Okay my jaw hurts, but I got my last two wisdom teeth removed.

This means I'll never have to deal with any of that goddamn fucking bullshit ever again. Yay!

Oh I hear you on that one. I hated getting those teeth pulled. My last one was done last January and it was the biggest relief ever!

Well, let's see. What am I happy about?

Happy to be going out out of town for Thanksgiving next week. Going to Ridgecrest (not much to see there, but oh well) to see Brandon's dad and brother. His mom will be coming into town too. So good times.

I am happy that my trip to Ireland went so well... a few hickups and a cold early on, but honestly a great experience.

I am happy that I am done with school. Yay, Master's Degree.

I am happy to be alive and with relatively minor injuries after a potentially fatal incident (see the Fuck You thread for details on that one).

I'm going to spend my 10,000th post trying to be positive.

We're still stuck in Ridgecrest with our car out of commission a couple hours away. The transmission is shot and we have no idea how we're going to pay to have it fixed. We're hoping Stitch's offer to have it towed back down to our area, using his AAA account, will work. But he has to drive up here to get us and be with the car when they do the hook-up.

Anyway, I was bitten quite severely by my boyfriend's brother's cat last night. Problem with cat bites is there's some wicked bacteria in cat mouths that causes their bites to be crazy infectious. My boyfriend's dad contracted blood poisoning after being bitten by this cat not long ago.

I washed the wounds right away, applied Neosporin, took Benadryl, and did what I could. Woke up with a completely sore hand. Ended up looking at people's posts online about having to have surgeries. Their wounds looking not even half as bad as this one.

Ended up going to the hospital out here without even two nickels to rub together. Thankfully my dad was able to call in his credit card number so I could visit the rural clinic and left work to put $100 in my bank account so I could buy the antibiotics once I got the prescription written.

I'm so grateful this was sorted out. Apparently cat bites have been rather common in Ridgecrest lately, so the nurse was so laidback about my injury which put my hypochondriac ass at ease. What's more I got a free flu shot and I've apparently lost 23 pounds since the last time I was weighed (2011, I think?).

On top of this, the meds were supposed to cost $63 and the RiteAid only charged me $37.

I'm sore, but I'm on medication.

We're stranded, but we may have a rescuer soon.

I was broke, but now I've got a little extra in my bank account just in case.

Things are shitty, but I'm looking on the bright side.

Speaking of which they have beautifully clear night skies out here and glorious sunsets that silhouette the Sierras. I've got several books I brought along from the library and Brandon's dad and brother have Netflix available.

Sucks about the cat bite, but at least you had a good experience getting it taken care of... though what the hell is with the cats in that area?

We got Ben's mom a chair today... made a little coupon to give her on Christmas but didn't all have the day off until today. It's super comfy and was about $100 less than we were expecting to pay (Speedy Furniture, you are our friend)... so yay.

It's snowing again today, and it's windy so the one road was pretty bad. There was an accident jamming traffic as we came around a turn and we slid a bit in the snow... did a soft bounce off the embankment but it was a minor annoyance... how amazing the difference is when someone doesn't grab the wheel from you. But yeah... home safe and sound now.

... and there is hockey.

Well, I had a good birthday last week.

And this past weekend was pretty good. Brandon and I wandered about L.A. visiting people's shrines to Santa Muerte, getting free burritos and seeing our favorite pirate band. Different girls grabbed me for dances since I was headbanging in the front.

The next day was spent taking my parents to different places they'd seen Huell Howser visit. Afterward we picked up some food at Trader Joe's and had a little picnic in the park. Monday, we taught Mom how to do Tim Tam slams and that was ridiculously fun.

Last night I got to see Christina for the first time in nearly a year. We gamed a bit, and it was great to be with her again.

I don't have much going in my life, but there are a few things I'm happy about.

Had a great trip up to Washington and I finally got to build memories of Seattle and Portland. The last time I was in the area I was 1, and my parents and had taken me up there for Expo '86 in Canada. That's also the last time I've been to Canada, so I'll need to get my passport renewed to one day form memories of that too.

Came back just before my mom and her best friend came back from Yellowknife, Canada. Her friend's from Australia, so we took her around before she flew home. She'll be back in July. She's a big fan of "Game of Thrones" (a massive Tyrion fan) and so we kept talking about it. ALL. THE. TIME.

Bran and I hit 10 years together. Celebrated by going whale watching. Saw a HUGE pod of dolphins and a gray whale. Then went to WonderCon and faire. Pretty tiring weekend. This coming weekend will be pretty packed too.

The next couple months may get busy with people staying at our house, particularly my cousin and her daughter, who's going to be doing a show in Hollywood in June. Sheltered Sacramento kids in the ghetto -- this'll be fun.

I still haven't been to Canada. I need to fix this.

Happy things....

Only a few more weeks until I fly out to California for the wedding/BONFIRE (can you tell which has me more excited?)

Just a few more weeks until the honeymoon cruise!

The snow appears to finally be over.

The eastern Caribbean on Carnival (hopefully no issues, lol)... if I remember right, stops are Bahamas, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, and Grand Turk. Sailing out of Miami.

I haven't sailed Carnival itself (though I've sailed on lines they own), but based on the people I see loading into the ships that dock in San Pedro, they tend to be a younger crowd with more families. It's definitely skewed toward that age group.

Probably better that way. My last cruise I was surrounded by classist senior citizens.

Well, bon voyage!

It's been an irritating day. Too crazy bad even for the "Fuck you" list.

But I guess I could be happy about the fact that this Saturday is Free Comic Book Day.

Yeah, Carnival does target the younger crowd I have noticed. Also means they have the lower rates since families tend to like to save money when possible. Win! That cruise I went on right before the move was on Carnival and I really liked it, so I am looking forward to this.

In other news, Ben's dad found us a judge. No mention of payment was made, so I don't know if we have to or not, but I don't care. I guess it pays to have a father-in-law that's a Freemason. Double win!

Happy to have taken in Free Comic Book Day yesterday, even if I only slept 2 hours before we headed out for our annual shop crawl. Best holiday ever.
