So is there anything you listen to on a loop during difficult or stressful times in your life?
I usually just bare with whatever's bothering me, but for some reason certain songs do get me in a better mood. Ah, Jeff Buckley's cover of "Hallelujah." Sadly, Buckley died, but this song lives on. I don't listen to this song frequently, but it soothes me when I do. And for some reason Queen's "Fat Bottomed Girls" makes everything better. Most things, anyway. But there isn't much it doesn't at least take the edge off. Anyone else? (Last edited by Rogue on 01-28-12 03:17 PM) |

Queen in general = HAPPY! Hehe.
I think these are two good ones that come to mind for me: This whole Titan Force album is very uplifting, lyrically and all, for metal and whatnot. One of my favorite vocalists for sure, and yeah... just powerful stuff to me. Gets me pumped! Reach for the stars. Reach for it all The power is in your hands Shouting out with victory Voices echo through the land Rebels of a new age Together we are one Pounding out the rythms Of a different song Rebels of a new age Fighting for a cause The future is in our hands This world is ours And this one is pretty important to me: |

Usually it depends on what is stressing me out, but lately the main song that I've turned to has been "I Am Made of You" by Alice Cooper. After a rather nasty argument with Ben one night I was listening to it and I was cheered up by my friends, so I tend to link the song to that and it always helps me feel better.

Step 1- Drink Alcohol
Step 2- Find someone or purchase some heavy stereo system. Surround sound preferred. Step 3- Make sure no one is around you when you pull this Step 4- Load up the heaviest fucking thing imaginable. My personal favorite is "Shitstorm" by Devin Townsend Step 5- Singing voice or not. UN-FUCKING-LOAD. Scream! Yell! UNLOAD while this song plays! Alcohol should make you feel more comfortable on doing this. But don't go too far with it! Just unload all of your anger and troubles in on this song. Lyrics: No No No I hate you Everything Everything Everything Is wrong Yeah I don't wanna fight I don't know what's even right But I'll do anything to get some fucking sleep tonight And I can't even eat And I can't even fucking piss All I've been doing is to hear the God of doom infinity Fucking kill you! Now You fucking listen to me Every one of you in my motherfucking life All I've been looking for is an excuse to feel this way And now I know Now I know I'm in control of the infinite mind And I control infinite power Every block fits Self control is something I've learned But don't think I won't do it Don't you ever forget If you want crazy If you want fucking crazy I'll show you how to be crazy Fuck Oh.. Amazed All this time I thought you wanted me to be like you You don't want me to be like you Now your sins are made Crazy Crazy Crazy Oh fuck Fuck I hate me I hate me Now Now Now I fucking hate myself Everything Everything Everything about this is fucked Now it's silence Silence Silence Oh yes Yes Yeah Love... |

As much as I love Raja and Manila, if I were to gauge who won third season based on that video, I'd say it was Alexis. Bitch is fierce.
Heh, I dig everyone's choices. Here's another one from me. First off, this is off Metallica's Load album, when they were experimenting outside of thrash metal. Secondly, I've come to find James Hetfield's voice to be very comforting (cowboys too. There's just something reassuring about the Old West and its remnants to me). This is not my favorite Metallica song -- hell, it's not even my favorite song off of Load (that would be "Until It Sleeps"), but for some reason I've found myself listening to this song in the past when I've felt shitty. So, "Mama Said": EDIT: Fuck it, just for fun here's "Until It Sleeps." I also find this song comforting, especially when you analyze the lyrics. James wrote the song when he was dealing with his parents dying from cancer, so I've just torn it apart looking for symbolism. "Tear me open, make you gone" = surgery, "wash me 'til I'm clean" = radiation treatment, "until it sleeps" = cancer going into remission, etc. My mother has been an ongoing breast cancer survivor, having had several breast lumps removed (She's actually got another one that the doctors are watching, but they're sure it's nothing). Anyway, "Until It Sleeps," one of my absolute favorite Metallica songs: (Last edited by Rogue on 02-24-12 12:56 PM) |
