| I would like to think that he would have gotten it even if he hadn't died. I mean, he did so much preparation for that role and he was so good in it. So often now when I watch movies I don't see characters, I see *actor's name here* playing this person. For example, I love John Cusack but in every role he is in, he doesn't change. It's always John Cusack. But I didn't see Heath Ledger playing the Joker, I saw the Joker. I think that performances such as those should be rewarded.
... and besides, he was up against Robert Downey, Jr. in black-face. C'mon. |

| Yeah, I have noticed that if I read things after that I tend to be okay with the movie, since when I saw it I had no expectations. Usually if it is close, I am fine with it. Even on the rare occasion that I am ok if it does differ a bit from the book (Stardust), it is when the change does not detract from the overall story greatly or I just like the change. | |||

| You know, for being the shortest month of the year, this month really has dragged on a long time.
So I was reading The Life of St. Nicholas of Sion for my Byzantium class and it made me horribly confused... apparently every third person in this tale is named Nicholas and is some kind of priest so I no longer have any idea which one is supposed to be the Saint. In other news... I need to find a way to make my futon mattress less firm so that I can sleep without pain. Olivia Munn makes me want to kick people. | Fuck the little computer kiosks at school for randomly resetting while I am trying to read something!
Edit: Double-fuck the computer kiosk! It has a site filter system that works off of keywords. I can't go on my pagan forum because we have an Adult Only section (not about porn, just adult issues), I can't click on Belial's new debate thread because it says "marijuana" in the title... yet I can click this. Can't click on the Fucked up roomate thread in Story, because "fucked" is blocked... yet fuck and fucking are not, which seems odd to me. Seriously though, keyword filter is just fucking stupid. | That is true... unless you know a fav scene is in the movie and you are waiting for it. One thing that I was happy with the Harry Potter films was that they left the Malfoy-turned-into-a-ferret scene alone and it was amazing.
But yeah, like I said... the changes they made to Gaiman's films were not that big of a deal, since they didn't drastically alter the storyline. I'm fine with that. I'm fine that in Goblet of Fire they had Neville give Harry the gillyweed instead of Dobby, that isn't a big deal... I'm pissed they cut out Rita Sketer being an unregistered Animagus and then left her out of Order of the Phoenix completely, since that was a major part of the plot in the books. Stuff like that is what pisses me off, since it leaves people that haven't read the books confused on certain points. So far, it seems that Watchmen won't make mistakes like that and I am glad. I do think that I might wait to read it until after I see the movie though, since I would like to be surprised when I see it all... and besides, school won't let me read for pleasure anymore. |

Started reading Magician: Apprentice by Raymond E. Feist, book one of the Riftwar Saga (more fantasy stuff) and so far it is very entertaining, I hate putting the book down... even though the main character's name is Pug, which I just find silly. |

| I say legalize it. Honestly, it is not some slippery slope thing, just like cigarettes are not. The only reason that people say it is is because it is illegal and they want to keep it that way.
