She's on her way to Florida to do some all-nude stripping as a promo for her masturbation video.

Watching this 1950s musical, Jupiter's Darling. Figures they'd have Howard Keel being the handsome lead who gets the girl.
|
Pretty nice underwater sequence.

Spoiler:
Yep, no more Duck Sauce. It was a much more satisfying ending than season 1, which is great. You want the show to keep getting better. Spoiler:
Wish there could have been more with Arya, Gendry, and Hot Pie, but it would have taken time from the other necessary things. Although I was never really attached to him, I was just so sad when Luwin was speared. At least he got to see Bran and Rickon one last time and Osha gave him a quick death after that. Luwin was just such a good guy, and killing him was so pointless. Then again, they're Ironborn and they can be shitty people who'll just kill because they felt like it. Ah, Theon. Even though he's such an irrational kid, I can't help but feel sorry for him all the time, and I tend to like him no matter what. I don't know what to think about Robb's marriage. I'm hearing Talisa wasn't in the books, but Marty was telling me there was some woman he was with in the book (he couldn't remember her name saying he thought it was Jane or something). Was Harrenhal the castle Baelish had been wanting? When Tyrion was lying to him about Theon marrying Cersei's daughter he made some promise of a castle to him. I think it was Harrenhal. But to further go over Baelish, I really hope he keeps his promise to Sansa, though I highly doubt he will. Varys was right when he said to Ros that Baelish looks at her as a profitable collection of holes. And chances are that's what he sees Sansa as. I mean, considering his connections with Lysa Arryn... Little Finger's got a thing for Tully women. EDIT: io9 has a piece on what they consider to be the best changes from the book: http://io9.com/5915744/10-best-changes-game-of-thrones-made-to-a-clash-of-kings?utm_campaign=socialflow_io9_facebook&utm_source=io9_facebook&utm_medium=socialflow I read it and then avoided the comments, since those tend to be rife with spoilers. Yeah, I was a very stupid kid when it came to the ways of the world. Oddly enough I was much smarter than I am now regarding everything else.

Watching Venus crossing in front of the sun right now. Later tonight we might go watch the grunion run. Nothing much like watching an astronomical event followed by a fish bukkake fest. (Last edited by Rogue on 06-06-12 01:10 AM) (restricted) |

Speak of the trolls.

Well that was a riveting year there, of people posting and reposting that video. Definitely preferred it to Rick Astley.

This has just hit a point where I can't help but laugh, because really, laughing beats getting angry.

I feel sorry for her children, and they deserve a better parent, but I guess one could say she's making all the sacrifices she can to keep them afloat. This time offering up her dignity. I try to remind myself that she had these children because she had 8 embryos left and if she didn't use them or pay to keep them frozen on a monthly basis, they would jab them with a needle and kill them in a less-than-humane way. She decided to try to carry these last embryos so they wouldn't face such a fate and her doctor kept her pumped up on hormones and fertility drugs. I'm not saying she was a hero for this, and I definitely don't admire her, but there was some method to her madness. Still, after carrying all 8, plus the 6 she had prior, you'd think she'd offer some of them up for adoption. (restricted) | (restricted) |

Man, when this forum was created, I was an admin. That was a long time ago.
|
Since this forum doesn't get much activity past new threads created and very few comments is it time to do away with it?

Bump, because talking history is awesome.

I went to vote today and while waiting outside our polling place for my parents and Brandon to get done voting, I pulled out my eclipse glasses and continued watching the Venus transit. While I was out there one of the poll workers came out and we started chatting as I let him and a few other people use my glasses to look at Venus too. He and I started talking about French astronomer Guillaume Le Gentil, who spent 8 years traveling the world for a good place he could watch the Venus transit of 1769. His journey was fraught with peril. After building his own little observatory, the day of the transit it was dark and overcast and he didn't get to see it. When he returned home, he discovered he was assumed dead, he'd lost his job, all of his possessions had been divvied up by his family, his wife had re-married, and he pretty much lost everything. The poll worker who was telling me all of this, then laughed as he handed me the eclipse glasses back, thanking me for him not having to undergo all of that bullshit to see Venus' silhouette. It's really surreal.

Ray Bradbury just died. Last weekend, Brandon, Stitch, and I happened to visit his future gravesite and stood over it joking about the times we'd seen him in public (the time we saw him at Long Beach City College he fell asleep mid-interview and couldn't keep track of things he was asked). It was like we'd had our own memorial service beforehand. R.I.P. (restricted) |

I should amend my "people hate L.A." statement to "this is why everybody hates Hollywood."
|
Hollywood has no tenuous hold over me, and I've just come to despise the majority of it. The Hollywood attitudes and personalities stand apart from Los Angeles itself. You're my hero with how much you work, Elara. Are you and Ben going to be free any other time than the bonfire? It's looking like I won't be able to make it Saturday. Originally posted by Elara I know, right? Makes me proud. So Terminal Island was named one of the country's most endangered historical places. No surprise since used to be a Japanese fishing village before World War II, but I figured all of that was plowed under when they locked all of those people up at Manzanar (which I've had the mixed pleasure of getting to visit). Is the forum running slow for anyone else? It's only the board for me, while all other sites (except for Deviant Art) are running normally.
|
Seems like it takes 5-30 minutes for pages to load.

I'm not sure if you're serious, be it in your content quality or your choice to bump a thread from 2005 where the majority of the members involved have been inactive for 5+ years.
|
But if so, I'm about 99.999999999% sure Elara was posting in jest. Secondly, please stop posting in threads older than dirt. It is against our forum rules to allow threads like this to be bumped. Please consider this a warning. |
