I myself prefer the Playstation 3, with its 10 year shelf life, built in blueray player, and immense harddrive BUILT IN, the choice is simple in my eyes. Now I agree that certain games cannot be found on PS3 but that can sometimes be a good thing. Banjo Kazooie? Please tell which you prefer, and why.

You forgot about the almighty PC!

I like the PC the best because, well, you can do much more with it. If you get good hardware, everything looks and runs better than a console too!

You were right, we did know this was coming.

In any case, I haven't played a PS3, so I only have my opinions on the 360.

But I would like to point out that the built in harddrive on the PS3 isn't as good as the removable harddrive on the 360 for the fact that it is removable. If it gets full on the PS3, you have to delete things. Not on the 360--just get a new one. Way cheaper than buying tons of memory cards.

Phoenix, it was four years ago, you can't talk about thread remakes when the thread is twice your cyber age, xD.

I own a 360 and a Wii, and I've played a PS3, so I say that the answer isn't quite as clear cut as it might seem.

On the one hand, the 360 has a lot of good games that you can't get anywhere else, Halo, Gears of War, it gets Mass Effect long before the PS3, etc. Also, a lot of its games that aren't exclusives only come out on it and the PC, skipping the PS3 altogether. On top of that, the 360 has the best online support of the current generation. I also like the Xbox controller a lot more than the PS3.

On the other hand, the PS3 has a couple nice exclusives as well. Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 3, God of War. Put that in with the eventual ability to look better thn the 360, and you've got a lot of potential.

But for the built in Blu-Ray...really, who doesn't already have a blu-ray player now anyway?

So yeah, I own a 360, and about 40 games on it...but I'd also like to buy a PS3, and probably will sometme in the future when I get a spare $300 bucks.

But as for which is better? I'd say they're both good, so the right answer is just to buy both.

HA! Way to call me out xD

My point was that this conversation is a bit old
Both systems are years old, and I just didn't see a point in talking about it.

And by the way--I'm one of those people that doesn't have a blu-ray player. I've never really liked high def anything; it makes it look blurrier than before. To make up for the blurriness, all they do is skip several frames. That's what it seems like to me, anyway. I just can't watch it.

And while Xbox has many exclusives, I desperately want a few games on the PS3 to share their wonderful presence with me.

Yeah but when are you ever going to fill up that HDD? For the PS3 you can use USB/external HDD's for anything I believe, but can only use USB for the 360. It's also easier to buy third party HDD's that can be used with the PS3, when it's not that easy with the 360's... not to mention how outrageously expensive their HDD's are. Isn't it like $100 for a 120GB or something? When that'd get you close to a TB for regular externals.

I think the 360 is simply put probably one of the worst systems that ever hit the market, hardware wise, ever. If you and you know people that have had one for years somehow avoided the red ring issue then definitely call yourself lucky. There's just been so many issues with them over the years it's pretty embarrassing, but hopefully the new slim line is fine.

I just feel like I really got my money's worth with my slim PS3. The menu is lame, but something about it just feels ... better.

That said I always prefer the 360 when it comes to the games and if you guys have seen my gamerscore you can tell I play a lot. Most of my friends have XBL as well over a PS3, and I definitely prefer the 360's controller for FPS's. I do want to get a slim 360 eventually though, guess it just took them 5-6 years to come out with a good system.

And that other thread is depressing, seeing us praise the Wii by a landslide... yeah right, haha wow.

Far as I'm concerned, the two are largely interchangeable. Though each has a few exclusives, most games I've seen are on both. This is why I haven't bothered getting a PS3 yet; I got a 360 first due to Ace Combat.

This is also why I have both a 360 and a Wii. Yes, the Wii has a lot of crap, but almost all of its games - including the good ones - are only on the Wii. Having both, therefore, isn't redundant.

And while I've only had it for about half a year so far, I haven't had any issues with the 360... or with any of my systems other than my decade-old SNES.

I haven't had the red rings of death yet, and it's going on over a year and eight months. I try to take pretty good care of my systems. There isn't a scratch on that thing, and it has plenty of room to air out. I also have the arcade version, so the harddrive doesn't overheat the thing

I really like the 360, though. The controller set up is great, and I'm glad they replaced the black and white buttons from the original Xbox. They were just too hard to press in mid combat

I don't have XBL and I never have, but it works fine for me. I mainly use it when my friends come over, or if I want to play an RTS or Fable II.

I've been thinking about selling it, though. I'll probably wait until I get the red rings so it's not someone else's problem, but I'm getting to the point where all I do is watch movies on it. Granted, there are a few games coming out that I want to make love to buy, but it all depends.

I still haven't played a PS3, though. I can't imagine the controller feeling any different than the PS2, but I here the graphics are amazing.

I still have mine, it's still by far my favorite system ever created. Still works like new too.

all of them

E- Alright, alright. I'll contribute.

I don't have a 'Favorite' system really. My mindset is get whatever console suits you more. If all of your friends has an Xbox360 and it has the same games you may enjoy? Buy one! Don't have a lot of friends? Buy a PS3! Like Nintendo? Buy the Wii!

But I like to go a little deeper:

Most of the games that are on Xbox360 can also be played on the PC (As well as PS3). So I had that mindset going into this generation of console purchasing. Build a gaming PC to handle some great FPS titles (As much as I stomp ass on the PS3 controller. It just feels better on a mouse / KB), Blizzard games, and maybe some titles that are on the Xbox360 like Mass Effect.

For the PC. I can't wait to waste my life on Diablo 3. And I know damn well that game is not gonna hit consoles. Even if it did; I just don't think it will work right. Like playing an RTS game on a console (Red Alert 3 had horrible controls).

It just depends on your playstyle really. All of my friends who own an Xbox really want to have a PS3. Luckily, when they come over, I slap a controller on them and let them have a round.

Actually PC gamers are mostly hikki otakus with no friends and console gamers are perhaps marginally better.

So PS3.

Things have changed since that old thread Phoenix, such as the Wii not delivering to it's hardcore fanbase and leaving everyone scrambling for carnival games or some shit.

I vote PS3 because it's one of the two choices available, but PC is my lover, never forget that.

I've been happy enough with it, myself. SSBB, Geometry Wars Galaxies, NSMB Wii, Phantom Brave, and Monster Hunter 3. A few other games I don't play as much, too. But I'm one of those people that gets a fair amount of use out of the Virtual Console and the Gamecube backwards-compatibility.

There's quality, but it's like panning for gold in a miner's outhouse. Sure, you may eventually find it, but you're going through a lot of shit first.

They were trying to give pretty valid reasons on why they raised the price, but they just sounded like a company looking to make a few extra bucks off their pretty loyal subscribers. I'll still pay for it because it's not that much, but come on.

Honestly, just hiking it up fifty cents is enough for Microsoft to make millions more, so yeah, I'm not too happy with a higher price, but I suppose I'll still get sucked into spending the extra bucks.
