Hmm, came up with an idea here. Might make another forum like Game Over and High Scores that's basically a listing of old/unused forums (so they're like archived there). Like the SBC's, Comet Saga, etc. They'd all appear as sub-forums in this forum.
Riddler's Tower I think I'll just close completely and maybe put it under that forum if you guys think it's a good idea. All threads there though could pretty much go under crazy. Probably won't close all the threads in these dead forums (would take awhile) but I'll just unable posting in them. (should interviews go there too? Kind of died out). I just barely saw your above spoiler and yeah, one of my friends was so drunk last night and saw images of that on 4chan last night blurting it out. He went crazy, then so did I wondering what the heck could be going on ...
It's insane. Saying this game will be epic isn't enough. Probably won't get to play it for a long time though. One thing I'm curious to know and don't mind being spoiled about, is the length. The previous MGS games only took me like ~10-15 hours to complete, which really isn't bad, but I can't imagine MGS4 being that short. There just seems to be so much I think it'd at least be 20 hours long or whatnot. |

Yeah, crazy is definitely the best way to describe this.
I was already sold since I absolutely loved the first game to death, but I just got playing the demo and wow ... blew me away. Though I can certainly agree with GT's review and what most are saying out there: Team Ninja's engine and graphics are finally starting to age a bit compared to a lot of other stuff out there now, there's some issues from the previous game still here like bland environments here and there, bad camera angles sometimes, invisible walls, etc ... but it probably will only appeal to those who played the last game I'm guessing. Either way, it seems like pure win. The charge attacks seem pretty damn insane, as if they weren't already in the first game, they're completely over the top in this one. Although the graphics aren't the best anymore, the animations and fighting is incredibly smooth and really impressive. I applaud them for making the combat even more fun than it already was, all the new features seem great. I'm definitely going to get this soon. The scythe ... holy shit! Yeah. Well I signed up for Gamefly, to try and save some money I guess .. there's a bunch of 360 games I want to play, but a lot of them I don't want to dish out $60 for. Right now this is probably the only game I'd actually be interested in buying that I don't have already, but I went ahead and put that at the top of my list. Apparently they have this cool "Keep It" option so if you like the game, you can buy it from them, then they send you the box/instructions.
Anyways, yeah. Now I just gotta wait to get this in the mail. Can't wait. |

Hmmm, yeah I never get together with friends to watch anything over the summers now that I think about it. Nothing really worth keeping up with at all.

lol, I know how that goes when you totally plan on playing a new release, then it doesn't happen.
Ugh, I have no idea what to do here. I know I won't have money for a PS3 for a really long time. A friend of mine got one since he convinced his dad to buy one as a good Blu-Ray player, he says he'll get this but he hardly plays games and I never see him. Chances of him beating this are like 1 in 100. Another friend of mine says he's going to trade in his 360 and stuff for a PS3 and this ... but I don't know. Maybe I'll just read stuff and watch videos on youtube, assuming stuff will be posted. I'm too anxious to see what happens even though I probably won't get to play it. |

Well it depends on where you bought it from as well. I'd say maybe a few days or so after it's in stores, but I'm not sure.

I know this is like 20 days later, but did you figure that out Kyoku kun? (watch any of R2 yet or anything?)
Anyways, I've been obsessed with both the Macross series and Ghost in the Shell lately. In enjoying Macross F so much, I checked out the old movie "Do You Remember Love" which is like an alternate retelling of the original Macross series ... for 1983, it blew me away. Incredible music, art, animation, everything was amazing. From there I watched Macross Plus, the sequel which also had an insanely good OST, then Macross Zero, a prequel to the series which was ... eh. I just downloaded the original series too, definitely plan on watching that soon. Ghost in the Shell seems like a mixed bag for some. I'm not a huge fan of the first movie to be honest, and I hear Innocence is a love it or hate it kind of thing as well, but the Stand Alone Complex series really had me hooked. The first season was really episodic based, but I absolutely loved the characters and the maturity of the show (consistency, etc). The second season, 2nd Gig, has more of a single arc plot that covers most of the season, with some backstory episodes here and there that are again amazing since I believe the characters are incredible. Top notch stuff. Some don't like the series since it's so "deep and complex" and whatever, I'll even admit most of the first season completely went over my head (especially the last few episodes), but I still thought the character development was very good and the quality of the show with the music, art, atmosphere, cool setting, etc was always there. I can see it becoming a favorite! Macross and GITS, epic series. (Last edited by Xeoji on 06-13-08 07:08 AM) |

Yeah. Well I'm not sure if I'm liking R2 as much as season one ... it's just really over the top and I have no idea where the series is going, lol. But I still like it.
I think Macross F is becoming my favorite this season. (Last edited by Xeoji on 06-13-08 04:41 PM) |

For the movie I'll just say this, don't expect to understand the plot of the entire film unless you watch it 50 times or something. This even applies to the series from time to time, but like I said a page back the characters are awesome! |

Well, from what I know the Ghost in the Shell series and movies don't exactly tie in directly, they're like alternate settings and whatnot. But it definitely helps to see both.
Black Lagoon is definitely not something to be taken too seriously, but I too thought it was a very fun and entertaining series. There's some serious segments here and there, but overall it's more of a fun series. The bad thing is it's a bit like Trigun, Berserk, etc, in that it doesn't necessarily end, though the manga is ongoing so it's possible they could come up with another season or two sometime down the road. I really hope they do, because the series could use some patches here and there. Light in my opinion, came off as somewhat of a tragic hero in the end. Just like it was suggested at the very start of the series, in the end, he was completely alone with nobody to turn to or trust. Some love him, some hate him, there's a good amount of controversy around the whole series. I simply liked him a lot since he did come off as a villian more than anything else, which seemed kind of original. Vulkar, I'd recommend you check out Code Geass if you haven't. The main character Lelouch comes off as one of the few characters you could compare to Light in all anime out there, though unlike Light he has more of a set goal rather than just to "change the world" and he surrounds himself with allies. It's more action based, has mecha, but the first season has some incredible character development and whatnot. It's one of those series that'll make you question who's side you should be on, as it develops both sides of the overall conflict for the series. Most here that have gotten around to watching it I'm pretty sure love the series (DarkSlaya, TP, Kyoku, etc). It's one of my favorites, but like I said earlier ... I'm not exactly sure where season 2 is going. If you want something similar to Death Note but far more mature and realistic, Monster. By far one of my top favorite shows I've ever seen. The thing that holds people back is the length though, hitting at 74 episodes and the beginning is hard to get through for some since it comes off as a "little slow", having to setup the plot and main character. Even I can admit I had this series downloaded for years before I finally caved in. Seriously though, when I got hooked on this series I was hooked. It was one of the best experiences I've ever had watching something, it's not just something you watch but instead it's like an adventure you'll go through along with all the characters and everything. You "live" through it. The art style is also a one of a kind, very realistic and not typical anime. It's hard to recommend someone who hasn't seen it and trying to say something other than it's simply one of the best I've ever seen ... but yeah, look into it. Definitely one I will never forget. But hey, other than that, are you looking for anything specific? (Last edited by Xeoji on 06-14-08 08:44 PM) |

Well, Code Geass's first season has been finished for awhile. The two are seperate enough that you could probably just watch the first one now and wait until the second is finished (should be fall this year or so).
And the ending for Monster ... perfection. I just finished GITS: 2nd Gig. Wow, easily one of my top favorites. (Last edited by Xeoji on 06-14-08 11:04 PM) |

Weeeeeeeeell, I hate Suzuka now and I always liked Lelouch. I guess I can just say the show develops both sides very well, unlike other shows where it just focuses on the heroes. If that makes more sense. |
