My friend had an interesting theory on how Sylar gets people's abilities. Since he just knows how things work, he opens their heads and just examines their brains to figure out how it works. Best theory I've heard. Makes more sense than eating them.

Whenever people ask Zachary Quinto about eating brains (be it from fans or interviewers), he ALWAYS corrects them in some way saying something about "Yeah, if he's actually eating brains" or something of the like.

When I heard about that, I wondered if he was able to open his head, take the part of the person's brain that held the ability and fasten it into his own head, assimilating the power. Major problem with that: he doesn't have spontaneous regeneration and would just end up killing himself, hence why he was seeking Claire (well that and for immortality, I seriously thought Sylar was going to kill Kensei this season).

Another thing that sort of makes me laugh to think about it is that God is always referred to as the clockmaker, as in he created the world/universe/everything and sits back, watching it work. Sylar fixes timepieces.

I read in an interview David Anders said he wasn't done. He's definitely coming back. He's not dead, and that doesn't even stop most Heroes people from coming back.

So I went to the so-called "secret" episode screening last night, which was more like a preview and then a screening of "Powerless" while the actors happened to be there.

THESE ARE ABSOLUTELY SPOILERS, granted in preview form that you'll probably see eventually, but SPOILERS NONETHELESS :
Spoiler:
- The first couple clips were from the most recent episode, showing Nathan getting shot.
- Shortly after that it turned into a montage of various shots of ALL of the specially-abled characters scattered around Primatech DEAD. Hiro had the Kensei sword through him, Matt was sitting in an office with his throat slashed, Claire's dead body (wearing the original Union Wells High School cheerleaders' uniform) was being dragged through a dark and bloody hallway, Micah and Monica lay lifeless and bloody on the floor, etc. (This was quite possibly a future view, if not a dream sequence).
- Sylar, LOTS and LOTS of Sylar.
- As Volume 3 is to be called "Villians," we have some new bad guys coming to the table. Bennet says they're like 12 Sylars being unleashed on the city. One of them is a black man who apparently has speed as his power. There's a shot of him running at a cop and either burying his fist in him or pulling out his heart (either way the next shot of him, he has blood up to his elbow and the cop is definitely dead).
- Other scenes included Sylar being strapped to a table while verbally-sparring with Elle, Ando seemingly about to be hit by a truck, and Angela standing by herself (looks like at Primatech) and some hands come up over her shoulders and then Sylar steps out from behind her.

That's all of what I can remember, so yeah.

The event wasn't anything truly special outside of that Stan Lee was given an award and Doug Jones got to present it.

They had the actors there, but they didn't get to say much. The French guys who ran the film festival were really curious about Hayden though, so she got to talk about her trying to save the dolphins in Japan and so on and so forth.

Zoso and I got to go for free since the Jules Verne Festival people were sending out passes in e-mails. Our friend, Pam, though paid $200 to sit 3 rows ahead of us. She didn't get to refund her ticket so she was stuck with it.

EDIT: THIS IS PART OF IT!!

http://www.heroes-france.com/news_1197829289.htm

This was NOT supposed to be posted anywhere, but the French have defied Tim Kring and Jeph Loeb. That link above has a video that shows part of the preview I saw last night. Watch it before it disappears!

Note: Click the button that says "Afficher" and the video pops up.

I just received word of some spoilers that have hit the net.

Kring mentioned that they did a little bit of shooting on episode 11 and 13, but not whole episodes.

They shot specifically Zach Quinto?s stuff - because he was going to shoot Star Trek.
And some storylines that aren?t connected, that were up ahead in episode 12 and 13.

Season 2 was going to be comprised of three volumes.

* Volume 2 was ?Generations?
* Volume 3 was called ?Exodus?
* Volume 4 ?Villains?

Changing the ending of Volume 2 they dropped ? Exodus? and jumped right to ?Villains?.

Spoiler:
Nathan?s entire speech was rewritten. He was supposed to give a speech regarding the virus getting out where he mentions the word ?Powerless?. Originally, he was supposed to get sick not ?killed?.

* A new villain named Knox ( frightening and intense, with the eyes of a predator ) returns to his native city of New Orleans -the criminal territory he used to run before he was sent to prison. This puts him directly in the path of Micah, his great-aunt Uhura and Monica Daniels.

The latest actor to join the show for its second season is Jessica Collins, who will take on a recurring role. Collins will play Sophie, a mysterious woman with powers who works at the organization that is tracking all heroes. Villain or not?

David Anders ( Adam ) will definitely return and he will meet a new friend (Sylar?)!

Fate about Nathan and Niki is still undecided. Rumours are that Jessica will have a leading role and not Niki.

* Micah?s storyline will end also

* Zachary Quinto (Sylar) will be more badass then ever and when we come back he will kill a star on the show. Now, with the strike dragging on, he?ll likely be done playing young Spock by the time Heroes returns to production.

* ?Badass? Future Hiro will make another appearance and will also be seen in another ?future? episode of Heroes.

* You might see a woman from Japan coming into Ando?s life pretty soon. It?s the second half of the season that gets really interesting for Ando - He wouldn?t confirm that said love interest would be Hiro?s sister. Is she?

* Down the road, fans will learn what are Mr. Nakamura?s powers (and yes, ?are? is a key word here)

* Return of some characters from the Season one like Claude ( the invisible guy)

* Angela is loaded with secrets, some of which will definitely be revealed in the second half of the season. Interpret that as you like.

* Though Israeli freedom fighter Hana died in Heroes graphic novel, her consciousness survives. ?We will see her again on the show at some point,? promises Jeph Loeb.

* Monica will take centre stage as a story arc about her being St Joan unfolds.

* Right from the start of we will know what the big disaster or major plot line is. And it will probably be linked to something small that we already know about from this series.

* We will see more younger generation heroes ( Villains?)

Officer Warren, age 25. He is a handsome African-American police officer from New Orleans, and "works very hard to clean up the streets of the city he loves." He is a recurring character who will appear in episode thirteen, fourteen, sixteen, and "possibly more to come".

10/13 ? SpoilerTV releases a casting call for new characters to appear in episode twelve, which will be directed by Jim Chory:

* Robert Keep, a young (early 30s) man living in New Jersey, with a "pretty big secret".
* A 30- to 35-year-old male with distinctive features who wears a baseball cap. He is an agent working for "a very powerful organization". (!!!)
* A 28- to 35-year-old male uniformed cop who works in New York City.
* Samantha, a pretty 16-year-old cheerleader from Costa Verde.
* Lucy, a pretty 16-year-old cheerleader from Costa Verde.
* Two Japanese office workers employed at "a powerful Tokyo corporation". They will be 28- to 40-year-old male or female employees.
* A 40- to 45-year-old male sheriff who works in Odessa, TX.
* A 35- to 45-year-old mother from Odessa who is "worried sick about her child".
* A 30- to 40-year-old male agent from the Center for Disease Control.

Elle and Claire have some sort of deeper connection that has yet to be revealed (probably that they were sisters but thats has been scrapped, but who knows?)

Elle holds the key to Claire?s future.

Future Hiro will make another appearance sooner than we expect and will also be seen in another ?future? episode of Heroes. As I reported about a week ago in the episode breakdown that Episode 13 is scheduled to be the future episode, but our source mentioned that this might change and the future will air sooner than expected

"She takes on the identity of St. Joan from the 9th Wonders! comic books and becomes a New Orleans media sensation?. Monica is making her mark in the city and bringing back lots of hope to a community very much in need

NBC put out a new preview. It's nothing big, but the show'll be back in September.

Here's another video, this is a compilation someone did of the end of "Powerless" and the clips Tim Kring and Jeph Loeb brought to the Jules Verne Festival I went to last December:

When I saw Jeph Loeb at Wizard World in March, my friend Pam wanted to talk to him about inconsistencies she noticed in that clip show we saw. Jeph said to NOT take any of those seriously. He and Tim just shot those and cut them together to have something to show fans at these little gatherings we have.

EDIT: Forgot to mention it, but next month at Comic-Con, NBC is planning on screening the Heroes season premiere. I'm excited.

Kinda interesting that they are including characters we're supposed to presume were dead at the end of Season 2 in the official preview.

I saw the season premiere.

Massive spoilers under the cuts:

Regarding Nathan, Peter, and Matt:
Spoiler:
FuturePeter teleports himself into the past and shoots Nathan before he "comes out" as a person with special abilities. FuturePeter then disguises himself as PresentDayPeter, stashes the gun which Matt finds (and Peter teleports him to the middle of nowhere), and confronts Angela who apparently has the power to see the future.

Nathan in the meantime, is transported to a hospital, worked on, and is presumed dead.

Peter, while standing over a very pale Nathan with his chest cut open, is shocked when Nathan suddenly sits up and looks around.

A few scenes later Nathan walks out of the hospital and into a chapel where some women are praying. He says something to them in Spanish about seeing God and then starts preaching that God spoke to him.

Later Nathan's back in his hospital bed, Linderman walks in and Nathan believes Linderman healed him.

Regarding Hiro and Ando:
Spoiler:
Hiro is now the president (or at least something of a CEO) in his late father's company. He's VERY bored.

While Ando comes to speak with him, the Nakamura family lawyer pays Hiro a visit and delivers a DVD message from Kaito who reveals to Hiro that there's something in his private safe that he REALLY needs Hiro to protect with his life.

Hiro of course opens the safe. It's apparently half of a formula.

It's immediately stolen by the new speedster character.

Later Hiro tries to figure out what trouble he just caused and decides to take a glimpse at the future.

Upon his arrival in the undisclosed amount of years/months/days, Hiro sees himself and FutureAndo arguing (though he can't hear what they're saying). Suddenly FutureAndo raises his hands at FutureHiro like he's imitating Ryu doing the hadouken, and shoots red bolts of electricity at FutureHiro.

Hiro returns to the present and Ando and can't tell him what he saw.

Regarding Mohinder and Maya:
Spoiler:
Mohinder tells Maya he's given up on trying to find a cure for her. Upset, her eyes go black, and Mohinder talks her down from killing him.

Somehow Mohinder realizes that the power isn't in the blood per se as it is in adrenaline, driven by fight or flight (the adrenaline pumps into the blood to help you either defend yourself or run the fuck out of a situation).

Mohinder takes a sampling of adrenaline from Maya and tells her that this may help people out there who don't have powers finally gain them. Maya demands he destroy it as it's a curse and can't figure out why he'd want to cultivate it.

Depending on the person and how the adrenaline bonds with a person's cells it creates a different power.

Later Mohinder is standing over the ocean with the syringe of Maya's adrenaline and contemplates throwing it in.

Nope.

Mohinder injects himself with the adrenaline and is suddenly attacked by a couple thugs, whom Mohinder is easily kicking the crap out of with super-strength, agility, and speed.

Regarding Claire and Sylar:
Spoiler:
Claire sees Nathan shot on TV and calls up Peter to tell him they can use her blood to save him. Peter says she should stay where she is and it doesn't get much further than that.

Claire opens the door to leave and finds Sylar there. He chases her around the house, she hides, later stabs him with a kitchen knife, and he eventually catches her and cuts her head open.

While he's got her laid out on a table, he's poking and prodding her brain, eventually touching his finger to what we presume was her pituitary gland saying he'd found it.

Worried she looks up at him and asks, "Are you going to eat it?"

Sylar looks puzzled and says, "Eat your brain? Claire, that's disgusting."

After going through her brain, his stab wound heals and he heads for the door.

He then sees her scalp on the floor, picks it up, places it back on her head and the skin and bone melds back together with the rest of her.

She sits up and asks why he isn't going to kill her. Sylar again looks puzzled and tells her she's special and can't die, but then again now he can't either.

Now as someone who loved second season despite what a lot of people have said, I'm quite astonished by the possibilities of this upcoming season. I like a lot of the new turns this is all taking.

It does seem a little on the weird side, as I'm sure the nay-sayers will point out, but it does seem like it runs circles around last season.

Since you didn't read the spoilers I will say that they reveal how Sylar gains others' powers and it's a little on the anti-climactic side.

Spoiler:
Seemed like he had to touch it to know what was up, but yeah, looks like he was right for the most part.

Also, regarding Niki/Jessica:
Spoiler:
Ali Larter appears briefly in the season premiere with an older man who was watching the news of Nathan's "miraculous" return from the dead.

She comes out of his bedroom, wearing nothing more than a white corset and underwear (like she's Emma Frost or something), and straddles the guy as they discuss Nathan being someone they could use.

The man also calls her "Tracy."

I guess the host body survived the fire.

I'd read rumors months ago saying that Niki was dead, BUT Jessica survived. I guess this is it.
