Well I got the car situation figured out, for the most part. Bought a 1995 Honda Civic EX from someone for 2 grand... not bad. Does need a little work, but they took good care of it and did quite a bit. Now gotta sell my 1996 Acura *sob* and my next job is getting a credit card and starting to build that up, it's about damn time.

But yeah super busy lately, hope I can be on more soon.

My family also recently found out that my dad's mother has liver cancer and it's not sounding too good. Hopefully she can pull through and keep going for awhile, she's still young and it's going to be tough on my dad... lost our great grandfather a few years back, and my dad's grandma is still alive, I can only imagine no parent wants to outlive their children so it's kind of heartbreaking. Keeping our fingers crossed for the best.

So I haven't really been posting, but I at least swing by several times a day.

My legs hurt. Stitch, Brandon, and I did a ridiculous hike to a former Nazi compound in the Santa Monica Mountains that involved climbing up and down over 1,100 stair steps.

What's everyone else up to these days?

Been really chaotic and busy myself lately. The whole family was sick off and on last month, along with tons of people at work. I guess KS's epidemic is among the worst right now, probably the dry air here or something... I think I got food poisoning Friday and may have finally got some kind of flu myself. Been kind of sick this weekend.

Still need to sell my old car. Guess I'll just use Pick n' Pull or some service to come pick it up.

Hope you're all better now, Xeo.

I haven't really been all that busy, except on the weekends when Brandon and I tend to hang out with Stitch.

How is it March ALREADY?!

Nothing landed in my neck of the woods, but my nieces and nephews got out of school because the city was freaking out. Supposed to be around 60 degrees or so by next Monday. Not sure if that'll stay though. But honestly? Spring isn't until the end of March anyway, and people around here are complaining that it shouldn't be cold still in March (although it HAS been unseasonably cold, I'll give them that.) but, I dunno...I'll take a cold March, and half decent April for a warm October and November. **shrugs**

Scored a paying gig as a background performer for a video. Brandon and I were college students in a prank sponsored by the Economist.

I've got a mountain of photos to edit.

Ended up catching a baby scrub jay that fell from its nest. It's not able to fly yet and I'd rather my cats didn't get to it first. I've got it in a crate with a couple of cooling trays on top like cage bars.

I intend to release it when it's able to fly.

Right now, feeding it is problematic. I bought a syringe and chicken mash (I'm too broke for the high nutrient powder). I'm not sure if it's old enough for seed yet.

UPDATE: Read up on scrubs. Apparently feathered babies will leave the nest, even though they can't fly, and their parents feed them on the ground.

Also, to keep a scrub in captivity too long and then release it could be a death sentence, because it wouldn't sound right and other scrubs would kill it.

I left the "cage" outside with the top open. The baby came out and the adult swooped at me a couple times. The baby went to the ground, and I watched for a while to make sure it was still accepted. The parents have been coming around to feed a few times in the past hour.

So in a word... woohoo!

Just going to have to make sure the cats stay inside for a few days and watch if any other cats come in our yard.

This again, in MAAAAAAAY?!!?

Not like it stuck, but what the hell? I hope we have a freaking long summer for once. This cold needs to go away forever.

The staff had an update, but my other computer blew up so I was MIA for a bit there. I built a new rig finally from scratch myself and it turned out pretty awesome! Blood Dragon on Ultra, Crysis 3 on Very High, Bioshock Infinite maxed out... so I think I did good, heh.

Half my posts here tonight probably didn't make much sense, but oh well haha. So out of it tired, can't even see straight right now... uh time for bed.

I did get an epidermal injection in my upper back / lower neck though this past Wednesday. Wasn't as bad as it might sound, but it wasn't fun either. I'm sure I posted updates around here somewhere, but yeah it turned out I have bulging discs in the C4, C5, and C6 sections of my neck. Luckily nothing is herniated and my physical therapist, doctor (with MRI results), and now this specialist all think I can make a comeback from this, it's just a lot of inflammation and I'll have to make some major lifestyle changes this year (ie exercise). Already continuing to radically change my diet, I can't remember the last time I had soda or fast food (well I did forget my lunch for work a few weeks back, so I got Arby's and there was no waiting period, when I finished that final bite I immediately felt like absolute garbage for the rest of the day. Headaches, chills, cramps, loss of energy, it was so bad I couldn't help but find some humor in it). Gonna give dropping dairy another trial soon.

It takes 72 hours for this stuff to do anything, so I'm not sure if it's hit yet or not, but yeah. Either way I hear it's mostly a temporary thing and if that's the case I'll take advantage of it and start working out again, probably gonna go with DDP yoga or something and eventually some lifting to strengthen stuff. I'm sure my posture and stuff needs a lot of work too.

Somewhere in the summer I think I'm going to consider acupuncture as well. I don't know how that stuff works at all, it sounds like DBZ magic from what I've read, but hey it's old, natural, and I'm at the point where I don't care what it takes to feel better anymore. So I'm all for it and might give it a shot in the coming weeks or so.

This has all just been an ongoing battle for like ~6 years now after this double impact car wreck I was in, knocked my alignment out of place and I went the chiropractic route. 3 chiropractors later and thousands (yes I can add this up if needed...) later, even a family friend chiropractor in there, yeah... you will never see me near those places again for the rest of my life, nor suggest anyone go there to get your mechanical structure cracked and manipulated. Complete waste of my time and everything,

But here I am now, It's good to finally be on track to feeling human again. Shots, physical therapy, then I might consider massage therapy along with acupuncture, and finally working for that flexibility and strength back myself... I think I've got my summer cut out for me.

Seems like whenever my parents go out of town, something goes wrong. In the past it's been that the family bird, Clint, died or that the refrigerator died. I can't remember anything else that was more serious, but there was almost ALWAYS something.

Anyway, this time, while they were in Canada, I fell down the stairs. Yay.

Thankfully, it was only half-way down (I had accidentally stepped on my black cat, that was asleep on one of the steps and ended up slipping) and the stairs are carpeted.

The only thing that's been hurting in my lower back and right butt cheek.

I was so sleep-deprived this weekend I felt hungover Sunday night.

There was a lot of fuckery involving not getting to sleep this Memorial Day weekend.

Friend flew in on Friday night, we had dinner around midnight.

The next day was spent taking her around L.A., among which was seeing a man who can stick his finger in his mouth and out his empty eye socket. Anyway, lots of walking. Brandon's band had a gig at 11 p.m., and I still had to bake slutty brownies for the con ops pot-luck picnic the next day. So Katie and I baked them at 2 in the morning, pulling them out of the oven around 3.

Woke up around 6 to make breakfast, and rush over to the old zoo ruins to stake out a few tables for the picnic. Did a bit of hiking and hung out and talked with people. After being in the park for several hours went home and took a nap. Came to an hour later to eat dinner with Stitch and Katie and ended up feeling like I was hungover (despite not having alcohol in my system). I just kept feeling dizzy and nauseous.

Better now that I've slept.

That's what work does to me by Thursday or so. Hate insomnia so much...

Gonna finally try to start up DDP Yoga sometime soon though, I hope the exercise can help my sleep down the road.
