I'll admit. First and foremost. This had me dying laughing. It's nominated as the BEST musical you will ever hear. Won so many awards that it's not even funny, and you can buy the CD to listen to. But...a musical about Mormons? And it's hilarious? Now, I know we have some Mormons here and it's no shock that it's offensive. So if you are easily offended. Please, don't listen. If there was a musical about Christ (Oh wait reefer madness did this, nevermind). Anyways, I just got this from a friend of mine and we were listening to it and I never laughed so hard in my life. It's that good. I can't really explain the story but from what I do know there are two mormons (For some reason, in love with each other. But we all know that two men can't marry in the eyes of God. So they ironically "Don't" love each other) who want to go on a mission in Florida but instead get sent to Uganda. Yes. Uganda. What they teach in Uganda is where the real fun starts. I'll find something to post here: Oh, one of my favorite tracks. This is a goldmine. Iiiiiiiii have maggots in my scrooootttuuummm It's borderline horrible. But I can't stop laughing. I'm so glad Matt and Trey went back to writing musicals. Cannibal's my favorite musical. 
Looking forward to this traveling to L.A. some day, but for now all we've got is the snippet they performed for the Tonys. |
