| I remember being really into Elizabeth, the first movie, when it came out the same year as Shakespeare in Love. I was horribly annoyed that Gwenyth Paltrow won Best Actress over Cate Blanchett (ironically, both ladies starred opposite Joseph Fiennes, who wasn't nominated for anything).

| See, that was when the believability went out the window for me. I wondered why they were suddenly splicing Queen Elizabeth I with Joan of Arc, but oh well.
It's funny. A couple years back, I remember pondering on it being cool if there were a sequel made for Elizabeth because I wanted to see her dealings with Philip II and Sir Francis Drake, but hey, close enough with Raleigh.  |
