True...well, they wasted no time with Lee. Going for Louisianna I believe? ONE good thing about these hurricanes...perhaps snow won't be nearly as bad here this year.
Snow makes me angry. |

I dunno, sitting here in heat and humidity, I miss snow right about now.
Of course, we didn't get hit by the blizzard. |

Snow brings humidity here. It's annoying. And my city shuts down. And it sucks. Because recovering depends on how fast the shit melts.
And it's personally annoying because the means to handle snow are not in my, nor my family's budget, so we're hella unprepared. |

Regarding J: I think they only had 21 names pre-set. J probably just got skipped.

J might be somewhere else. Either way, it's a man's name.
Just looked it up. J is Jose. He's a tropical storm way out in the Atlantic across from Virginia. L is Lee, and M whenever she crops up is going to be Maria. (Last edited by Rogue on 09-02-11 11:48 PM) |

Hope we get hit with another hurricane soon because we need to rise from the waters proud and say that we survived!
Again! ...and again... right? Crap we have not been hit with them as of late huh? E- I need a hurricane. Seriously. I want one to happen to me this year. They are so much fun. Sitting in the dark, winds blowing, lightning crashing just inches away from my house. Rather yet, fuck you. Have your hurricanes northern people. Fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you (Last edited by Bitmap on 09-03-11 04:27 AM) |

Is it sad that I am actually picturing you at your computer having a full tantrum like a toddler because you want a hurricane? It's pretty funny.
We got a lovely thunderstorm that had nothing to do with the hurricane, and now it's humid and that makes life suck... so I also kinda wish for another hurricane, if for the wind more than anything else... there is NO breeze at all. |

Originally posted by Elara This. It pans out quite hilariously in my mind, actually. Maybe you should make a video about it? Never had any really scary weather here, other than a few heatwaves out of nowhere and some thunder storms that would rattle everything in the house just with the noise... but they usually don't last long. |

Originally posted by Nelrith Same, actually. Well, until recently. I mean, we had two REALLY bad blizards when I was real little, and the past two years yielded a lot of snow, but yeah...until recently, we didn't get anything cool. But ultimate destruction and lots of people dying = not cool. |

Well being in the tornado hotzone we actually had a few scares in spring earlier this year. It was pretty crazy for awhile. Sirens went off several times, and it was among the worst sets of tornadoes we've had in years. One city lost thousands of people, as usual though the winds tend to break away or slip by my city for the most part but they were still touching down like 10-20 miles away from my home at one point, so it was pretty freaky.

Gosh, I feel strange not having any weather stories. Well... It's hot. Which is usual for a desert.. No heavy rain, no tornadoes, no storms... However, usually it's hottest in July.. but it came late this year. First couple days of September... and today it was 111° out! UGH. Miserable. But other than that.. Nothing. lol

People tend to call me nuts when I'm still wearing my black hoodie out in 100°+ weather...

On that note, I am so ready for summer to be over. It's been probably one of the hottest/muggiest ones we've had in years.

It's already getting unbearably cold for me at night, here in Oregon...

The humidity seems to have finally broke and it's nice and cool here... and rainy. I love this weather. It was in the 60s last night.

It's finally raining a bit on this coast, though it's still warm. So yeah, humidity.
I'm hanging around indoors for now. It's cooler here. |

Heat and humidity never bothered me too much. Yesterday was a wee bit humid, but...I dunno. The only thing that bothers me now, just like when I was REAL little, is that I seem to be growing back into asthma? Haven't seen a doctor about it yet, but the more humid it gets, the less I can breathe, my chest and arms get numb, even tingly. As an emergency I went to see if it was my heart, which will also make someone feel like this in the humidity, but other than a minor irregular beat, it's fine. So I'm thinking asthma or something like it.
I bitch EXCESSIVELY about the cold. I'm like Nel in the wearing hoodies in really hot weather kinda thing. And Oregon, at least when I was there, doesn't seem to get too humid, so I can sympathize with the really chilly nights and being a little chilly in the day. But I shiver in 60 degree weather, and it needs to be REALLY humid for me to willingly put the air conditioner on. |

Surprise rain was pretty much a fluke. It only seemed to happen while I was at a restaurant by the docks last night. Freaking kids were standing on chairs to look out the window shouting, "It's RAINING?!?!?!?!"
It just went back to being hot today when the sun came out around noon. Meh. |

So, as soon as I say there's nothing interesting about the weather, we have a huge thunderstorm. One of which I haven't seen the likes of in several years. The thunder shook the house, it was raining so hard I couldn't see out of my windshield, the lightening lit up the entire desert and it actually knocked out power for many people.
Yay for freak thunderstorms! |
