Since we're all older now and we've all been exposed to enough new things over the years, and since most of us can't pick a single film that we absolutely love above all others, what are your top 10 favorite films?

BRB with my list.

So what's the bee's knees for the rest of you? Feel free to elaborate on any and all of them.

In no particular order

1) The Lord of the Rings trilogy
2) Star Wars Trilogy (the good ones)
3) Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
4) The Ref
5) Dracula (1931)
6) Public Enemies
7) The Nightmare Before Christmas (No matter how trendy it gets)
8) Schindler's List
9) Star Trek films (because you can't like just one... though the even ones ARE better)
10) Monty Python and the Holy Grail (Life of Brian was also good, but Holy Grail was better imho)
天国JOE

Outside of Star Wars this is in no order. Also I see a lot of people listing trilogies, lol. Can you guys just not nail down a specific favorite out of them? Well, I can't really either with some of these choices, it can be kind of a mood thing.

1. Star Wars OT
- Jurassic Park
- Blade Runner
- Terminator 1-2
- Alien
- Aliens
- The Shining
- Total Recall (I'm dead serious, I love this movie)
- Space Balls
- Black Rain

Honorable Comedy mentions: Ace Ventura When Nature Calls, Dumb & Dumber, Happy Gilmore

Totally random Bond favorites: Goldfinger, Goldeneye

Spoiler:
I like sci-fi a lot.

Empire Strikes Back. I'm pretty sure that's the hands-down victor for everybody.

I see the Lord of the Rings trilogy as a whole, broken into three parts.

As for Star Wars, like Gurren said, Empire wins. For Star Trek... that one I honestly have trouble choosing but I think I am going to have to go with First Contact.

1. The Departed
2. Fargo
3. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
4. The Dark Knight
5. King of Kong
6. There Will Be Blood
7. Toy Story
8. The Godfather
9. Four Brothers
10. The Brave Little Toaster

Just a off the top of my head list and I'm probably forgetting about a lot of movies.

Now that I've got some time to finally sit and stare at the board, here's my list (no particular order):

1. Kung Fu Hustle - In the last few years whenever I've had to answer what is my absolute favorite film, I just answer with this. It utilizes so many aspects of film that I love. It's a bitch slap of awesome.

2. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead

3. Battle Royale

4. Hedwig and the Angry Inch - Once you evolve past Rocky Horror, you come to this film, which I actually discovered in high school, just before I started going to Rocky. Hedwig is my favorite rock musical; I've seen it on stage and know all the words to all the songs.

5. Harold and Maude - If I'm ever allowed wiggle room to include 2 or 3 favorite films when people ask, this one comes right after KFH.

6. Cannibal! The Musical - Between Hedwig and Cannibal, this might be my favorite musical above all.

7. The Indiana Jones TRILOGY - If I had to pick one, it'd probably be "Temple of Doom" because it's the first movie I can remember seeing in my life. It has a warm and squishy place in my cold, black heart. The Indy movies were a massive part of my early life. My parents went to see "Temple of Doom" when my mom was pregnant with me, and the moment "Last Crusade" came out, they brought me along to see it. In fact, last night Brandon and I were at this pizza place in Arizona that has this massive pipe organ that this guy plays while you eat and he played Indy's theme song from "Raiders of the Lost Ark." No joke, I damn near cried.

8. The Big Lebowski

9. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

10. Iceman - Even though I've only seen this one a couple times, it's earned a place on this list. It's f-ing beautiful, especially if you're an anthropology geek (if Krippendorf's Tribe could be packaged with it in a boxset or something I'd be all over that).

Honorable mentions (honestly, picking 10 was also pretty hard for me and these were battling for placement): Back to the Future Part 3, The Graduate, Tombstone, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, Krippendorf's Tribe, Kill Bill, The Lion King, Sin City, The Fantastic Mr. Fox, Amelie, X2: X-Men United, Foxy Brown, and Grindhouse.

I know, right?

Obviously the first in their trilogies are cinematic masterpieces, but there's always been something sentimental about "Temple of Doom" for me.

Now, "Back to the Future Part 3"? Yeah, I love that one mostest. It's a western, it's steampunk, and the story is actually about the scientist who built the time machine and not this pip-squeak kid and his annoying family problems.

I'm also guilty of that. I watched that one like crazy when I was a kid, paying almost no attention to Raiders of the Lost Ark or The Last Crusade!

Oddly enough, Temple of Doom was my least favorite of the three films. I enjoyed the other two way more, though I don't know which of the two I would label my "favorite"... I suppose if I had to I would say Last Crusade because I love the interaction between Harrison Ford and Sean Connery.

That seems to be the consensus among the general Indy fan population. Well, before "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" reared its not-so-pretty head.

I think I love it for all the things people dislike. It's different from the others - no Nazis, no Marcus, no Sala, no Indy starting out as a teacher and he's just sort of thrown into a situation to save a poverty-stricken village.

Funny thing. When you put all the movies in their chronological order "Temple of Doom" comes before "Raiders."

Which I think is interesting. But yeah, Temple of Doom was actually the first one that I saw, and it was okay but I think it was largely the slow pace at the beginning that just drives me nuts.

Ugh... Kingdom of the Crystal Skull... the only thing I liked about that movie was the idea that Indy could survive a nuclear blast in a old refrigerator. Tougher than a damn cockroach!

But it has that dumb kid and the lamest love interest!

Yeah, honestly I dig Temple of Doom, but I don't remember it ever being my favorite. Honestly I should marathon the whole trilogy sometime soon though as it's been awhile. I might agree with Elara about the third one being my favorite too, Sean Connery and Harrison Ford was just too awesome. The first one is almost like a musical ride though, kind of like Empire Strikes Back to me, the pacing is just so awesome.

I remember as a kid always seeing that pulling-out-heart scene in Temple of Doom, scared the crap out of me.

Ugh the 4th one though... still haven't seen it... still don't really plan on it! Have I mentioned how much I don't care about Shia Labeouf anymore!!?

As for Back to the Future, I guess I've only seen 3 once or twice, so I should rewatch all those sometime too. Part 2 was actually always my favorite though, I just loved the sci-fi stuff and everything.

Oddly enough that never scared me. Maybe I was just way too young to know (watching a VHS of "Temple of Doom" was seriously my earliest memory).

But when Donovan drinks from the false grail and suddenly gets really old and turns to dust - that shit creeped me the fuck out. Melting nazis came after that.

Ah yes, I remember catching that scene as a kid too. Nasty, nightmares, etc... haha.

But I watched Jurassic Park when I was 5 and loved it.

Neither scene really scared me... but I was watching "Misery" when I was four, so I think I might have desensitized myself.
