So I saw The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug yesterday in IMAX 3D (gods how I hate 3D!) and I have to say that overall I did enjoy it... especially the titular dragon. Cumberbatch did a great voice job for this role! Didn't care much for the Tauriel/Legolas subplot after Mirkwood since it seemed rather... well... forced.

Now I have to wait another year for the last part and my box set to be announced. Fooey!

I saw "Frozen" last Friday. I liked it a lot, and not just for the two strong female characters.

Glad it won Best Animated Feature and Best Song.

Saw Winter Soldier.... it was awesome! Not sure if it beats the Avengers, but it is a very good film and I am happy that we finally get to see Black Widow being a fucking the super-spy badass that she is supposed to be!

However, it does raise a LOT of questions that are going to need addressing. So many questions.

Godzilla (see that thread for my views... it was badass)

X-Men: Days of Future Past... it essentially negates the third movie, which makes me happy. But so many fucking questions... and plot holes. I enjoyed it overall, but seriously, what the fuck man?

I wondered how they were going to mess with "Days of Future Past." I read the book a long time ago (though many of the details are hazy except for the fact that it was Kitty Pryde who went back in time to warn the X-Men and not Bishop (as in the '90s Fox cartoon) or apparently Wolverine in the new movie.

And now they're going to do "Age of Apocalypse."

Anyway, "Last Stand" was a piece of shit. Rogue was ruined in that film, and I hear the few scenes she was in were cut from the theatrical release of DOFP (was that still true?).

You see her for two seconds at the end of the film when Logan is walking through the school and you see the subtle changes of the reset (she is back with Iceman again).

Biggest plot hole that I see, besides major story changes (Sentinels getting their ability to steal powers from Mystique's DNA instead of Rogue's? I don't think so) is the very existence of Blink in DOFP. Don't get me wrong, I love Blink and I think that she was very well done in this film even though she had NO lines at all... but she is from the alternate timeline that takes place in Age of Apocalypse. That is where she comes from! So yeah... how is she even here?

I'm going to see it this weekend I think. Glad I'm hearing some good things, since a lot of others sucked (especially the Wolverine movies, damn am I sick of him even if he's got the looks/personality for it).

Oh, DOFP negates the entire Wolverine Origins movie. Still not sure how or where the most recent Wolverine movie fits in for continuity (I think it was supposed to be right before this one... which I guess is right before the shit hits the fan?)

But yeah... you know what that means? A chance for Deadpool to be done right.

Was the second Wolverine movie worthwhile?

Overall, I think so... at least as an action movie. I have just always liked his ties to Japan... though I don't think any of that plot was in the comic. Yet another reason that the reset is such a nice thing.

Saw How To Train Your Dragon 2 in 3D. I really liked it, but I still like the first one better.

I'll definitely need to see it again, if only for the fact that, in the future, I probably won't be spending the last half of the movie desperately needing to go to the bathroom.

Just watched All Is Lost, which is literally just Robert Redford lost at sea. It was actually very entertaining and I think that he and the crew did an amazing job.

The Fifth Estate, the movie about WikiLeaks with Benedict Cumberbatch as Julian Assange.

Honestly, I thought it was a fascinating movie and for a large portion of it, Assange was actually a character you were sympathetic to... but ego... wow the ego.

Guardians of the Galaxy

It was amazingly entertaining and I love, LOVE the soundtrack. I remember being kinda skeptical as to how good of a movie this was going to be when it was first announced, but I cannot put into words just how badass this was.

If you have not seen it yet, go. Drop everything that is nonessential, and go see it!

I'd just like to say that Guardians of the Galaxy is an amazing movie and that everybody except their grandmother should watch it, haha. I'm not sure if it was as good as Planet of the Apes, but it's still kind of awesome, haha

I found it entertaining. Though I will argue that Guardians was better.

Going to attempt to see Ghostbusters in theaters this week if I can. *crosses fingers*

Watched "Frozen" again with the kiddies. I still ONLY like the song "Let It Go" and my littlest ones (who are 7+ now...**cries**) actually sing the words properly, so I'm less annoyed with their sing-a-long.

I have to say though, I don't want to be surprised I liked the movie. I actually never go into something hoping to be disappointed. But I was kinda surprised because I didn't like the first half at all. I'll admit I read spoilers, but even with knowing the ultimate theme and turn-a-round of the film, I was trying very hard not to be annoyed. That is until I watched the whole movie in its entirety. I found a lot to laugh about. From the general spoilers I read I got the impression it was one whole piece that made fun of a genre as a whole. While it accomplished just that, the movie very heavily made fun of itself. Which made watching it a second time super enjoyable.

Totally saw the movie Interstellar today. It blew my mind, touched my heart, and reinvigorated my love of all things SPACE! One of the best movies I've ever seen. If you haven't seen it, stop whatever you are doing and go see the next showing. If there is an IMAX around that is showing it, go there.

I'm not even joking, this is now my favorite movie.
