So this game comes out in 6 days and I'm surprised there isn't a thread made by Xeo or someone. So I guess I'll take the liberty in making the thread:

Deus Ex is a series of videogames involving mystery storytelling, RPG/FPS action, and multiple choice scenarios. Meaning you can either run into a building guns blazing or you can talk your way through it, or hack open a door by sneaking in, or you could just plain old sneak your way in alternate scenarios. Deus Ex makes this all possible for you.

The story is Human Augmentation is the newest future tech that everyone wants to get their hands on. On one side, it makes humans more capiable in doing things in their everyday lives. It cures amputations, it makes people faster, stronger, and all around better.

But on the bad side. People who use this are in a threat in being controlled by the Government. Which is where you come in:

You are a detective. Adam Jensen, and you are going to find a way to stop this mess.

Astrophel
Fear will kill your mind and steal your love as sure as anything;
Fear will rob you blind and make you numb to others suffering

Yeah it's no joke Deus Ex is one of my top favorite games of all time, I don't even kid about that. I am currently probably in my 20th replay (literally) that I started up recently after installing a handful of mods making it look and run awesome.

Deus Ex on modern systems.
Unreal Engine DX10 Renderer.

Basically what I got:
- That DX10 Renderer
- Deus Exe (double check what I just typed there, it took me a second to see it lol)
- Shifter v 1.8.4 (seems to be a fanmade assortment of bugfixes, tweaks, etc)
- New Vision (new 75% complete version came out just days ago)
- Deus Ex Enhanced (higher resolution UI, text, etc, took awhile to get used too but I like it)

And the game is looking pretty epic.

But anyways, HR? I'm not going to lie, I played the leak a few months back which was literally like 80% of the game from what I heard, but I only got to the first hub world in Detroit I think? I didn't really want to spoil the experience too much, and it ran insanely bad on my computer so I probably will have to get this on consoles... BUT, I certainly played enough to say that this game is a step in the right direction compared to Invisible War (that said I honestly don't hate Invisible War at all, it was still a good game compared to what else was coming out around that time, one of the first with a good physics engine, etc). But yes, HR seems much better.

To be honest, it seems to pull a lot of influences and ideals from Robocop though, and with it being a prequel to Deus Ex, yet nano augmentations being a huge crucial thing in the storyline, I am very curious how it'll tie into the first game. Because here, augmentations are all the rage for the rich society and things like that, whereas in the first Deus Ex game it's mainly government officials who were the only ones with access to this stuff. So my guess is maybe the augmentations has a stock market crash or something like that, seriously, lol. I dunno, but hopefully it makes sense building up into the first game.

The level design was quite open just like the first game with a lot of multiple paths to take, vent shafts, things like that. And I can definitely say the game seems to lean more towards playing stealth, which is fine with me since that's how I liked playing the first two games.

Jensen's Batman voice is a bit much, but after I realized he sounds a lot like Alan Wake, I fell in love with it. Some of the voice acting and character animations while talking was a little unpolished, but oh well. Can't be perfect.

All in all I'm stoked, should be one of the best games of the year no doubt.

Yeah I played the first game when it was first released and I spent MONTHS trying to beat that game. Never did beat it as a kid but I found the game on Steam for about 10 bucks and it was hard to pass up. Played it again, and beaten it in about a week.

Never did try any of the mods though. Which is something I would like to do now to wet my appetite before the game comes out.

My vision is augmented.

Every time you replay Deus Ex it's a new experience and you'll discover new stuff. Never fails.

I had to bite my wallet a little bit and went ahead and purchased the game on Steam (Even got those cool addons for TF2 as well) and I should have it done by the time it unlocks.

Thankfully work has me working nights so it's Deus Ex in the mornings and Work at nights. Wish it was the other way around to have that awesome ambient music going on in the background while my lights are turned off. But whatever.

Also this game is getting some good reviews. Only issue is of course: Voice acting. Who would have thought?

This game is getting me angry. Which is a good thing. Bosses, for once, are a challenge!

This is my weapons

- 10mm Pistol
- Tranquilizer gun
- Some plazma gun

Spoiler!

Spoiler:
How in the hell do I kill that bitch who cloaks and is walking on water. I tried using heavy weapons that the game gives you during the fight but alas she has some kinda charge that detonates if you wait too long. Thus, I can't kill her!

I'm gonna take a break. Game pissed me off too much.

E- nevermind. Beat the boss.

Also I knew this game was going to bring Freemasons into this. I just knew it. Hilarious stuff.

E2-

This game is a Deus Ex game. No doubt about it. To me the voice acting is fine. On the PC version there is some slight hiccups in frame rate here and there. But nothing to be concerned about. I don't know about the console versions; I have heard they do suffer FPS issues. But nothing too major like the PC version.

But so far this game is incredible. There are literally so many ways to complete your mission that it's not even funny. Although you are put into a situation where you HAVE to complete the mission in it's due regards; it still somehow helps you in the final outcome. Can't spoil this. But either sometimes you don't have the stealth necessary or you don't have the money to complete missions.

However I will say this: Spend points on stealth like I did? Have fun on the bosses lmfao (it's possible. Frustrating though)

Damn. Good. Game. Hands down.

Hmm, you're the second person I've heard suggest that the wrong stat distribution can almost be game ruining, lol. My friend said he might have to start over because his build sucks or something.

He's playing it like a shooter though. That's not Deus Ex!

Classic Game Room's review does make me wanna play it as a shooter though, as ... The Terminator:

No, Robocop. You fool!

I agree that getting a big freakin gun and just gunning your way through the game is indeed fun. but if you don't have the armor upgrades then good freakin luck!

But being the big MGS nerd that I am I really love sneaking around and making people take naps. It's so much fun!

Boss fights are REDICULOUS

Dis game, it's alright. I feel like it could be a lot better, but it's still a lot of fun, addicting when I sit down and play it, and I'm definitely going to finish it.

Bosses are as you said, a total bitch. And it feels really out of place to me in Deus Ex, but oh well.

Solid game all around, but could have been better if you ask me. I'd put it on par with Invisible War (which I honestly liked). Nothing compared to the original though.

Aww, really? I personally dislike Invisible War and I was hoping that this one would be a nice throwback to the original. :/

Well, here's my detailed complaints:

- Insane lack of good and interesting side characters. Other than Jensen and the pilot, there was really nobody else in the game I legitimately liked. This is crucial, because just like the other games towards the end... you have to decide "who do I side with", but I didn't really care. Not that the endings were that great anyways and you just flip a switch to see all four of them, so you can just keep reloading a final save and see them that way (in this games defense though, the endings in the other games weren't that amazing either).
- Boss battles. Do I need to say anymore? Completely out of place in a Deus Ex game. A lot of people are very frustrated with this because if you build a stealth character early on, these bosses are going to be a pain in the ass to take down. You HAVE to fight them and they're godlike tanks. So stupid.
- Music, while good and fitting, is basically pure ambiance. It's not that memorable unlike the first games music.
- You fight zombies at the end of the game. I'll leave that up to your imagination as to WTF that could literally mean, but yeah it sucked and was very stupid. They even give you some plasma rifle at the end of the game which was pretty useless at that point.
- Side missions were very random and didn't feel impactful on the main story at all.
- Jensen's Bale Batman voice is a bit much at times. Everyone else sounds normal, but he sounds very strained and it's out of place.

Overall, the game felt more like a spinoff of Metal Gear Solid. Now I love my MGS, but that's not Deus Ex. Jensen felt like a tool lapdog throughout the entire game, unlike the original where JC ends up taking matters into his own hands and all. I dunno, the story and scope of HR just didn't feel as big, and I wasn't really engaged with the world as I was the first game, where I was reading every book, newpaper, email, and everything I could... but here, eh. Speaking of emails, the hacking minigame was alright, but 1,000+ terminals later it got pretty old, yet it was one of the only ways to rack in exp. Fairly tedious.

Still, definitely check it out. It has its moments, China looks AMAZING and like straight up Blade Runner, but yeah. I think it could have been more. I don't think the dialogue/writing compares to other games this gen like New Vegas, Mass Effect, etc.

HEY! SOME PEOPLE HAVE NOT BEATEN THE GAME YET!

FUCKING SPOILER THIS FOR ME. THANKS?

ASSHOLE

E- I take a week into lessons on SC2 and hey, I realise I have not beaten Desu Ex HR yet. AND THIS IS WHAT I SEE!?

FUCKING A.

E- Side characters? Who could forget that insanely racist character that appeared in the game? You know, that black woman? Who called you "Cap'in"? She was tight, her and I always traded Red Devil beers while she was searching in the garbage for foo- you know what she might have been memorable. But that was still kinda racist.

But I love her. Or him. Sounded like a dude. But was a woman.

What the fuck SquareEnix

AWWWWWW DAYUM CAP'N.

That's what you get for not beating it yet!

Anyways I thought what I said was ambiguous enough. They aren't zombies.

And side characters, I'm sure you're joking about Letitia (I couldn't find her), but I'm talking good recurring characters that actually matter. You know like Alex Jacobson, Dr. Reeves, Paul Denton, Walter Simmons, Bob Page, Tracer Tong, Gunther and Anna Navarra, Daedalus, Icarus, Helios, and and and...

Let's see in HR there's the pilot... and... Pritchard I guess...
