Well my name has been changed on her a ton of times. From my very first simbattle character True Flight to my very favorite character and also my mascot Sorcha Rohan.

I'm not a writer though I tend to think up the plot line to a ton of stories. I'm just too lazy to write them out. i just make charts of the world and the characters in it and it turns into something that is just too big for me to focus on and sit down and write.

I originally joined this board when it was Shadow's Edge. That was when I was a freshman/softmore in high school. I don't remember the two. I've had two relationships with people on this board and grew out of them to become a "free soul." No one could keep me locked up in a relationship for ever or so I thought. I married in Nov 2009 and had a child in May 2012

I joined the army reserves in 2006. I was part of the last basic training cycle that didn't get all the "frills" of being in basic now. Translation: I was the last cycle that got beat up by drill sergeants til they fixed the rules on "fixing uniforms." I got punched in the stomach a couple times because they were testing to see if I was wearing a belt.

In 2009 I transferred from my first unit in Opelika, AL to the unit I deployed with. My deployment was kind of eye opening for me seeing that I was in a public affairs unit so I got to see all the news about Iraq up front before it even hit the radios, CNN, or even the newspapers. AND NO VP Biden was not ATTACKED. That bomb went off too far away to even be heard. Oh yeah I got to shake his hand. I made sure I washed it with purell in front of him though. Got a coin for it. That was funny.

2010 I came back home safe and sound with a mild case of PTSD. I couldn't be around large noises that I couldn't see. I got over it when I didn't have my husband with me in Maryland.

2011 I went to school to become a broadcast technician. I had to deal with stupid privates that just joined the army and "knew everything". I am hoping that within 5 years they will understand what I see and how I see it. I also got pregnant with D'arcy there too.

In 2012 I gave birth to D'arcy on May 31st. They gave me an epidural, but I felt every pain. It didn't kick in til AFTER labor.

Now I'm at home mother. Who is thinking about getting back to work too. I believe I'll finish up college and probably work at a help desk somewhere so that I can make enough to get by.

As far as personality goes, I kind of like being middle class. It gives me a feeling of being humble over just stupid with money. I love to use coupons on name brand food and save more than you get with the generic brand. I love hunting for bargains. Brings out the "gatherer" in me.

I am thinking about going out to deploy again, but I don't think my family really wants me to go when the time comes.

I also hear on my next Annual Training with my unit I will be put into the broadcast section and work as a journalist with everyone. We are supposed to cover the American Bowl in Texas this year. It really depends on if the orders come down. If not I will probably wind up going out of country to a TV Station and work with them on being a technician.

My dream now is to live a "dual spectrummed" life. I want to be that electronics soldier, but I want to really be a chef in the civilian world.

Tell me more about your sweet, little D'arcy! So you didn't feel the birthing pains until after? Was there that rush of endorphins when you held her for the first time?

Actually I felt all the labor pains and then the pain killers epidural kicked in after birth. I was also on an Ambien high when she was born because I had to induce labor and I was stuck in the hospital for two days before labor. They gave me Ambien to sleep at night. So instead of my husband coaching me it was Batman.

D'arcy is the sweetest little girl. I love her and she makes life worth living every day. I hear the pediatrician says that she is developing faster than most babies as far as motor skills.

Right now she is rolling over onto her tummy, back, and sides. When I walk away after laying her down she is facing the opposite direction.

She has my eyes, hair, and from what I hear from my mother, my attitude as a baby. She has Eric's legs, toes, and lips.

I got a ton of clothes to play dress up with including my favorites a blue trekkie uniform onesie, a green lantern onesie, and a batman onesie. My parents and in laws send dresses and toys all the time.

Tell me more about your military experiences.

You're the only board member who's done of a tour of Iraq and you've been to Saddam's palace and other places that most of us will never see with our own eyes.

My deployment was right before Operation Iraqi Freedom changed to Operation New Dawn. One of my missions was to help cover the change of command ceremony for all of Iraq. So I got to see a shift in policies.

It was pretty chill there except for all the IEDs going off at the British embassy on Wednesdays and Sundays, Catholic Mass.

My main jobs were to work with Generals and Iraqi journalists for press conferences, help the radio keep running, and other electrician oddity jobs. They graduated to running karaoke night and all MWR events and running a weekly radio show of my own after the Texas National Guard left.

It was more of a growing up experience then just a deployment. Where I was stationed was just outside the slums of Baghdad. It was weird seeing just brick buildings and what not.

I went out to Camp Victory twice. Once for the change of command and the second time on Freedom Rest. I got to check out the different palaces. Interesting fact. Where you stay in FR is the palace that Sadam made one of his daughters stay in. There's a guard tower to make sure no one came in and no one left. It's got a pool and everything.

I did get to see the House of Bathe(where the trials for Saddam were held). It was a central hubcap for NATO and all international military forces. I didn't get to go into the basement where the rafters he hung are (And they are still there from what one of the tour guides told me). HOWEVER, I got to archive footage from his trial from a previous journalist.

Most of the stuff from before Saddam's reign ended "officially" I got to see from archiving them into AFNs b roll server. There were things I didn't want to see like the children's burn clinics... If I ran into that b roll, I would walk away and take a smoke break while it was archiving or if my leadership needed me, I would go ahead and talk with them while it was archiving. I would hear things like "Do you see this?!" and I would reply back and say "I did and I don't like it."

Around the end of my deployment I ran the Army 10 Miler. What an experience. I got to ride in a Blackhawk and sit down on the back of the other chopper... Forgot what it was. XD

Right now my ambitions are to give D'arcy a comfy life until Eric is done with his college degree.

So I will be finishing up my computer information systems degree and getting a job at the Turner Broadcasting Building in Atlanta as a Broadcast Engineer. Then Eric will be going to college whilst I work. D'arcy should be old enough for Pre-K by then.

I do dream of becoming a chef at a high end restaurant in Atlanta or something.

After Eric has finished college and there is enough money. I plan on signing on at the Le Courdon Bleu in Atlanta to get certifications in cooking. From there I will hopefully get a job at an awesome restaurant. There seems to be a lot of places putting out jobs for veterans and some of them are 4 star restaurants.

I got into cooking because it's one of my favorite hobbies. That and drawing. I have learned a lot of recipes. I started off making the easy stuff. My own guacamole, Shepard's pie, casseroles. One of my favorites is Beef Wellington. It's super easy to make if you know what you are doing and can afford to make it.

I learned how to make rack of lamb and risotto. Cooking is super easy if you just read and cook like the directions say so.

Making your own recipes is fun too. One of the things I do is take cans of soup and add meats to it. I have my own tuna casserole dish too.

You can also make awesome salads with the right ingredients too. I have a favorite salad I make all the time. I make my own chipotle ranch (that's secret and very popular), romaine lettuce, sunflower seeds, avocado slices, tomatoes, carrots, jicama chopped into sticks, and pan seared chicken(when I get a grill it will be grilled chick).

As far as vegetable recipes go, I don't have any. It's simpler just to buy the steamable bags and just steam everything in the microwave. I love steamed green beans, asparagus, and broccoli.

Mmmm... lamb and risotto. If only I weren't so sick right now that the thought of food I would normally love makes me nauseous.

So... you mention having a mild case of PTSD. What makes you want to deploy again in spite of that?

Mainly the pay. The chances of meeting celebrities are really high since I met Filter and Carrie Underwood. Its also a chance to see history in person too.

As far as my ptsd case goes, the therapist I talked has considered me over it and I don't have to go to him anymore. The main catalyst was thunder and fireworks.

I love Rupaul. Personally I'm a fruit fly if you call it that. I hang out with the gay community all the time. I love the Drag Queens. They make me smile and laugh. Then I found out that there are no gay bars in my town at the moment so Rupaul's Drag Race is I all I have.

This picture was posted in 2005, described as being taken the year prior.

Were you to meet the you in the picture, what would you think about her and what would she think about you?

What was going on in her life, and how different have your views, priorities, and so on changed?

Sorry about that I was away in Columbus making rounds to see nothing but family.

Wow that picture is very VERY old.

If I were to look at her now. I would actually be okay. She was going down the road and she needed to learn things to grow up.

But she... ooh now that I think about she would be really upset with me. There are many things back then that I didn't know about. I was probably teetering on becoming a bit of a bigot back then.

The main thing I would say to her is drop Mark. She wouldn't have to go through all that bs in life.

I do regret not being able to grow up fast like the rest of the group here. Mainly because of the fact that I was stuck in my grandparent's grasp and I never got to know what the party life was like back then too. You can still be straight edge and party Past Sarah you just needed to drop Shaddow.

I would've probably stolen Eric from my exfriend earlier too.

Back in her life she was planning on having children at 35 and thought nothing of the army. This picture was taken at a Christian camp. So her beliefs were solely based on her preacher grandparents. This Sarah was coming real close to forgetting about her brother completely because he had ran away. The very next weekend she was reunited with him and forgot all about becoming a bigot. I believe if David hadn't come back from Florida she probably would've sent him a goodbye e-mail and how she thought homosexuality stole her brother away to Florida and how she would always be a straight person vote republican forever and probably go active in the military never to go to college again. She would probably say that God loves you and all to him and wish him well and cut David off completely. That's something the preachers told her back in the camp. When she came back she went to her grandparent's house on her father's side. She came home. and TA DA there he was. Her brother. All her views everything. changed. She was back to normal.

I'd say she was going down the wrong road but she found the right turns in life.

No worries.

That's interesting about your evolving views of homosexuality. I think a lot of us who grew up in heavily Christian families go through that.

Tell me more about your siblings. Didn't your sister used to post here?

My sister used to post here until the ultimate fall out with Uzu. She's with her lifemate Chris who is an awesome guy for her. Kristin(Kris for short) used to hate marriage and having her own children until she met Chris. Kris has gone through a lot of tough times because she's like a rollercoaster, up and down but never in between. Now she's finally grown up a bit and is planning on getting married to Chris with in the next three years.

My brother on the other hand has backslid now. He used to be all about everyone else until he got his degree and high paying job. David has become a guncle "gay uncle" and still hasn't visited to see his niece since May when D'arcy was born and in the hospital. I had to literally force David to hold her so that he could get a connection. D'arcy is now four months and hasn't seen her uncle since she was just a day old. David hasn't even seen Kris for about a year now. Lately he has become more self obsessed than ever. He plans on moving to Seattle if he gets a job with Amazon.

That's a great question.

I guess knowing that I made it through a lot of tough times up til now. Knowing that I can lose a ton of weight and still be healthy. Knowing that I am a healthy person emotionally and physically. Knowing that I can make it up to two years away from Eric and still come back and everything feel like the relationship was on pause. Growing up in life to make decisions and not regretting them. This country makes me proud. It's like a dysfunctional family here in this country. It's better than Iraq I'll tell you that. At least we don't bomb our republican and democratic voters because of the way they vote, we bash them. My cooking gives me a proud feeling. Cleaning an entire house on Eric's day off makes me proud and feel deserving for a bubble bath.

You know what... All in all... The LITTLE things in life make me proud.

Thank you.
