I actually wrote out a response to this, but I guess I forgot to post it before I left for school this morning.
If I remember what I wrote, I think I was saying that since you're an adult and you're her brother, you probably shouldn't have a problem getting in. Does she have any hobbies? Is she artistic? A writer, maybe? Encourage her to express herself, especially through art and writing. Maybe even through acting. She feels like shit and needs to get that out and feel like someone cares. The danger zone with suicidals is when they feel numb. When they start cutting they're usually trying to see if they can feel anything at all. Outside of being encouraging and supportive, there isn't much else you can do. |

In the bootleg version that I saw, I do remember the Logan sitting at the bar scene.
I'd be interested to see the Deadpool scene, though. Wade was indeed able to reattach his head and arms and such when they were cut off because the Weapon X project gave him Wolverine's healing factor. Under the mask, Wade does resemble Ryan Reynold's ending appearance, minus the mouth issue. |

Definitely take the support up a few notches. If she's half as good as you say, really push her love of music.
Don't try to force her into being a rock star or anything, but music is very positive and you absolutely should encourage her. Go to her shows, compliment her, and just be there. Best of luck with her, Steve. |

No, he does not.
When the Weapon X team (Agent Zero, Kestrel, Blob, etc) are revealed they do show Wade wearing red clothes, but that's as close as it gets. EDIT: I mentioned in a previous post that the definitive on-screen Deadpool is the animated one in the Hulk vs Wolverine movie. Well here's a bit about it: EDIT 2: It's been confirmed that Ryan Reynolds is going to be playing Deadpool in his own spin-off movie. (Last edited by Rogue on 05-06-09 11:51 AM) |

Yet another guy who reminds me of the man who has a bowling ball for a penis. Strange days, I tell ya. (Last edited by Rogue on 05-06-09 03:44 PM) |

Originally posted by Elara I'm fairly certain that was Silver Fox, although I've been waiting for the Mariko storyline for a while. I thought Silver Samurai was going to be the main villain, but then again that would have muddled things up. Like he's fighting Weapon X and then suddenly he's in Japan battling alongside Sunfire. They're already playing Musical Chairs with so many powers as it is. |

Guy slumps into a bar. He orders 4 shots of Jager.
The bartender asks, "Tough day, man?" The guy says, "I just found out my son is gay." "Tough break, man," the bartender says. The guy drinks his 4 shots and is on his way. The next day the same guy comes back and orders 6 shots of Jager. "You all right, man?" the bartender asks. "I just found out my father's gay," he sighs. The bartender shakes his head in pity. "I'm sorry to hear that," he says. The guy sighs and immediately slams down his liquor and leaves. The next day, the same guy walks into the bar, and this time orders the whole bottle. The bartender just asks, "Man, isn't there anyone in your family that likes women?" "Yeah," the guy says after taking his first swig. "My wife." |

I may need to fire a columnist.
Her stories are usually on time, but since she insisted on being a sex columnist, it gets hard to read her stories sometimes. She's rather conservative and there's nothing wrong with that or promoting abstinence and being anti-abortion. She does, however, completely berate people who do choose to have sex, in a sex column. What's killing me, though, is that her writing is also flooded with logical fallacies. In yesterday's article, which was addressing the Plan B pill, she went of on a tangent of "Plan A" being a "smarter choice," but never specifies what "Plan A" is. Is it not getting pregnant? Not having sex? Choosing to keep the baby? What? But what I was having trouble swallowing was when she throws in non sequiturs, saying things like, "Evolution states that it is an accidental organism" regarding an unplanned pregnancy. How does evolution figure into this? Uh..? Or when she writes that a woman feels she's ridding her body of the "parasite" like Hitler rid Europe of the Jews. In other words, if you are impregnated and no matter what your reason, if you choose to take the morning after pill and evacuate the cells that would become an embryo (eventually becoming a fetus in a few weeks), you're a Nazi. And even after one of the copy-editors discussed the necessary changes with her, she still had a bunch of random statistics that she had thrown into the story. I left a note in her story's Google Doc saying that I needed the sources for fact-checking purposes and the links to where she got the information. Even one of the executive editors flat out told her she needed to include these things after he saw my note and my discussing it with him. Her response to the situation: deleting my note and not adding the sources. I REALLY hate the idea of having to fire a student writer. Since the guy who hired her as a columnist is an executive editor, the other two exec editors are saying he should be the one to fire her. Shitty situation. And she's in one of my classes. Originally posted by Katana That was a major problem with X3. They added so many more characters than they were able to introduce or use. And then to make things more confusing they switched around and changed people's powers for the sake of convenience. And the Marvelverse is EXPANSIVE. I mean, there are a ton of people to know in the DC-world, but the X-Men, the Brotherhood, and other villains, the Hellfire Club, the touches on Alpha Flight, ALL of it on its own could practically swallow it up like Galactus. Originally posted by Katana That's a VERY common occurrence in the comic book world. There's actually a Geek Hierarchy floating around out there. When it branches off for people who read comics, it goes that people who read comics are above those who only read superhero comics. And those people are above those who only read X-Men spin-offs. It's extremely typical to run into people at conventions or ever just out on the street who say the love comics and only want to talk about X-Men because that's all they know. I know people were pissed when Marvel did Civil War because the mutants pretty much chose to be neutral and were almost entirely left out of this "epic" Marvel event. |

Ah, I see.
Well, Yuriko's father created the adamantium-bonding process (which Weapon X used on Wolverine), but she actually was the one who killed him. She's after Wolverine's skeleton because she wanted her own to be adamantium-bonded and needed to see how his was done. I can't remember how or when, but she does have adamantium now. And yeah, she was in X2 (by far the best X-Men movie), but I guess if they took the time to explain her it may have slowed the pacing. I mean, her back story of why she killed her father is a bit extensive. It'd be its own movie. |

Originally posted by Elara I'm somewhat guilty of that whenever I see a comic book movie. It's usually at the midnight screenings when the hardcore fans come and cheer and get excited and you can't help but feel pulled into the fray of enthusiasm as well. I'm a bit more inward with my fanticism, though. Like I squee a little if I recognize little things here or there. Like in X2 when someone's flipping through channels at the bar and someone's interviewing Hank McCoy. Or whenever Stan Lee is on screen for a millisecond (I don't get that excited these days... it's just Stan. ) But I do agree it can be annoying. So I heard McCoy and Scottie were even better than their original series versions. Any truth to that? |

I was on Vizzed back in 2003. A friend introduced me to Masters of Darkness and I started posting on what would soon become Xeogaming. Nothing malicious in it at all.
There's no hard feelings between the two boards. At least not on this end. (Last edited by Rogue on 05-08-09 06:03 PM) |
