Thank you to one of my friends who felt that he could confide in me one of his deepest secrets. Knowing that I am that trusted kinda brings a smile to my face.

Also, thank you to GM Ray Shero for bringing three awesome new members to the Pittsburgh Penguins so that we can have the offensive power that we need while so many of our players are out injured.

Thank you, Cal State Fullerton, for really being a great school. I mean, we had our differences, but damn, I feel like I spent the best three years of my life (so far) with you.

Thank you, American studies department, for being the biggest collection I've encountered of professors who are passionate about what they are teaching and carry a great respect for their students. It's because of you great folks that I'm graduating.

I'm not sure what's up with the death's surrounding my life these past few years, but one of my friends I worked with back at Jiffy Lube was missing for nearly two weeks or something after a weird car accident and being dropped off at his home, his dead body was finally found almost a few blocks from my house. I haven't really spoken with him in the last few years or seen him, but we were good friends then, partied, and he was only 27, supposedly just had a baby as well.

RIP Josh, thank you for being an awesome friend and the memories. My heart goes out to your family and friends.

I'm so sorry to hear about Josh, Xeo. So sad to also hear there may be a child growing up with a father, especially one that was a great friend to you.

Oh wow, I am so sorry, Xeo! That just sucks.

Thank you, Paul from Verizon, for being so cool and helpful with the whole crazy Amazon cell phone thing.

Thank you, amateur novella authors who post your work online. Your cheesy romances and surprisingly epic sagas and dramas are my brain's comfort food.

Thank you, free Shakespeare-in-the-park companies in my area. I can't believe there are so many of you, and you're all putting on performances, spreading some culture and providing entertainment, without expecting more than hoping some people would donate a few bucks. You guys are amazing (well, in your willingness to perform for free, not necessarily in terms of talent).

Yeah, I completely know what you're talking about here since I've been applying, interviewing, and even in some cases working on things lately and not hear back from anyone for either a really long time or not at all. Fucking aggravating.

Thank you, Long Beach theater for playing movies for cheap on the very first showing on Fridays. Cowboys and Aliens here I come.

I second Erza's statement. Hearing something is SO much better than hearing nothing.

Thank you, Slippery Rock University, for sending me my acceptance letter. It's nice to finally have that huge step out of the way so I can worry about paying for tuition.

I can totally relate to this!

Thank you to a nurse at work for helping me start a budget so I know how much it's going to cost me to study in New Zealand!

Renie, you and I have absolutely nothing in common. You were born in CA and I was born in GA. But for some reason we get along great.

We fought a lot at work. Tons of times in the past when I first started.

We worked out a lot when we worked together.

Thank you for giving me that promotion. And saying that I surpassed you. To me, you are the #1 in the store that I work at. But for you saying that I am the new #1 is saying a lot.

Thank you. I know that I said this to you in person but hey. Never hurts: Internet.

Thank you, decent teachers. ALL of you had gotten back to be by today, still a few days before the semester, to give me the supply/book list early.

Might not seem like a big deal, but I can get my books tomorrow after work. Which means I can avoid the mosh pit of students and lines. Which means I can work more next week and make more money.

THAT, and I like when teachers are easy to get a hold of. Makes life MUCH easier, and I respect them lots for it.

And thanks to whatever parent taught their child to WAIT their turn for something and pulled her sister back while I was playing with this exhibit at the California Science Center, telling her to wait HER turn. Holy crap! You never see that there. Most of the kids will force their way in front of you, even peel your hands off of things, or they mess with what you're doing.

Thank you, Los Angeles, for being downright awesome with your free museums, your mostly sunny weather all year long, your never-ending supply of things to discover, your real people (which honestly far outweigh the plastics), your vastly diverse array of culture, food, entertainment, art, and love.

Thank you, Long Beach, for being there when I don't have the gas money to drive 20 some odd miles to the Observatory.

Thank you, Griffith J. Griffith, for donating the land to make Griffith Park, and for looking in that telescope at Mount Wilson, being moved by the heavens, and insisting Southern California continue to be the Alexandria of space exploration and discovery and put forth the money and will to build Griffith Observatory.

Thank you, Griffith Observatory, for naming your expensive eatery The Cafe at the End of the Universe.

Thank you, cafe in the woods of Griffith Park, for always having lavender vanilla cookies. They always make me feel at home when I've been away from L.A. and return.

Thank you, Johnny Reb's, for having the best mac 'n' cheese in the world.

Thank you, Fresh & Easy, for having good food for cheap and making Pavilion's across the street look especially bad.

Thank you, Los Angeles area philanthropists, for donating so much money into our area so we can have theaters, parks, museums (and even free days at museums), schools, and everything else that might not have a name stamped on it.

Thank you, Phyllis Patterson, for creating the mondern Renaissance faire back in the '60s, right here in Southern California.

Thank you, Amanda Palmer, for marrying Neil Gaiman and being so damn cute together.

Thank you work for being not so busy so I could get some much needed homework done. Seriously. Was like hyperventilating over this all weekend.

Then of course there's this picture:

Hahahaha. They're freaking awesome.

Thank you fate, if you do exist, for making me a few minutes late for class. I ran into an old friend on the subway, and it's like we're still as close as we were when we were 13. VERY refreshing to see him again, and whether this lasts or not, thank you for allowing me to have the best few days practically inseparable. <3
