Just finished the leftovers of the homemade hamburger mac and cheese with rainbow rotini noodles for breakfast. And coffee, because I don't function without coffee.

Those slutty brownies look so yummy.

Had a caprese panini at the cafe this morning, with homemade potato chips. If only the pesto and mozzarella were at least warm, then they'd have flavor.

Yesterday, bought my friend a bag of almond flour so we could make chocolate chip pancakes. It makes a really thin batter that may as well have been crepes, but the texture was too much like (you guessed it) crushed almonds.

No sugar and I think flax meal blackberry cobbler. Runny but good. Ruined the no sugar thing by having ice cream with it though.

Made chicken gumbo. A little thin, but still good after dumping paprika into my bowl.

Hit up the farmers market this morning.

Our haul for $20:

Been eating fresh-picked honey blaze nectarines. They're soooo damn good.

Will be making goat cheese-stuffed fried squash blossoms.

Why can't we have a good farmer's market here? So not fair.

We made udon soup from scratch yesterday... I think there was too much dashi added since it was a bit strong on the fishy smell, but overall it tasted pretty good.

I tried making one of those rice cooker pancakes, but it was a miserable failure.

Been fruit grilling crazy.

Pictured are some of the peaches and nectarines I've been grilling.

I just did a green apple, putting the usual brown sugar and mint along with cinnamon this time, and while it was good, it wasn't as orgasmic as the stone fruits. I love peach/nectarine season.

Found these last night. I knew they were going to come out with cappuccino-flavored, but hadn't seen it yet. There's also mango salsa and wasabi ginger-flavored for the vote. Just grabbed these two. Bacon mac and cheese was the better of the two.

You guys got any tips on sneaking spinach into things?

Figured I could stop chopping some up to throw in my rice that I make for lunch everyday.

I was getting in broccoli practically once a day at dinner, but I've been cutting back on dinner a little lately.

Always trying to balance it out and make sure I get some fruit/veggies in once a day!

Spinach sneaks well into lots of things, especially with cheese. You could throw it in scrambled eggs, salad, soups, mac 'n' cheese, pasta, pizza, you name it and spinach can figure its way in, wilted down or not.

I've done it with pasta for great results. I love it on pizza thesedays too.

Sounds awesome for mac n' cheese.

Just made Scotch eggs for the first time. Used pork bratwurst from Trader Joe's that's been soaked in bock beer.

Had ramen in Little Osaka and then found coconut Pocky, which was AMAZING, but it melted so fucking quickly in Brandon's car.

So, I got to try all of these a day or two before they hit stores... the joys of your friend working for Frito Lay...

My breakdown:

Ruben - the taste grows on you, but the smell is god awful! My mtother-in-law loves them.
Southern Biscuits and Gravy - Ben has claimed these as his favorite. I just taste butter.
Greektown Gyro - Weird at first... but I kinda ate the whole bag. The tzatziki flavor is strong.
West Coast Truffle Fries - I honestly thought that I would hate these, but they kinda remind me of sour cream and onion. Ben says they are too vinegary... but then again, he hates sour cream and onion, so I am not surprised that he doesn't like them.
