So yeah, remastered Doom 3, and what's this?

"DOOM 3 was enthusiastically embraced by gamers worldwide at its release," id's technical director (and Doom co-creator) John Carmack said in today's press-release. "Today, the full experience has been enhanced and extended to be better than ever, and is delivered across all the platforms with a silky smooth frame rate and highly responsive controls. New support for 3D TVs, monitors, and head mounted displays also allows players to experience the game with more depth than ever before. We think shooter fans everywhere will love it."

So yeah, a freakin head display! Not gonna lie, that had me excited.

Only thing I didn't like about doom 3 was the expansion. But ehh, the game is going to come with some new content. And hey! It's also coming with Doom 1 and Doom 2!

Count me in the boat that liked Doom 3 for what it was, enough to say... yeah, I'm buying this.

I would be giddy about this if I had a console. Maybe it's a sign that I should finally get a 360 again?

It's coming out for PC.

PC players can buy a piece of headgear that puts you in "Immersion Doom".

Meaning you can look around and shit.

Admittedly the trailer makes the game look... exactly how I see it on my PC, and I have a sprint mod and the duct tape flashlight mod, which give the game a better experience. All that said I'm pretty interested in this for the new content alone, and I never finished the expansion... maybe I'll try to finish that this time. Hopefully it hits stores at $30 or something and not the full $60, since yeah it'd be hard for me to justify that when I think about it.

$60 would be pretty steep for a remake, but $20-$30 would be perfectly reasonable, especially if the multiplayer comes back as well.

I forget the game had multiplayer, haha. Wasn't it only up to 4 players?

Either 4 or 8, but I remember having a buttload of fun. It would be nice if the multiplayer maps were redone, made bigger, more players, hot demon chicks with exposed breasts, and had more guns.

I ran through this on the 360 a few weeks back and I'd easily say this is the definitive version of Doom 3! Even the controls somehow felt better. But yeah, the graphics polish was pretty nice and noticeable (the texture detail in Lost Mission was insane, thought I was looking at Halo 4 at times or something), topped off with infinite running and guns having the flashlight, yeah. The combat is a bit dated but I had a lot of fun running through this again and the expansions. Worth the price point it's at now I'd say.

The TEXTURES, man id have some of the best texture artists ever. It's insane how flat a lot of the architecture really is in the level design, but the massive details in the texturing makes things pop out so much and look so intricate, amazing stuff.
