Yeah, what the hell is with everything being closed on Mondays? I never understood that.

I think it's because they figure people don't really venture out on Mondays (work, school, having spent all their money during the weekend, or other reasons supposedly keeping them home), so they figure with business lower they'll just cut having the utilities going, having to pay people to be there, etc to save money.

At first glance, I thought that that person wasn't wearing any pants at all. Goes to show you be careful of what you wear -- you never know who's going to have a camera and take a picture of you. Sadly, that image probably won't be deleted from my brain for awhile.

I got, like, mentally-challenged excited watching the latest Big Bang Theory (which I'm not that big a fan of, but I've been giving it a chance). The guys have a sword on the wall (it's meant to look like Snow's from Game of Thrones) and it's on this display plaque with a wolf and over that it says, "Winter is coming."

For some reason I got stupid giddy every time I saw it.

EDIT: Oh, and..

They're apparently filming a Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Sean Penn movie around the corner from my house: http://samaramata.tumblr.com/post/11723218081/some-little-details-i-was-able-to-capture-of-the

You know you're desensitized to people filming when you're not at all interested in what's being filmed, but rather pissed off that they're blocking off streets. I just barely got Brandon to the barber's on time.

The nerd joke thing totally just made my evening. And yeah, I got to feeling that way every time they filmed at my work. I was more excited for the catered food.

I think I finally got my jetlag under control. I didn't go to bed the night before last until noon yesterday, woke up at 6 p.m. and then went to bed around 1:30 a.m. and woke up at 5 this morning.

Michelle's baby is coming this Friday, and the family's coming in from Arizona.

On a sadder note, I can't find my keys.

In other news, I'm really bored and we just had a blackout and my friend's a jackass.

That was rather awesome. How are you online if you had a blackout? Smartphone?

So... I work at a grocery store, as I have stated before. They apparently have decided that they are going to open at 3am on Black Friday.

Anyone else as baffled as I am?

My only theory is it's to sell gift cards. Giant Eagle has this system called fuelperks where when you spend $50 at their store, you get 10 cents off per gallon at their gas stations, so gift card sales are always a big thing, especially when they offer bonus fuelperks for certain cards. They even run commercials based on it (Remodeling your home? Buy Lowes or Home Depot gift cards at Giant Eagle and save on gas while you're at it!).

Honestly, I think in cases like those... and for gifts in general, it really is a good system. People get free tanks of gas doing this shit, and in an area where people drive gas guzzling trucks because they actually need them for work on farms and crap you can imagine how popular that is. Especially because they have a counterpart system called Foodperks where for every 10 gallons of gas you buy, you earn 1% off the total of your shopping bill (up to 20% off per order). It's not as good as the Fuelperk system in my opinion, but once you hit the point where you are getting that 3% for filling your giant truck and getting the gas for free I suppose it works pretty well.

Regarding the blackout, I was posting when the electricity finally came back on. Only real problem for me outside of not having internet was that I was setting up to make soup and had to hold a lighted match to the gas on the stove since it has an electric start.

Yeah, that completely sucks, and I keep hearing more stories like it, especially regarding businesses like Best Buy. Too many people wanting to get a jump on Black Friday, which is ultimately unfair to employees and consumers alike.

Now while you have people like Brandon, his mom, and me who tend to have our Thanksgiving meal and then go hiking or something (sooooo sad I won't be in Arizona for Turkey Day ) and to people that translates as, "See? You totally could just be shopping and that proves people don't NEED the whole day!" I still call bullshit. People should have the whole day with family or at least to rest.

Anyway, more science-related cat macros. 'Cause those are fun.

At the moment, I'm watching my grandmother who keeps complaining that there's something wrong with our plumbing as the floor is all wet.

It's wet from HER URINE.

She's constantly leaking and won't change her diaper until it's literally pulling past her knees from how heavy it is, and there's no helping her change them for her.

We go through this every time she's here.

So now there's guest towels all over the bathroom floor, leading down the hallway and into her room. She never fails to grab the good ones to throw over her puddles.

In the meantime, whenever I try to do something in a room alone, she bothers me. And now that I've resigned myself to sitting in the dining room with the laptop in case she wants something or wants to talk, she's retreated into her dark bedroom to sit and stare at the wall.

I REEEEEEEEAALLLLLLY need to go walking or SOMETHING today.

Just had one of those days. My boyfriend set my dad's arm on fire and I just had to change the shredded tire on Stitch's minivan.

And of course, had a beer for Repeal Day.

Woke up with a sore throat, so did Ben. We are thinking blame goes to one of two guys at gaming on Saturday. Either way, life sucks now.

Can't leave my house. The neighborhood's on total lockdown as there's a suspect running through my neighborhood on foot. Helicopters are circling and cop cars keeping driving up and down my street.

My mom can't get into the neighborhood and my boyfriend can't leave for band practice.

This just adds to the insanely surreal week I've had so far. I mean, I took a nap and woke up in Camp Pendleton, 80 miles away, at 3 in the morning, watching a meteor shower.

Using Adobe In-Design for the first time since last summer. It almost feels foreign.

Heh, I'm on PS CS5 (which would be equivalent to 12.0). But then again, I've been using pirated software for a while now.

In-Design is sort of an old friend that I don't get excited to see very often, because it always means work. Photoshop can be tedious since I end up mass-editing pictures, but it's fun messing around with it sometimes.
