| I don't know if sting operations like that are necessarily entrapment, since I believe stings are actually legal. Besides, assholes that cut off people in the crosswalk like that deserve a ticket... but wow, that intersection needs a stop light or something.

| Not a true meme, but one my coworker posted in our work journal that I thought was interesting. Here is how you play: make a list of those you have loved, past or present, then find a song for each that best describes the relationship. Usually "your song" does not really fit how it went, so go looking and see what you get... some of the results can be rather funny.
As for me... I have kinda a long one. 1) Lee: "Yellow Submarine" - The Beatles. He got me into the Beatles, and it was a fun adventure... besides, it is so him. Don't try to deny it, Stitch, you know it is true. 2) Elias: "Enjoy the Silence" - Depeche Mode/ "Haunted" - Evanesence. The seemingly ideal relationship that went horribly sour. The two songs reflect the happy beginning and the honestly desturbing end. 3) Ryan: "Darkness" - Disturbed. Ryan was a more platonic relationship than anything, but he was a big help in recovering from the Elias ordeal... the strength to get me through it. 4) Pat: "Roulette" - System of a Down. No chorus better explains how I felt during most of my attempts to catch that man, and I think those here that remember it would agree. 5) Garrett: "Heart of Glass" - Blondie. He doesn't post anymore so I have no regret in saying that while it tore me up initially, his leaving is the best thing that could have happened to me. The line about being a pain in the ass? Spot on. 6) Jayarre: "Don't Stay" - Linkin Park. This was honestly the hardest one to nail down because of just how insanely up and down that relationship was, but this song I think captures perfectly how I felt at the end of it when I reflected back. 7) Ben: "The Best is Yet to Come" - The Scorpions. Yeah yeah, the current relationship gets a sappier song. Like the song says, we have only just begun, and so the song I choose may change later but for now this one fits perfectly and captures the enthusiasm we feel about the big move and having everything to look forward to. | That's right, it's back again! To encourage Xeogaming's wonderful writers and the celebrate the boards 6th birthday (August 14th) we are bringing back the Story Competition. The rules are much the same as the first time, but with increased word limit.
- Short story of any genre, 2000 words or less (if you go over by like 50-100 words it's still good). - Any genre is fine - Must be an original story written by you! (fanfics are ok, just give credit to creator of characters) - Preferably a new story, at least one never posted here unless it has undergone heavy re-writing. - Grammar and spelling are important. - One entry per person! You will be judged based on grammer, spelling, plot, characters, description, and overall creativity. I am the main judge and as such will not be making an entry, if others are interested in doing so, let me know. All writers are allowed to critique each others work and give a vote, but may not vote for themselves. Any questions? Interested? Submissions will be accepted starting 8/14/10, make sure that when you post your entry in the forum that your story says "Competition Entry" in the title. Example: "Competition Entry: The Day the Aliens Stole My Shoe". Last day for submissions will be 8/21/10 at midnight (board's time) Please post if you are entering so we have a roster of sorts. I wish you all luck. |

| No, they didn't want to give money to people who do not have and cannot get jobs because the economy is in the toilet and no one is hiring. You know, all those people that have been getting laid off because they decided to deregulate Wall Street and the Loan Market? To get unemployment in the first place you have to show proof that you have been looking for a job. You want a better example? Ok. The other day Congress met to decide whether or not to provide states with emergency funding to keep their economies from collapsing. Governors from both parties pretty much begged for the money, as it was the only thing that was going to keep them afloat. Republican governors representing thousands of voters begged for this funding. Nearly all the Republican Congressmen voted no. They are out of touch with their base, even several Republicans admit it.
And Bush started the two wars, after the tax cuts... you don't have tax cuts in a war, it is economically unsound. And yes, I would assume that the Republican higher class knows about popular issues, just like the Democrats would. Since the higher class are the ones running the show. But Republicans in the middle and lower class usually have no fucking clue what is going on and when they think they do they are often misinformed because they get their news from Fox News, who have been caught lying several times to further their own agendas. Often members of the higher class get the same misinformation. And I am not talking about bias, I am talking about flat out lies and slander. Look at what just happened with the worker from the Department of Agriculture and that bogus story they broadcast that got her fired. Oh... and for the record, I don't say all this because I am a democrat (because I am not), I say it because it is the truth. |

| Ok... so you're mom is bitchy that you missed her birthday and she is holding a grudge that further drives you away? Nothing much to do about that other than wait her out and enjoy life in the meantime. The question I have is how did your father get such a bad reputation with the rest of your family?
And I was a bit confused on the wording... who doesn't know what about the wedding? As for the sister thing... yeah, spazzy. Did she even give a reason? Is she upset by the notion of you going to that school because it is far away, because of religious affiliation, some bad reputation? Or is it just her bossing you around because she thinks she can? That is something you should find out. I think that it is good that you are better about who to shut out of your life and why, but I would not say that you have absolutely nothing in common with your mother just like your sister probably does have something in common with your dad. It could be something minute, like a non-verbal quirk such hand movements. While you may be pissed at your mother for acting...well...childish, it is no reason to disavow all connection to her. We are all a product of both parents and the environment that we were raised in, even if we do not like to admit it. I would say that, given the realization of how much you dislike the actions of your mother and sister that taking a break from them is a good thing. Your mom doesn't want to talk to you, so be it. Your sister is trying to boss you around, ignore her and leave her alone. |
