Junkie, Zoso, and I were watching "A Mighty Wind" with the sound low and listening to Stephen Lynch. It was actually quite funny when the lyrics would line up with the mouthing. | |||

Well I'm kinda lame and can't remember half of the things I want sometimes, at least until later. So here's all I can think of right off..
The "It would be cool if I got..." pile: - Amazon.com gift certificates - Season passes to theater/museum/amusement park/movies - Con passes for Wizard World LA/Comic-Con (though I'll probably be going as press)/Anime Expo/Pacific Media Expo/Anime LA The "It would fuckin' rock if I got..." pile: - Vacation accommodations - BR neck blinking sensor - New digital camera with bigger memory stick and lasts longer battery-wise - Specific books, manga, or DVDs (but gift certificates are always good for that) Lastly there's always money, but anything with thought involved is better than money. ^_~ |

I suppose one could argue that it is, but the liklihood of him being punished or it is extremely low unless he's caught red-handed (in the act, for all you guys who might confuse that for something perverted. Hey, I know you're smart, but this is Xeoland after all. ^_~). (Last edited by Rogue on 12-11-05 04:54 PM) |

So I finally got around to looking up the trailer for it.
X3 trailer with HD option As a loyal comic book fan and an original fangirl, this is slightly disappointing and uplifting at the same time. Personally I think Brett Ratner's take looks like it would be better developed than Bryan Singer's previous two. I mean, Singer just seemed to be catering to the trendwhore fairweather fans than the loyal following. Even as he said, "I was just looking for any excuse I could to get a naked girl in there." Any thoughts? |

Hooray, I'm finally feeling a thousand times less under the weather. Not high in the sky yet, but I'm not praying for death anymore.
That and Zoso's sister is now sick. Booya!! |

Somewhere down the line you just might regret cutting your mother out of your life, so try not to make such decisions impulsively.
Sure your sister was a bit impatient, but that's siblings for you. My boyfriend's sister lays claim to everything in the house despite the fact that she's never paid for anything herself in her life and is only 12, so I know how it is to have someone insisting that your abusing their resources when such is not the case. Perhaps you should talk to your mom. I also know firsthand what it's like to have a parental figure that's interested in getting to your money; my boyfriend has the same problem sometimes. She doesn't mean to be that way, but when money's tight and you get it in your head that you paid for everything for your kids when they were unable to pay for themselves and you begin to feel that you deserves a little restitution, you do stupid things. No court would take her suit seriously if you already replaced the window. The whole death threat thing does need to be addressed, though. Seriously, talk to your family. It sounds like someone's dillusional in the mix. (Last edited by Rogue on 12-13-05 05:19 PM) |

Originally posted by ~|Kyo|~ As much as I am pleased to see Phoenix, the Phoenix Saga is just so long and intense. She looks really good, though. ^_~ Originally posted by The Politician I've heard from a lot of fans that they were happy to not see Gambit pop up in any of the movies and though I sometimes fall in with the screaming girls wanting to see him, I gotta side with the comic book guys of America that don't want him in the movies. In truth, were you to list all of the important mutants of the team, Gambit doesn't fall in the top 10. Storm, either. Although, were they to cover the Age of Apocalypse saga, Gambit would be somewhat necessary since he was the last surviving X-Man, the father of Bishop, and the suspect killer of the other X-Men. Originally posted by Elara Angel, but I was thrilled to see him. He, Marvel Girl (Jean Gray), Cyclops, Beast, and IceMan were the original X-Men and I was like, "YES! Finally they're all there!!" upon seeing him spread his wings. (Last edited by Rogue on 12-12-05 07:23 PM) |

When I read that I thought you were implying that of the "28" shep you were asking how many didn't get eaten or something to that effect.
Makes sense now. |

Wow, Xeo, sounds like a party. Drinkin' AND Ron Jeremy. Maybe Kansas isn't so bad. ^_~
Now that you've finally taken that alcohol cherry of yours, it wasn't so bad now was it? Honestly, I didn't start drinking until I was 18. Just didn't get around to it. I know how it is to be the no drinking-no smoking-no drugs-(hell even no sex) person in high school. That was me up until I was 18. I mean, I'm still drug-free, but a little of drinkin' and sex isn't such a bad thing. ^_~ |

A doujin soft group calling themselves "Game Programming Study Club" has created the most Japanese fighting game EVER. Line-Kill Spirits is a 3D fighting game that features little girls beating up on each other; nothing new there. The kicker, however, is that any damage you do to your opponent will slowly regenerate unless wait for it you take a picture of her panties. Yes. A fighting game where panty-shots are the core mechanic. You don't believe me, do you? Then watch the VIDEO (and ANOTHER). That's it. The Japanese are done. They can now return to planet Japania, leaving all the people of Earth horribly confused and scarred for life. (Last edited by Rogue on 12-14-05 03:09 AM) |

Fast-Food Company to Drop Logo After Muslims Gripe By Patrick Goodenough CNSNews.com International Editor (CNSNews.com) - In the latest example of Western business interests giving in to pressure by offended Muslims, Burger King reportedly has withdrawn an ice cream product after complaints that a label design looks like the Arabic script for "Allah." British media reported at the weekend that the fast-food restaurant chain pulled the "BK Cone" and pledged to redesign the label after Muslim customers complained. The product label bears a pattern representing a stylized swirl of soft serve ice cream. But some customer looked at it sideways and thought they could see something else. A London tabloid, The Sun, said Burger King fielded "dozens of complaints." Another paper, the Scotsman, said Burger King "is being forced to spend thousands of pounds redesigning the lid." It quoted a Muslim Council of Britain spokesman as commending the company for "sensitive and prompt action." Other business interests that have run afoul of Muslim sensibilities in similar circumstances include sportswear giant Nike, Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld and food and homecare manufacturer Unilever. In 1997, Nike pulled tens of thousands of basketball shoes after it was told that the logo - the word "air" in flame-like letters - looked like "Allah" in Arabic when viewed from a certain angle. Newsweek reported in July of that year that Nike had launched a program of "sensitivity training on Islam" and gave a donation to an Islamic school. A year later, Unilever scrapped a new logo it had begun to use on Walls ice creams in the Middle East - again after Muslims said the intertwining red and yellow hearts looked like "Allah" in Arabic, when viewed upside down and backwards. In 1994, Lagerfeld designed a dress incorporating a pattern he had copied from Arabic lettering on India's Taj Mahal monument. The lettering included the phrase "They are the ones who found guidance," used a number of times in the Koran. German supermodel Claudia Schiffer received death threats after wearing the dress, prompting her mother to make a public plea for her safety. The designer apologized and burned the garments. He also destroyed photographs and negatives of the dress. Coca Cola has for years struggled to dispel the rumor that the soft drink's trademark swirly-writing logo, when seen at a particular angle, looked like the Arabic script for "No Mohammed, No Mecca." The company's website has a "myths and rumors" section where it contests the charge, arguing that "the trademark was created in 1886 in Atlanta, Georgia, at a time and place where there was little knowledge of Arabic." "The allegation has been brought before a number of senior Muslim clerics in the Middle East who researched it in detail and refuted the rumor outright," it says. Power outage darkens Las Vegas Strastosphere tower
ASSOCIATED PRESS LAS VEGAS (AP) - The power is back on at the Stratosphere hotel-casino and the surrounding neighborhood, after crossed wires shut down a circuit for more than an hour Tuesday evening. Riders on the X Scream, a thrill ride that juts 27 feet off the edge of the Stratosphere tower, were stranded on the ride while crews tried to pinpoint the problem. Nevada Power spokesman Gabriel Romero said 215 customers, including the Stratosphere, were without power for about an hour and fifteen minutes. During that time, emergency generators kept the lights and slot machines operating inside the hotel and casino. The outage was triggered when a telephone wire crossed a power wire, Romero said. "It could have been wind related. We don't know how it happened," he said. "All we had to do was go out there and get it powered back up." A Stratosphere spokesman did not immediately return calls for comment. Well now my question is... why are people dangling for a fuckin' HOUR AND 15 MINUTES with emergency generators routed to the slot machines? (Last edited by Rogue on 12-14-05 03:03 PM) |

I agree with this in that I'd rather several topics that I start are not meant for Debate, though they tend to be moved there for various reasons.
When Debate, with the original name "Current Events", was first started it was meant for news and feature articles to also be placed there. However with the demand for the forum to have a "snappy" name, the idea of what the forum also meant for news and such went out the window. A separation isn't a bad idea. Found on Yahoo! India:
Breast implants may soon carry MP3 players! London, Oct.14(ANI): Music may one day be very close to a woman's chest, with BT futurology which manufactures computer chips that store music, creating a MP3 player that can be implanted into a woman's breasts. And while one breast could hold an MP3 player, the other the person's favourite music collection. BT Laboratories' analyst Ian Pearson said flexible plastic electronics would sit inside the breast. A signal would be relayed to headphones, while the device would be controlled by Bluetooth using a panel on the wrist. "It is now very hard for me to thing of breast implants as just decorative. If a woman has something implanted permanently, it might as well do something useful," The Sun quoted Ian Pearson as saying. The senors around the body linked through the electrical impulses in the chips may also be able to warn wearers about heart murmurs, blood pressure increases, diabetes and breast cancer. The company said it could be available within 15 years.(ANI) |
