Alright, this game seriously needs it's own thread. I know a few here have recently converted as I did about two months ago!

Simply put this is one of the best multiplayer FPS's I've ever played. It's one of those FPS's where I don't really care about getting killed ... unlike most, if you know what I mean? It's fun!

And definitely put your past experiences with the Call of Duty series aside, if they were negative. I myself hated CoD2 when it came out, as a launch title for the 360 it didn't impress me at all. CoD3 didn't interest me a bit, but then along came 4. This one is "Modern Warfare" and I'd say a large majority of the guns could be compared to stuff you've seen in Counter Strike and it's amazing.

While the single player is pretty damn short (one of the shortest campaign's I've played), it's very epic. Some of the scenes in the game are downright crazy and stuff you've probably never seen in a game before, you could just tell there was a lot of work put into it.

But online is definitely where it's at. I just hit level 55, the max level after like 30 some hours online in 2 months. Pretty crazy. After level 55 you have the option of going "Prestige" and starting back at level 1 with a new set of emblems, losing everything you earned in the process. Obviously it's just kind of there for the hardcore players or for those who want to start over fresh again. I think it's something I might do if I end up not playing the game for awhile and go back to it after sometime, it'd be fun to re-earn everything probably.

But yeah, online is amazing. Every single mode outside of Free-For-All (very pointless in this kind of game) is really awesome. Domination (capture points), Search and Destroy (bomb), Sabatage (neutral bomb), Hardcore (no HUD, weapons do more damage), Team Deathmatch, Headquaters (King of the Hill), etc ... they're all insanely fun. And there's gotta be at least like 20 maps right now.

Well that's all I have to say for now I guess. This game is insanely fun, 3 thumbs up! The graphics are easily some of the best we've seen yet on the 360 and the framerate is incredible. Seriously, go try and play Halo 3 after a few games of CoD4 ... you'll probably puke. The framerate in Halo 3 is horrendous!

PC, PS3, 360, whatever, GET IT!

Seriously. Holy BALLS is this game amazing.

My dad is all the time talking to me about war shows that play on the history channel, and as soon as HE saw it, he wanted to play it. And he hates Videogames.

People, this game rocks the boat upside and inside out. I only played one hour of it and already im pretty fucking hooked on it. Its 3 Thumbs up, like Xeo said, and its downright replayable.

However, The ONLY problem im having is the broken matchmaking system they got going on on PSN. Im pretty sure I diddnt give it enough time, but so far I have not played it online.

Cyro, WE GOTTA PLAY. I SEE YOU ON ALL THE TIME.

Edit- OMG NIGHTVISION ROCKS. JUST DID IT. HOOOOLLLYYY SHIT

Yeah, it's a great game. Online is amazing. Although I noticed one thing like Halo3. Melee.

I run into a guy, knife their face, but bam I'm dead. He knifed me (somehow) first. It gets annoying. But other than that, it's amazing. I've really enjoyed myself. I have a 1.40 something kill ratio too, cool beans!

I stopped using the knife, much more enjoyable shooting people down for me.

Also, did I mention you can SHOOT THROUGH WALLS, well most throughout the game, pretty unique and fun!

My first experience online was...interesting.

I played with a bunch of Mexicans, one of them had like 3 babies crying in the background, it was seriously annoying and I really just wanted to punch the guy in the face. (Part of my Team too.)

Which is another thing I love about the PSN, there are less kids on there who bitch and complain about either loosing or just...I dunno. People act more mature online, its just this moment it felt like this guy was a Mexican Gangster, hearing his wife in the background with 2 kids crying or something.

ANYWAYS, Im now lvl 6 and I have only played like 3 games, I take it its harder to level up as you climb in ranks. Either way, I had an absolute blast, all of the people on my BL on PSN are jealous of me for having this game

Reminds me alot of my Battlefield 2 days when I played it in LAN parties. Cept to me this one is a little better. It cant hold the 8475847545 ppl like BF2 can, but this is still extremely fun.

Now if only vehicles were in this...Ah well, This is still a great game. Well worth the 63 bucks I paid for it.

Yeah, it took me like a week leveling up from 51 to 55 playing quite a bit. Definitely starts taking longer.

During the time he played veteran was also coincidentally the moment Zeus blessed his hands.

There's no other explanation.

Haha, yeah. Seriously.

I'm not going to lie I used youtube for some of the later levels (for strategies and whatnot). The final level at the silo was probably the hardest for me, I seriously don't think I've ever gotten that mad at a game before ...

But then there was Mile High Club, that 1 minute level on the plane, the bonus mission at the end of the game. That is definitely one of the hardest if not THEE hardest thing I've ever completed in a videogame. It took me two days and probably a total of 4 hours after maybe 1000 death's, all for a stinking 1 minute level (you're timed so you have to be fast).

(That's definitely Zeus playing himself)
Now that doesn't look that bad but I'm sure that's the guys 1,000 attempt at beating that level. It's insane.

I love this game to death but I'm never going through Veteran again.

My proof.

I double post a lot ...

But I did it. Went Prestige and in one day (like 4 hours or so) I've already hit level 22. All I can say is HQ = mega exp. And yeah, this is insanely fun unlocking stuff again and whatnot.

Note: You don't have to unlock the gametypes again, thankfully! I usually play Domination, Sabatage, Hardcore, and lately a lot of Headquarters - though I do really good and usually get in the top three or so, I'm such an aggressive player I die a lot too. This gametype might kill my k/d ratio.

Oh lordy one of the first games I played after I went Prestige was Domination on District and I swear I killed at least 10 people by jumping at their faces with a shotgun (going through all the weapons again for the challenges). Man it was hilarious, I bet they were screaming at that ... (shotgun in a huge level, lmao).

I hate the pump-action shotgun. One time there were three guys facing away from me, so I pop one. He dies! While I am pumping, the others get me.

Or I shoot a guy, he's near death (one more shot!), gets me while I pump. =/

I like HQ, too, but tonight it wasn't working for some reason (for me and my party).

I haven't got the game yet but I played it round a friend's. So fun. Although I hated how in multiplayer that you got extra things like radar scan and a helicopter backup when you're doing good... It means that good players suddenly go overkill on crap players like me.

Mile High Club was absolutely hard, but possible. You just gotta learn where everyone is at and time yourself. Thats pretty much what alot of my friends tell me.

Only bad thing I see right now with the PS3 version is the horriable matchmaking system they got going on. I hear its just a bug, but 60% of the time, I can never get into a game unless I make one of my own, quit it, then go back into a lobby and instantly able to join a game. *Shrugs* Maybe its just me or something.

Edit- Seems the PSN servers are having this issue

Right now im still a noob at Rank 7. *Is shunned*

Yeah, I need to play this game more. But online, im always one of the top 5 when a match ends

Edit2- Holy Crap Xeo, put down the controller. I repeat. PUT DOWN THE CONTROLLER.

If you have a router, you usually have to disable the NAT, as it makes matchmaking a real pain in online games. I can't on mine because it screws up my entire router when I do so, but for other routers, it may just do the trick.

It makes the computer(s) less safe from attacks, but that's what firewalls are for!

Alot of people are having this problem. But its not like 100% of the time I cant connect to a game, I can temporary fix the problem by leaving and entering a room until the next patch comes out.

Level 43 now ...

Can't ... put ... down ... controlleraaaaaaawwww!

But yeah, I've heard it's actually Infinity Ward and Call of Duty 4 itself causing a lot of the connecting problems. They apparently need more servers or something, from some article I read a few days ago. I'm sure this will be fixed sometime soon though. It's been "somewhat" better on XBL the last few days.

You guys don't seem to be doing so bad. The online is a lot of fun. I reached the 9th prestige tonight, and in only two Sabotage games I got back up to level 7. My total kill count must have been around 70 for both matches with maybe 20 deaths. The matchmaking has been a problem for me. Most of the time I can get into a game, but somedays it keeps putting me in an empty room. So I back out and try again, and again, until I finally join a room with other people. I'm in a clan that participates in clan wars on gamebattles.com, but we really haven't had any matches since we started. We were really active in Resistance, but not CoD. Since RFOM, a lot of our members sort of split up when we all got CoD, and a few of us started up a new clan that did a few "gb's" (game battles). However, we never got far and disbanded it. But now I'm with the leader of our clan from the previous game.

I don't know if teh PS3 and 360 are merged online, but I'd like to play with some of you, or maybe against. I was with Nagis one night and we did a FFA and a couple TDMs I believe it was. We had fun.

I just re-rented it today, I'll probably buy it. I am rank 30-something. I forget where I am at.
