Fuck you, Titan Degree Audit. I just got a message from Admissions and Records concerned that I might not graduate because I'm missing a major class. Why they fuck did Graphic Novel fall off the list?! Anyway, I actually already contacted an academic adviser about this a couple weeks ago, who said I should be fine since I'm taking another non-comm class.

Fuck this year of jinxes. Seems like whenever I get excited about something, another bad thing happens.

I thought that if they make a change to the list it only effects the newcomers like most of the other schools... makes no sense to have a change in requirements that happens partway through your senior year cost you your graduation because when you took the class it was on the accepted list.

Oh yes, and fuck you LBCC for not getting my my transcripts yet. Turtles move faster.

Here's the deal about Graphic Novel -- it was an experimental class. Like it had never been taught before and the English department was trying it out.

The number on the class changed (even though it hasn't been taught since), from like English 345 to English 456 or something and thus the TDA people let it slip through their fingers somewhere.

Whatever... so long as Asian American Film gets me through.

Fuck you, Los Angeles television media. The TOP news is seriously Britney Spears' new tour, followed by some dog needing a home, and then L.A. trying to get a third NBA team? Really?

OK, a new basketball team would mean money for us, but STILL... fucking Britney's tour trumps news of Libya, Japan, Iraq, Afghanistan, local news, and EVERYTHING else?

Priorities, L.A. media. You have none.

UPDATE: The ONLY story involving any of the countries above left out of the top stories that came up AT ALL during the telecast was on the Libyan rebels fleeing. It came 40 minutes into the news.

Before that was a piece on a frat guy having sex on a roof at USC and someone from the ground taking pictures. All they showed through that story was a stock photo of the building as the anchor said, "We choose not to show the photos," in an uppity manner.

Right, Fox 11. Redeem your quality by withholding photos already censored and taken from far away.

For the curious, here are the photos: http://imgur.com/a/2RfCA#OXfTu

... I see some things have not changed? Third NBA team... dear gods, no!

Fuck you, Dick's Sporting Goods! If you had signed the fucking contract with Iron Mountain when you were supposed to then I would be working right now. Instead, not only are Ben and I still not working, his mom got laid off as well.

Fuck you weather, it is spring now, stop dipping below freezing!

Fuck you cat, the laundry hamper is not a scratching post. Seriously, it isn't.

And a general fuck you, stupid people, for... well... being stupid. Ugh, that one fell flat.

Fuck coming home from a trip that involved VERY LITTLE sleep and discovering that your family was withholding that your mother had to have part of her abdomen cut away due to a cellular infection.

Just got back from taking my mom to the clinic to get checked up. They haven't sewed up what they cut away at yet for some reason or another.

Before taking her I had just gotten back from class (we had actor Sung Kang as a guest speaker) which I had to go to IMMEDIATELY after getting home from a long car-ride down from San Francisco.

Thankfully, Mom's all right, but yeah. Fuck..

There was a bullet-riddled body found in a car, around the corner from my house and across the street from a pre-school.

Fuck whoever's responsible for that.

Seriously? That is just wrong.

Fuck you, restaurant in Harrisville whose name I forget at the moment... why are your only non-starch sides for the chicken dinner coleslaw, cottage cheese, and applesauce? Can I not have a salad?

Brandon just got back from picking up drinks at the 7-Eleven that's in the strip mall, of which the body in the car was found behind, and saw a memorial and pictures of one of the clerks hanging up in the front.

There are no news stories naming the dead person or even a photo of him, so we're not sure if it's a coincidence or if he was the man in the car.

It's a fairly new 7-Eleven (less than a year old), but some shady people were starting to hang out in front regularly, and Brandon and I have been there when people have shoplifted.

It's so weird and disconcerting that this happened a mile from my house at a place I frequent.

Jeez, fuck this.

Fuck you even more, L.A. broadcast media.

Kobe Bryant makes top story.

And then on top of that when they finally got to Obama's speech on healthcare they only show views on the speech voiced by Republicans and then spend another minute laughing about how Biden looked like he was dozing off during the speech.

FUCK YOU SO MUCH.

With great pain in my heart to type, fuck you, university library.

I truly love my university library. Really. The GREATEST resource for paper-writing. They have helped me to no end.

Most recently a librarian found a document I was looking for from 1949 that was only available in microfilm and she managed to find it off an obscure database, download the PDF and e-mail it to me. They got me the court records of the 1950s hearings against comic books, which I'm using for this big senior paper.

And yet, yesterday I get this threatening message to return a book I need for said paper a month early because someone requested it. What?

It's supposed to be due back May 25 and they're saying if I don't return it by Wednesday they're going to drop hefty fines onto my account, which would prevent me from graduating if I don't pay them immediately.

I checked the system. There are two copies of the book and both have been recalled.

Who is this person that's made it so the library is threatening people?

Have you pulled the quotations that you want from the book yet? If so, as annoying as it is, turn it in with a complaint. If not, I would call or walk in and ask just why it is that both copies have to be recalled when one person requested the book, and if the other copy gets returned do you REALLY need to turn it?

Don't they use Link+, ILLiad, or other library sharing systems where people can get books from other universities on loan? I mean it is really douchy to screw over the person that was smart enough to check the book out early.

Time to fucking vent.

Shit is about to hit the fan from my goddamn uppercuts.

My car is overheating again. This has been an ongoing issue for the last several years even after getting a new radiator put in, all new hoses, constantly checking the fluids more than anyone ever should, a new fan (two set fan in my engine, one broke awhile ago). I swear I've probably spent like 3-4k over the last few years fixing up this fucking 1996 Acura and I'm about ready to drive it off a cliff. It's driving funny again already, it still needs two new tires after I replaced the front two late last year, and now these other issues pop up. I've been out of work for months and right after getting my first check from my new job, the very next day half of it is already gone on filling up on gas and having to work out a deal with a dept collector from some dept that I apparently racked up from a Chiropractor back in 2008... I'm gonna have to call them themselves to give them hell about never giving me any kind of damn notifications about that or anything in these last three years. My car was falling apart last October before my birthday. I had a surgery done on a surprise hernia late October after my birthday. Three people I knew via extended family and friends died this week. I've had major anxiety/stress building up for a year new and finally got on some medications that are helping, but holy shit buckets.

I need a fucking break.

Wow. *hug*

Now for my own rant, directed at a supposed friend:

Fuck you, pretentious hypocritical mutherfucking Christian bastard! How dare you sit there and post shit on your fucking facebook account for your little evangelical Republican buddies to giggle at and when someone makes an intelligent post that has truths in it that you don't agree with you feel you have the moral right to delete their reply! I put up with your bullshit preaching on my page and never delete it no matter how much I disagree. I debate instead. Yet when I or Ben post a well argued, valid, and truthful statement that you disagree with you delete our posts? Fuck that and fuck you. You get one chance to explain yourself and apologize, and if you don't or if you fucking delete that post as well then I will personally fly back to California just to slap you across you fucking face! You fucking self-righteous pig!

I know exactly what you mean about them not telling you about medical shit until it's already gone to collections. The one time I got sent to the emergency room via ambulance they took all of my information down wrong despite my repeating it to them multiple times. On further reflection, I shouldn't have bothered telling them. Anyway, a couple months later the debt collectors start sending nasty letters and all of the other stuff was going to the wrong address. Whatever... it sucks. I know what you're going through on that.

I'm really sorry to hear about your extended family members. Was there an accident? Either way, that's extremely unfortunate and again I'm sorry.

As for the car issues, believe me, I feel you. My boyfriend and I haven't EVER had a great, working car. It's like every time we get a new one (used, every time) it completely drives into the ground within a couple years needing new alternators here, new master cylinders there, new tires, new fanbelts, new batteries, it just keeps going and going. And forget about AC, heat, being able to roll down windows or open the glove compartment (I have to open the one we have now with a tire iron), and so on.

And Elara, do I know this person? I know some of the old, and newer (I suppose), LBCC crowd were starting to lean right.

Anyway, to keep on topic, fuck the volunteer situation at this comic convention this weekend. It's supposed to be that you work 4 hours and then you can enjoy the rest of the day, but the guy we've got has us work 8, 9, 10-hour days and he's never around to help us, find us relief, or allow us to even go off to watch a panel or walk the exhibit hall floor for a while. I pretty much worked registration from opening to closing two days straight and got to watch half of a panel I wanted to see and was even guilt-tripped for that.

It's fucking slave labor, and I'm seeing other volunteers getting preferential treatment and doing all the cool jobs while the rest of us are stuck working.

Yeah, I'm taking that job covering an event today to avoid going to the con. It's THAT bad. Me, the convention addict, willing to forgo a con? You know something's amiss.

Fuck customers.

Yesterday was horrible. I couldn't move away from the register for more than two minutes for half my shift. This is a problem as I also needed to do some stocking, almost none of which got done at all because by the time it cleared up enough, I had to straighten up the store.

Oh, but at least you had plenty of business, right?

If it was just a lot of customers it wouldn't be so bad.

But they were the idiots, the ones with screaming little bastards, the impatient fuckwads. All the idiots of a normal shift, compressed into the first half (first half-hour for the screaming-little-bastard count).

Oh, and the last half wasn't all that great either. But compared to the first part, it was a nice reprieve.

You all ever get headaches bad enough that your eyes hurt? I had one of those most of my shift yesterday, from the stress of dealing with all these people. I don't handle crowds well.

oh and I work today

It's funny you mention stuff like that Chev, last night I laid in bed for HOURS and could not stop thinking about work (had a bad day myself. Think I'm done with weekends at Lowe's), like I would close my eyes and literally stuff I had to do at work was flashing before me, customers dumb questions echoed in my mind, it was really fucking weird. I was really out of it, super tired, and could not fall asleep so I don't know what was up.

And forget about AC, heat, being able to roll down windows or open the glove compartment (I have to open the one we have now with a tire iron), and so on.

The thing that scares me about that is I still haven't gotten a bill from my surgery. I'm really crossing my fingers that they dropped it, I don't think I could handle 3-4,000 dollars more dept weighing down on my shoulders right now.

My great grandmother finally passed and it didn't sound fun, she was put in a nursing home and wanted to go home for her final hours but I don't think she made it. Other than that, the other two deaths I know of were unfortunately suicides. One of my childhood friends, whom my family and I have loosely stayed in contact with over the years, his younger brother -15- apparently committed suicide. I don't have anymore details that that... as for the other one, you guys probably remember me talking about that big group therapy session I did last year, one of the older guys from my group apparently committed suicide. I also don't know many details here, but it was utterly surreal... he was without a doubt as anyone from our group would say one of the most cheerful, brightest smiling guys that was in our group. Always talking to us and getting updates on how we felt throughout the process, and he never seemed like someone that put on a mask throughout the whole thing. He was real, and so ... it's still very hard to wrap my head around this. He was also married and had a few kids, so it's just devastating.

On slightly brighter news... I think my car was just low on radiator fluids, but I'm pretty sure I have a slow leak because I have to fill it up like every 2 months or something it feels like, very annoying. As usual, the next day I took my car out and around to see if the issues popped up again and nothing ever did, so damn annoying. But I went out and bought some antifreeze and put a ton in, so I guess it was really low. I also noticed a lot of corrosion on my battery, which probably needs to be replaced itself. But I cleaned that off for now.

My next paycheck can't come soon enough. I don't know how people can live kind of like I feel right now, paycheck to paycheck... this is just way too much and as mentioned above the anxiety/stress issue has gotten pretty bad, I can barely handle any stress right now. I think my next paycheck will be better than this last one I got though, and I plan to maybe replace some stuff on my car if possible.

Bumpy times ahead, but everyday is a new day. Staying as optimistic as I can, but yeah like I mentioned there... I just need a fucking break. Bad luck never comes alone for me, it's always a chain reaction of bullshit and for once I'd just like a gust of good luck or something. I think I'm going to hope to find a second job sometime soon and continue keeping myself even busier than now and make more money to get by with things I need to get done.
