Seriously, I don't care if you love or hate our president, but where do people get off blaming him for something that happened several years before his election?

I had to check several times to make sure this wasn't sourcing The Onion or the Daily Currant.

I wish that classes in critical thinking were required to graduate in high school, there are far too many morons here. Why must stupid people breed?

Because it's the only thing they are good at?

Seriously though, I am 100% with you on the critical thinking class idea. It's what you're supposed to learn in your social studies classes, but gods forbid you actually try to teach it to them.

I mean, just saying, maybe they're more unhappy with how the city has been recovering in the aftermath of Katrina? I mean, for us, sure, it was a bad thing for a few months and then the news stopped talking about it, but there were still thousands of people without homes, it is almost certainly would have taken years for New Orleans to recover from Katrina. Heck, the oil prices STILL haven't recovered since then, having only gotten worse.

Thing is, the question was worded:

Who do you think was more responsible for the poor response to Hurricane Katrina: George W.Bush or Barack Obama?

I would assume they're referring to the FEMA kerfuffle that happened in August of 2005, three years before his election (three and a half before he entered office).

I'm not saying this as a liberal (I'm a moderate who just happens to agree with the liberal side more than usual these days) or as an Obama fan (I voted Ron Paul both times during the primaries). This simply illustrates how en vogue it is, especially for the GOP, to blame Obama for everything, whether it was truly his or the government's fault or not.

Doesn't help that the next question went as such:

Would you describe yourself as very liberal, somewhat liberal, moderate, somewhat conservative, or very conservative?

Very liberal ...................................................... 3%

Somewhat liberal ............................................ 5%

Moderate ......................................................... 11%

Somewhat conservative .................................. 38%

Very conservative ........................................... 44%

I mean, the birther argument is still going, and yet no one ever brings up how McCain was born in Panama.

Or that Ted Cruz, one of the Tea Party fuckheads and a possible candidate for the next election, was born in Canada.

Legally he's also a citizen of the United States since his mother was, and I'm not objecting to his candidacy on those grounds, but come on. Let's have a little intellectual integrity here, hmm?
