Well folks im gonna be straight with you.

I was away at college. I was enjoying my time there, and then it all came crashing down at one instant.

While I was driving down the road to go back to my apartment, I was hit head on by a drunk driver.

He had alot to drink and couldnt even almost say his name. My neck, chest and left leg hurt and I blacked out for 2 seconds.

I remember waiting in the hospital for 3 days. The first night I was there I was in a neckbrace and was on a stretcher. It wasnt fun to say the least. I had a cathader put into.........find out for yourselves if you dont know.

It came to be that I had 3 cracked ribs, a horribly bruised leg and burn marks around my neck. Not to mention, cuts and bruises from the seatbelt, but that saved my life.

I ended up back home, and having to get a full time job until the next school session starts for college here.

So the lesson here is dont drink and drive, I was lucky, but someone else, might not be.

Benja that is horrible! Wow, well, at least you are okay and that is what matters. It sucks that the semester got messed up for you though, it really does.

So did he at least have insurance?

At first he said he didnt have any.

He got 4 citations that night. He had an arrest warrant out for him because of the DWI.

The only reason he is not in jail is because his brother is a constable.

A Constable? We still have those in this country?

Dude, honestly that blows. I guess that means that you have to pay to fix your car youself then? Unless it was totaled, in which case I am really sorry to hear about that.

Oh trust me, it was gone. The whole front end was smashed in. I cant even begin to tell you how many EMT's were astounded that I survived that wreck.

That is completely wrong he should have gone to jail or drink driving. Just goes to show how corrupt the police system is.

I'm sorry to hear Benja, I do hope your feeling okies now.

Dude that just blows, I'm really sorry to hear that happened to you. I hope that you are ok and everything. And that guy should have gone to jail, thats just not right that he didn't because his brother was a cop, damn the corruption of this world. Anyway hope you are ok and all that good stuff.

It is wrong, absolutely wrong. That is how society works though. He even tried to call me to see how I was doing.....Like I really want to talk to him, he was the one that put me outta commission, he was the one that made my ribs the way they are right now. I really want to go there and cuff him myself, but I cant do that. If only cops werent so crooked.

I will keep everyone who reads this updated on my condition as it comes along, im supposed to go back to the doctor soon.

i dunno, maybe he's not in jail because he's out on bail....? you cant just claim that the only reason why he's not in jail is because his bro is a constable... there's many factors that can lead to him being free. but like i said, maybe he's just out on bail. and plus, like you said yourself, he was drunk, it's not like he was gunning for you because your car looked all pretty and shiny. he's prob really sorry and wanted to apologize. dont always assume the worst in people, even tho you are right and he's wrong. two wrongs do not make a right.

I'm sorry to hear about this, Benja, but I think I'm with Avatar of Law here.. although I agree with you as well. My cousin was run over by a drunk driver, killed, and the driver only got rehab and probation for 6 months.

We had a program at school yesterday called "Every 15 minutes.." It was a mock car crash in which 5 people died. There were fireman, police, the supposedly drunk driver, a helicopter, they even had the jaws of life to pry open the car doors. The 5 people who died were 'popular' people. There was all sorts of stage makeup, and the people on the 'scene' did what they would normally do in this situation. They closed off a very busy street to do this.. was very interesting. Kind of sad to know that this type of thing happens so often.

Belial I must admit that sounds like a cool program... of course I also like it just because they kill off the popular kids, heh heh heh.

It was sad today though, because they held a 'memorial service' for all of us to watch. The mothers of the 'dead' kids wrote a letter to their kids and read it out loud, and the 'dead' kids read a letter to their parents. Very emotional. One of the girls I knew, and she started bawling when she was reading this letter to her mom. They showed a video of what happened too. From when they left the scene, in the ambulance and helicopter to the E.R.. It was so realistic it was scary.. So many people were crying.. and I couldn't for some reason. Probably because I have too much death related to drinking in my life.. or that I knew that they weren't really dead.

yeah, they had that at my skewl last year. they do it once every two years for every skewl. the enactment is pretty kewl, but one of the main actor we had was screwing the entire thing up on purpose -.-' i hated him, he said all his lines like a dumbass and he sorta looked like the napolean dynamite character... i wanted to kill him so bad... anyways, overall, it was kewl. too bad weeks later, people forget all about it. and oh yeah, when they got the kids and parents reading their letters in front of each other, of course i was bawling

Sorry for the bump here

Elara it's not nice to have popular kids killed off by Drunk Driving. The popular kids serve an important purpose in school life.Either the Drunk Driver goes to rehab doesn't drink anymore or goes to Jail. You could also end up in Jail saying what you said here in a public.

Elara the part in your post. Of coures I also like it just because they can kill off the popular kids.heh heh heh. Was not nice at all.The popular kids serve a purpose for school.

I'm not sure if you're serious, be it in your content quality or your choice to bump a thread from 2005 where the majority of the members involved have been inactive for 5+ years.

But if so, I'm about 99.999999999% sure Elara was posting in jest.

Secondly, please stop posting in threads older than dirt.

It is against our forum rules to allow threads like this to be bumped. Please consider this a warning.
