Their "Dark Saga" album is pretty damn bad (no offense). FINALLY though, I recently got a few of their older ones that rock my face off. The classic "Night of the Stormrider" and "Burnt Offerings" are much heavier, thrashier, and awesome. I've heard they do shows with Blind Guardian a lot, man that would rock my face if I saw that.

Tim Owens is a pretty awesome vocalist. He also sang for a 1993 release from Winters Bane. Sadly their myspace doesn't have any old songs off that album he did vocals on, but just check out their new 2006 album, its pretty killer above average power metal. (Seal the Light is amazing).

The vocalist there for Winters Bane is Alex Koch, one of my new favorites. He's also active with Powergod, another really awesome band I've gotten into recently.
Powergod - Back to Attack (off of Evilution II). Awesome song, catchy as heck.

You tried to ignore
Welcome to war
What are you going to do
No second opinion
On our dominion
Fuck you, we're Powergod
And who are you?

Just wait for the solo. Oh my god I love these guys.

Yeah, I'm envious.

If his voice is like that at 17, I can only imagine it'd develop into an even greater voice over the next few years. There were a few parts where he still sounded obviously young, but yeah, really impressive.

(Michael Kiske, vocalist for Helloween's Keeper of the Seven Keys albums was 18 or 19 when he sang for those albums. Crazy).

Gothic Knights

Sounds pretty good. US Melodic progressive metal from its 90's timezone. The Vocalist sounds SERIOUSLY like someone I know.

Dungeon

Power SPEED metal. Seriously, I think the guy who is the drummer is seriously buff in his leg region. But anyways, good lyrics, extremely fast, and the vocalist is sheer amazing.

Human Fortress

Oh my God, Epic melodic Metal. Sounds like the vocalist from Hammerfall mixed with the music from an extremely gentle Kiuas.

Inner Wish

Progressive melodic metal. Sounds epic, but I dont like the drummer. Its ok for a listen, but the reviews from what ive gotten arent that good. But I like it.

I've known about Gothic Knights for awhile, pretty good but they never really reach "awesome" status for me or anything.

Dungeon seems like my kind of shiz. (apparently they split up though? )

Human Fortress sounds really impressive.

InnerWish seems good.

lol?

Well I'm a recent convert to Metal... so I may be able to help.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned them yet... but I'm kind of fond of Kamelot. I really don't know how good they are as I haven't heard much else... but I'm changing that every day.

Sweet. I'm not big on them personally, but they're pretty good quality metal. I have a feeling you'd really like Symphony X since you like Kamelot. Look into their 'The Odyssey' release.

Well, either way, This thread shall be, and will be stickied. For many dragons were slain, and more soon to come.

But now, here are some more awesome bands for you to take a gander on!

Threshold.

Progressive metal that delivers a smooth, crisp, an welcome feeling to the metal that is being delivered today. Nuclear Blast records, which is one of my favorite production markets, but this band is delivering all sorts of kick-assery. Like a Mixture of Luca Turilli meets Blind Guardian in a sence (few of their songs). WELL worth the time to listen.

There is also a new Nightwish albulm due out soon...Too bad the female vocalist got her ass kicked to the curb

SABATON

My God, I heard them on Metal storm Radio and I was AMAZED by the music they deliver. Take a listen to them, especially the song Primo Victoria. It will make you headbang for its glorious epicness.

By the way Xeo, if one day you and I could listen to the radio station, I have a few other bands I can request for you to hear.
