Anyway. The friend who asked me to do a photo manipulation of Mikael Åkerfeldt (where I made him my own interpretation of a mantygre) today posted to the edited version I did:
I just responded back, "Sorry I fucked up." Yeah, sorry I took your request and made you something for free which apparently wasn't up to your standards and therefore not worthy of sharing. God, fuck you. Also, I'm sick of her calling him "Micke," which is the name of her cat whom she's trying to claim is named for Mikael, but is actually named for a piece of furniture from IKEA. As mentioned on Facebook, my boyfriend got invited to meet Kirk Hammett at Comic-Con this past weekend and he wanted to print out the merman manipulation I did of Kirk just for shits and give it to him.

The original would have printed out really small, so I redid it in a mad rush on Wednesday afternoon before driving down to San Diego. And here's the new edition:

This is something I've noticed in every Matrix movie (including the Animatrix), Sucker Punch, and countless movies, games, and anime shows -- the three-point landing.

I'd notice it all the time. Someone would do this crazy jump/fall and gracefully land -- sometimes genuflecting -- with their hand flat to the ground or in a fist, and then they'd do this dramatic look up. (Last edited by Rogue on 07-17-12 09:45 PM)

Yeah, I think it's just a mythical movie landing that's carried over into every aspect of pop culture like people slowly walking away from explosions.

Finally watched the season finale of Metalocalypse. I fucking hate these 11 minute episodes. They must be longer!

So the bigger picture is finally falling into place regarding the people who are constantly monitoring Dethklok, why they're such a huge influence on the world, etc. Seriously, it was a great season.

So the panel at Comic-Con. It wasn't all that happening since they only had a handful of cast and no season 3 footage (since they're filming it right at this moment), but they put up a video with the new cast members coming in.

Since I haven't read the books yet, I wasn't sure what I was seeing (though Gina was admonishing that a few of these people simply didn't look right. Can't remember which ones to whom she was referring).

At the end when George says they have one brief preview it was a 10-second video of the Game of Thrones logo with season 3, followed by a card that said "Coming Soon!" They also played a 5 minute recap of season two, plus the video that was embedded in the last post. You aren't allowed to record things that they show you on the screen, but HBO put those videos online right as they screened them at the panel.

Currently reading a free sample book I picked up at Comic-Con with essays in it about Game of Thrones and The hunger Games.

The GoT one is a sample chapter from a book called Beyond the Wall. Right now it's focusing on the romanticism aspects of the books asserting critiques like that Jaime Lannister is a Byronic hero and that Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen are considered by many to be the most romantic couple in the entire series. So far it's not really spoilerish, despite there being a few choice quotes from books still be to covered by the TV series. The Hunger Games sample chapter was interesting. It was this woman trying to figure out what Panem (the country in which the entire series takes place) would look like and speculate the anthropological and socio-economic aspects of Katniss' world. Since Panem is supposed to be this country that "rose from the ashes of a place one known as North America," the author is guessing what Panem would be shaped like if our continent experienced extreme earthquakes and other natural disasters, the rise of the ocean due to global warming, etc. Since there's no year tagged to when the events of the Hunger Games occur the author bases everything on her own little theories. Again, it's interesting, but it's almost more of a fan fiction than a true analysis.

It makes me smile. Thomas Jane is one of my celeb crushes, and while most people hated the Punisher movie he starred in, he himself was not bad in it. Many people argue that Punisher War Zone was a better movie since it's more violent and more "Punisher-like." This sort of comes off like a fuck you to those people, and I LOVE it.

Link I'm simultaneously happy and annoyed with them. Happy to see a lot of things I love up there, but not even one nom for House M.D. following it's final season? Really?! I mean, they've passed up Hugh Laurie every year, almost like a, "We've got tons of opportunities to give him best actor so we'll hold on him for now." Granted, House had a rough couple of seasons, but if Friday Night Lights could run away with as many awards as it had last year just because it was their last season, there should be some love for House. Guh....
