No, it's not full of naked women. I was disappointed too.

Seriously though, I figured it'd be nice to have a happy counterpart to the Fuck You thread. Basically, it's the opposite - thank someone for something they did, post about good deeds seen or done for you, that sort of thing.

If someone thinks this really needs to be moved it can, but I'd like for this to be something people can cheer up with after posting a new rant in the Fuck You thread.

... Yes, I really posted this. Surprise.

Anyway, it's relatively minor, but thank you, whichever bank teller was nice enough to tell me I could use the money I deposited tomorrow. I thought I'd have to wait until Monday, and I'm planning on ordering a few things.

Gotta have something in the first post, eh?

EDIT: Oh, unlike the Fuck You thread, you can mention board members here. Who'd bitch about having good things said?

No happy, everything sad or frustrating until after economy returns to high or this whole prop 8/election stuff blows over.

Then, we can resume happy. Till then, to the FUCK YOU thread!

Life has been fairly good lately, I imagine being 21 kind of helps that too...

Other than the fact that I'm desperately looking for a job at the moment. Hope I can get one soon, time just keeps flying.

That wasn't my intention, but all of life moments, even those of happy, are accompanied by a Fuck You.

I did stand in the rain for five-and-a-half hours yesterday doing a No on 8 rally with a bunch of other people at a street intersection. A few "die faggot", "cocksucker" and "fuck you"s were thrown around from cars, but mostly, it was the kick of getting the honks and approvals that helped to perk us up from an otherwise dreary election time.

And, we're doing it again today, after I deliver some No on 8 signs and maybe pull down some Yes on 8 ones...

I'm happy because as soon as my mother mails me a copy of my GED (I'm having her hold the original so I don't lose it), I'll be a substitute teacher.

On an unpleasant note, just about everyone at Dollar General is down to 15 hours each week.

However, two people are likely to quit, and we'll be allowed our extra Christmas hours soon - I've been told that I will be getting the majority of these extra hours.

Believe it or not I started this thread a while back. Alas, it's grown inactive.

Well, I've actually been in this rather depressive funk for the past few weeks. It's not worth talking about really and thinking on it sets me off, so we'll put that aside.

Anyway, I've been somewhat on the positive side for the past week so here's a short list of things that have made me happy in some way:

- I've been having some great conversations with my history professor after class.

- Brandon and I went to a house party for this band (Poxy Boggards). Drank a lot of free beer, got pretty buzzed and will probably appear in their music video they'd been shooting at the house during the party (It'll probably go in my profile for a while in place of the non-working Alan Moore/Simpsons video).

- We had some Filipino food a couple days ago, then went out to see Zack and Miri Make a Porno with Patrick and one of his Shipwreck friends.

- I fried up some great gyoza last night after a trip to the Japanese market.

- My Internet's been fixed, and I've got running FiOs again.

- Got lost looking for Hitler's stein glasses in a trailer park in Lomita (we thought it was HILARIOUS) yesterday.

- I just got another perfect score on my history test today.

- Planning a road trip to Arizona for Thanksgiving week since my university gives the whole week off (and Brandon just quit his job to go back to school).

- My parents are out of town right now (not that I'm throwing any parties, but sometimes it's just good to have the house to yourself).

Hmn...

Well, I just finished the last of my book analysis papers for World History. Still have a second midterm and a 10 page research paper to do though.

Uh, found a better version of top ramen by sapporo ichiban at Albertson's of all places. Much better flavor.

Downloaded a Nightwish single where the male singer actually sings... it is SO awesome.

My birthday is coming up next weekend... even though I have to work that night.

So I'm still occasionally drifting in and out of that funk I mentioned previously, though I try to not let it get me down.

Woke up this morning and went downstairs to find my cat had thrown up on the floor. Of course I only realized this after I kicked what I thought was a bunched up stocking on the floor, to find it break apart with slightly gooey kitty-kibble pieces going everywhere.

And before the week is out I've got to finish two novels and a couple papers for school. Then again I've got the week off.

Anyway, the things that have made me happy lately:

- Friend's birthday at ridiculously expensive Moroccan restaurant. Brandon, Marty, and Becky got up and danced with the bellydancer and we had 5 courses of great food, followed by going back to Marty and Becky's for Marty's R2D2 birthday cake.

- Brandon and I did brass rubbings, something I hadn't done since 7th grade. Then because it was this really foggy London/San Francisco day we went down to the Seal Beach pier to get Coldstone ice cream (Mmmm dark chocolate peppermint ice cream with Oreo mix-in). Walked on the pier eating our ice cream, then spent the rest of the time intimidating seagulls.

- Oversized chocolate-chip pumpkin spice cookies (that more closely resemble really soft scones). <3

- Lee's in town!! Went to the Time Travel Mart and walked along the Santa Monica Pier yesterday.

- Road trip! I'm really looking forward to getting some hiking done. Yay for Thanksgiving with Brandon's family again.

- I'm going to babysit for Kittybob today. Have a little in my pocket before leaving for Arizona on Wednesday.

- We got a new refrigerator (as while my parents were out of town, the old one crapped out).

I gave $1.25 to the Salvation Army today. Yeah, it isn't much... but I don't have all that much. With so many people suffering right now, I felt good about myself at being able to give even that much.

My birthday is this Sunday.
