I can't barely sleep in the afternoon anymore every time I wake up way early in the morning. And every time I tried to wake up, I can't even move my body or even speak.
It hurts my body so damn much and felt like my soul is trying to escape my body. My feeling's is kinda strange too. (Last edited by insectduel on 09-04-07 06:28 PM) |

Sleep paralysis. I can relate to you, insectduel. I've had that experience plenty of times. Although with me I never felt any pain. It is a strange experience, sometimes scary even. You're awake, but your eyes are closed. You can't move any part of your body, at all. You try to speak, but nothing. All you can do is breathe hard, trying to get your vocal cords to work, but it's as if you never had any. You also hear your own heart beating. It's like you have your ear on your chest. So you lay there, completely aware of your surroundings, eyes closed, but with the effect of having your spinal cord severed from the base of your skull on down. Somehow, however, I manage to slip out of it. I try so hard to move my body, just to shake it or turn my self over and eventually it works. I open my eyes right away and am careful of how I fall asleep afterward. I haven't had sleep paralysis for quite sometime, but I'm pretty sure I haven't had it for the last time.
There's actually a reason why that happens, and while I forgot the whole explanation, it involves your brain going into sleep mode and shutting down your muscles so that you don't act out your dreams. Somehow you haven't gone into REM sleep yet. It almost like your brains goes into that mode a little too early, or it could be that you become awake wrong. Either way, there's nothing to be afraid of if it happens. It's just your brain slipping up. |

Hmm I think I've experienced something like this as well. Like it feels as if my whole body is numb and really heavy right after I wake up. Yet when I look back on how I was sleeping, it feels as if the dreaming world was more real than real life. That part could just be because of vivid dreams though. ^^jj |
