

Spock's Beard
The Light(has a later Beatles feel at some moments)

Michael Angelo Batio
Speed Kills(best shredding....ever)

Pantera
Vulgar Display of Power
Cowboys From Hell

other stuff you might like would be White Zombie, or Powerman 5000. Slayer is just funny most of the time, but they do have nice metallica covers.

hahahaha yes! This outdoes Wierd Al's "Smells Like Nirvana" in some parts. I commend this Andrew Mathas for being awesome enough to make this. I'm glad this song's not clogging up the radio as much anymore.

I've been trying to train myself to speed through showers for a while now, resulting in a 7 to 15 minute cleaning period. I'll wash my hair first and only once, either go with two rounds of soap or one of body wash for my body, and clean my face with oil-cutting soap in the short time after that. If I use hair gel it flakes and stays in my hair for a few days, creating a most unpleasent effect that shampoo will not help.

Hmm, here's how it would work out for me:

1.sell Earth on EBay, bidding starts at Bill Gates's approximate wealth. You know people will buy it, like they do abandoned missile silos.

2.Ironically make a song about selling the- heyyy wait a minute....

3.Buy the entire U.S. military with the money that would come to me, but quickly before the new ruler would render all currency useless or do something equally as stupid/cool.

4.Make a giant mech army (in secret of course), of the likes of which have never been seen. 40 huge mechs, 77 medium ones, 144 smaller mechs, and lots of well armed infantry suits. Most people would naturally not oppose me at that point because I'm not the owner of the world.

5.Unleash a gigantic attack aimed for the world's owner, and, since giant robots are not easily matched, I'd have him seized and handing me the world's power without much opposition.

6.I'd help out pretty much eveyone rebuild their world, on the way giving Israel back to the Jews, appoint Maddox as king of America (presidents don't cut the mustard when big changes need to be made fast), and giving money to whatever will spread the word of God the way it was meant to be, love instead of force. I'd secretly write my ownership or the world on a message-in-a-bottle, throwing it in a landfill for somebody else to find. I'd probably just be a musician after that...

People hate me for saying this, but I haven't said a swear word in at least 3 years. I can get through life without using profane words, excluding the extremely immature ones that are only 'bad words', those are hilarious. It bothers me inside every time when someone swears, and even when I expect it, like when Samuel Jackson speaks, it doesn't go over with me as being ok. Also, saying God without meaning it is also swearing maybe in the worst way, it's mockery of one's religion. It's amazing that people have no idea of this anymore. In music, swearing always takes away from lyrics, creating horrible unbalance in word strength. An example of this is System Of A Down: Toxicity has by far the least swear words, but is also widely looked at as the best album. Metallica also swore much less in Master of Puppets than in St. Anger. Making personal effort not to swear (half of it is controlling anger) is one of the best things anybody can do, unless you're immersed in corrupt language it's not that hard.

It seems to me like not enough of us are thinking outside of the box here. You have the world, not just America. That's like, another 85% or so of the world you forgot about. It would seem to me like you wouldn't be an American citizen anymore, you'd be "The Owner Of The World". Also, too many of us are stuck in the idea that democracy is the best form of govenment, always. A shift to old-fashioned monarchy would work great with the watered down people we have all around the western world. I'd keep Japan exactly the same, since democracy with a strong people works. Africa could be another socialist experiment, it would at least be something to get their minds off Aids, or the spreading of it. And uhh, free internet, wherever, yeah that sounds good.

I got to 5 at very best and don't think I could do better, the cube was translucent blue and the rings were yellow and orange. This was enough, however, to make me think of how to make this harder. Imagine each ring spinning at different speeds, for example, every clockwise ring starting at 2x (x being the speed of the cube) and gaining 2x in speed with each ring outside, and the counterclockwise ones starting at 1.5x and gaining 3x in speed each time. Unless you can get at least 7 rings with the original method, it would probably frustrate you more than anything to try, like it does me. If you're a bad enough dude to use a geometric sequence for this, then wow.

There's definately a world of spirit that makes up yet rarely touches the world of flesh. I like to think of it as if you drew out all the connections within the Internet, making a mass of dots and lines. I doubt it's any simpler in the world, as there are and have been lots and lots of people. Etheral shapes in pictures I usually take seriously, they're probably put there to give you the truth of "you're never alone". There have to be some thin spots either worn down or foolishly created(Ouji boards) by people, and then unnecessary contact can come between a body and a bodyless. Then there are demons who sometimes go on a scaring spree, which may actually help us for a higher purpose. I once was awakened from a dream by some evil form holding me down by my shoulders and seemingly mocking me in a terrible voice at something I had said in that dream. I called on the Lord to help me, and the thing kind of shrunk away. I could tell where it was even though my eyes were closed, and saw that my eyes were dilated when I looked in the mirror. My ex-girlfriend(we're still great friends, I hate using 'ex') told me of voices often calling to her mockingly in her room, then being hit in the head with seemingly nothing. She once felt a force trying to draw into her before a white radiance called her to move from it. The torment seemed to stop after she quit her habit of drinking. Definitely real stuff, which people can never hope to win if they fight or cower.

Long before this thread, I came up with theatrical trailer narration lines, like " A film that will make John Wayne roll over in his grave", "cheer up straight western fans, at least there's still Ocelot", or "We wish there wasn't already a movie made called Blazing Saddles". Between this and Snakes On A Plane, I don't know why Hollywood keeps making movies asking for a comedic beatdown.

I hadn't read anything good in a while, and a friend let me borrow the first book of this series, Wizard's First Rule. I read through it staring open mouthed at how great a book it was. I'm on the second book now, Stone of Tears, which starts off almost directly where the first book ends, and also is proving this the best modern fantasy literature. Everything is told so vividly but without the meticulousness that made some of LOTR feel choppy to read, and the story is incredibly original for a fantasy book series. Author is Terry Goodkind btw.

Posted on 03-12-06 01:29 AM, in Now this is amusing: St. Patty's Day fell on a Friday Link
Lent is simply committing yourself to something for the better for 40 days, for no less reason than out of reverence for God. Not eating meat on friday is kind of a 'default' way of showing respect, and if you can do things for His glory that are greater than that then this man made rule will not truly matter. More important, people really celebrate St. Patrick's day?? My plans for that day are to wear a white t-shirt to school with lined paper taped to it that says 'green'. If there are that many Irish Catholics who celebrate this, and want to stay true to lent, giving up something of equal of greater value to meat would be a good plan, like using no tv, computer, or other 'screens'. I wonder if people can tell God's instruction from man's tradition anymore...

People seem to be treating this too much like Ozzy Osbourne's infamous incident with the bat. I'm starting to like this german artist guy, for being so wierd (even for an artist), and actually think there's some humor and truth in this. I would have eaten the roasted rabbit right next to him, thanking him and noting how much courage this must have taken. If there were children in the audience, it would have been innapropriate, but an adult audience could really learn something. More than to prove the carnal nature of man, I side with this more to show that being self sufficient has far less limits than people today think it does. I think this is part of being open-minded.
