Haha, well, Bernie seems like a nice guy, and I definitely think that out of everyone still in the race, he has the most integrity. But, that said, I really don't agree with any of his political positions. (Last edited by Lord Vulkas Mormonus on 05-12-16 07:52 AM) |

I'm still more concerned with the fact that it seems to be OK with everyone that the Supreme Court will occasionally have tied votes going through the next year.

I've been on the Bernie train myself and it's already over if you give up before it's over! So... we'll see.

There is a good chance he will take California... but I don't think it will be enough. Even then, as I have stated elsewhere... the misogyny that his campaign has sparked worries me. I know that he, himself does not condone such things... but the lack of condemnation bothers me.

It looks like the Berne has cooled. Clintin has declared herself the nominee after getting enough delegates to win the election. Yeah, I know the super delegates technically haven't voted, but they're not going to go against her.
My wife says that she's going to write in Kasich because she hates them both, haha. I'm sad to say that as a practical conservative, I'm in a tight spot. |

The Neo-Conservatives are for Hillary because she more matches up with their ideologies. I mean, what does that tell you?
Still, I'd rather take that over someone who's endorsed by a majority of the American hate groups, makes fun of the disabled, is currently attacking a judge simply for being "Mexican" saying it's OK because he'd be equally pissed with the guy if he was Muslim, and has inspired hate speech to be considered acceptable among the American people because, "Hey, we're just telling it like it is." The First Amendment protects your right to say what you want -- to a point -- and not get arrested. You're protected from the government here. However, it DOES NOT defend you from the criticism and other reactions of the American people, who are allowed their right to say what they want, as well, through Fair Comment. If someone calls you a "jackass" for saying you think we should deport all people of a particular heritage, they're not impeding on your First Amendment right, sir. They could have put together a much more thought-out response, but maybe they figured someone who'd say something like that needed a more concise reactionary statement? Anyway, I'm not addressing anyone on this board with those last two paragraphs, but rather everyone I've seen complain, "I thought this was America, and I can say whatever I want! I've got the First Amendment!" You sure do, bucko, and so do the rest of us. |

Yeah... just because you've got to the right to say it doesn't mean we can't call you a douchebag for it.
I just hope the burners don't put Trump in the White House out of spite. |

Originally posted by Rogue Also, the guy's a native citizen of the US. Not that it'd be better morally or ethically if he were actually Mexican, but at least it would've had factual accuracy on one point. My problem with Sanders' supporters as well as Trump's is that neither of them seem to get how governance actually works. The president does not simply legislate into Mordor. That's the job of Congress. You know, the legislative branch. My problem with Sanders more specifically is, look at the last eight years. Do you honestly think there's even the faintest chance of accomplishing anything that he wants to? Unlike in a lot of cases, I do think he genuinely wants what he said he does, but if you'll forgive some crassness I want a blowjob from Larkin Love; reality isn't exactly aligning that way, now is it? Also, he could've been a lot better about dealing with his more insane supporters. If he had been, maybe there wouldn't be so many of them talking about throwing in with Trump. My problems with Trump, where to fucking begin. I've never seen someone so eminently unqualified. To openly use your own racism to question a judge's qualifications is not something that should be accepted, ever. The man has literally had casinos go bankrupt - plural. A casino's as close as you can legally get to printing money short of working at the Federal Mint, and yet here we are. How the fuck are people swallowing his "I'm a great business man" bullshit? Literally all he's good at is marketing himself and fucking people over for his own benefit - see also, Trump University. He claims he'd pick "the best people", but when does he intend to start? He should've already had someone properly handling the issues of "white nationalist" groups actively campaigning for him, not to mention this magical bit of incompetence. If, that is, "incompetence" is what it actually is - far more likely given recent remarks is that he's intentionally courting the racists. And maybe, just maybe, he'd be able to come up with some less transparent excuses. So that leaves Hillary, or the libertarian maybe. Ah, Libertarians. Where to begin, where to begin... How about here. Yeah, there's a lot of reasons I dislike the Libertarian movement. I'd elaborate more, but I'm already getting to be a bit wordier than I intended. But more to the point, look at what I've said about Trump, compare that to my previous statements on politics - it shouldn't be many because I normally try to avoid the subject. It should be pretty obvious that to me, the most important thing right now is to make sure that egotistical asshole never sets foot in the White House. Oh, Libertarians....
So... did you guys see the reactions to what Trump said the day after the Brexit vote when he was in Scotland? I think that we should adopt some of their insults. But seriously... he terrifies me. In other news, we have a partial endorsement of Hillary from Bernie... I am sure an official one will follow the convention. I am happy that he is fighting for a more progressive platform, even though he has largely accepted that he will not be getting the nomination. What are your guys' thoughts on the rumors of Elizabeth Warren being Clinton's running mate? |

While that'd be cool, I doubt it's going to happen.
Trump's looking to get the would-be governor of Indiana as a running mate. Kind of surprised he didn't go bigger. |

I find the choice of VP for both sides uninspired. I get why Clinton chose Kaine, though. While Bernie supporters would have liked a more liberal choice, like Warren... going with Kaine can help her pull those center and left leaning Republicans that are outright terrified of Trump and Pence.

I think she may also be targeting Virginia specifically - before Obama won the state, it was solidly Republican for about 40 years. Keeping Virginia also makes the electoral college math harder for Trump.

No surprise at all.
So I watched her speech tonight. It was good... I think it would have been better without so many jabs at Trump and more on goals. Also, damn she likes Katy Perry.... Also, not sure who won the battle for most balloons... but did anyone else think that Bill Clinton looked like a kid in a candy store as he was tossing them around? |

So... we are two Presidential "Debates" and one VP "Debate" in... what are your thoughts so far?
Notice I put the word debate in quotation marks. |

I've already been locked in for this election and have been since the primaries wrapped.
Not that I would have been opposed to changing my vote on the big day if the other candidate proved more promising, but he hasn't. Apparently Glenn Beck feels the same. |

Yeah... you know you are doing something wrong when you are the Republican candidate and Glenn Beck has turned his back on you.
