That's talent, grrl.
Fact: I just tried the home remedy my boss recommended of chopping up some cloves of garlic and drinking them down with tea. Let's see if it helps. |

I've had my fair share. I guess I'll go with the dick-shaped giant purple bruise on my ass from falling down the stairs the second time. Looks like my stairs gave me a the cockslap to end all cockslaps.
You've got a serious cold. What do you do to treat it? |

Thanks. I sort of do after spending the day laying in bed, off and on sleeping. First time I've done that in a long time. Sort of makes me miss being unemployed.

I've been sick, and all I've been feeling like eating is a bowl of half-Honey Nut Cheerios, half-regular Cheerios.

Just watched the Al Pacino version of "The Merchant of Venice," after years of people telling me to see that one. Seems like I was most told to see it after Stitch and I went to a production in San Diego that was markedly antisemitic. It got to the point that people in the cast would thickly pour on the anti-Jewish sentiments and the audience we saw it with, comprised of 75% senior citizens, was quick to cry in agreement.
This version was pretty good, and even though Shylock was still shown as more of a villain, it was more out of his character and want of vengeance and not the fact that he's Jewish. It also made me want to go back to Venice, more so. |

Jesus fucking Christ. Had to do a run before lunch to pick up clients' meals from a restaurant a few blocks away and had to walk. It was sunny with just a drop of rain hitting my face as I got to the place. I pay, gather the foods and sodas in the cardboard holder, turn around and it's fucking pouring.
By the time I got back to the center I was feverish and dizzy. I'm not so bad now, but fuck me running for that hour or so that I felt like that. |

Frankly, I have no clue what I would do other than just bear with it if he did rise to Commander-in-Chief. I'm not going to shrink away from voting either way. I'm still putting in my votes at the primary next month and election in November.
Why? Because so goddamned many people fought for my right to do it, and I'll be damned if I don't at least honor their efforts and throw my own little drop into the bucket. |

Well, shit.
Fact: I wear a lot of dresses and skirts on the weekends, sort of as a fuck you to work, where I'm almost always wearing jeans and required to wear closed-toed shoes. |

Watched the Kentucky Derby earlier, since it was on at the bar at which we were eating lunch. A horse with 2-to-1 odds on it won. No surprises or upsets for anyone.

Went ahead and watched it early without Brandon since he would be getting off work at 11:30 tonight, so yeah anyone who was planning on spoiling tonight's can fuck off.
Tonight's episode definitely had its share of moments. Spoiler: R.I.P. Shaggydog (Last edited by Rogue on 05-15-16 01:01 PM) |

I unintentionally made Brandon cry today.
I was rambling on about my grandparents' funerals while we were running errands. I can't remember how I ended up on that topic. At a certain point I realized I'd been talking way too much and asked him about his grandfather's funeral. He told me a few details I'd never heard before (like how it was on a boat) and then suddenly trailed off. I look over and his lip is twitching. He was wearing sunglasses and driving. I reached over and held his hand and apologized for apparently bringing up a tender subject. Brandon was 18 at the time and got choked up saying that while they were passing the urn around so everyone could say something to the grandfather, he said he wished he knew him better. At least Bran got to go on this sailing trip to Mexico, just him, his dad, and his grandfather. He said he'd just never gone over the events of the day before. Finally sat down and watched Kenneth Branagh's "Henry V." I think I need to watch the two parts of "Henry IV" to explain some of the flashbacks of Harry drinking with Falstaff and such.

Southern California is currently living with one very schizophrenic weather god.
It's been going back and forth between cold and rainy and hot and sunny by the hour and from neighborhood to neighborhood. On Friday I had to go walk down to one of the relatively close-by restaurants to pick up clients' lunches. When I left the center it was sunny, but on reaching the restaurant I felt a couple drops of water hit my face. I went in, paid, picked up the food, and turned around to a veritable typhoon. Walked back to the center and by the time I got there was soaked and feverish and feeling dizzy. It was like this all weekend when I had a photo assignment. It would just start raining when moments ago the sunny was shining in a clear blue sky. Or it would be gloriously overcast and cool and then suddenly scorching hot and humid. |

Originally posted by Elara Seems to be. She had abdominal pain for a week. I told her to maybe get checked out at urgent care while we were sitting down to Mother's Day brunch. She said she thought it might be her ovaries (frankly, I've been worried about that too since she frequently uses talcum powder and they've been saying it's causing ovarian cancer.) She went and they rushed her to the ER, making a big ado about how they should call for an ambulance to bring her the few hundred yards. Anyway, blood test, CT scan, and sonogram all turned up normal. No infections, no tumors, etc. No one knows what's causing it, but she seems to be better. They were just in the hospital for most of the day only to find out nothing. In other news, FUCK that helicopter that was hovering DIRECTLY OVER MY HOUSE off and on starting at 5 A.M. and going into 8. It hit the point that I would go out and just hold up my middle fingers and occasionally it made like it was going to leave, but would just circle back and hover RIGHT FUCKING ABOVE ME again. We figured it was a news chopper, and Brandon says while flipping through channels he figures it's probably about Lakewood since there was one passing story about a body found in a house there. WHAT THE FUCK IS IT DOING OVER OUR HOUSE IN CERRITOS MANY FUCKING BLOCKS FROM THE GODDAMN MURDER SCENE?! (Last edited by Rogue on 05-15-16 12:47 PM) |

I'm still more concerned with the fact that it seems to be OK with everyone that the Supreme Court will occasionally have tied votes going through the next year.
