| Getting nostalgic again! I was skimming around some old boards again and somehow stumbled upon the very first place I was at, the first board I registered on, Challenge Games Community back on 06-18-03! Wow haha. Hopefully the webarchive links work, but here is the almighty MasterSephiroth! How can I ever forget such a name, lol. 15 years old.
I remember my first layout was of Vash from Trigun. I think it's broken to shreds though and I can't find the layout anymore, but I found my first main avatar that always kind of stuck with me: 
My bio for an updated timeframe of my profile there was: "I am the Ultimate God of Halo! You can't even match my skills and you will weep in your own blood after i have anihilated you." *speechless* 
I also stumbled upon this gem where I first met Katana back in 2004. I wonder if this is our lost Deese? Outside of my AIM name PhantomFF7 (haha yikes), I think these are the earliest incarnations of me being registered on some websites. Looks like I made an old historical post here about some events. (They were merged) Banned 18/09/2014, due to some bullshit post I made in the Shoutbox. (check the dshack archives) I might go and attack it with a dodgy kitchen comapny when I am at it, actually. |

I guess my first real community that I was a part of online was a Ghostbusters fan group that was started by my now deceased friend, Doreen. I was 13 and writing "Extreme Ghostbusters" fan fiction and talking about it in such depth with people much older. I was also frequenting AOL chatrooms and talking all sorts of random film trivia, while of course arguing with people in the rooms until the other person eventually left. Then there were all the random IM conversations we all carried on with strangers that often got pretty adult fairly quickly. |

| I used to use MSN Messenger in around 2008-2009 but was never a proper 'fan' of IM related things.

| In terms of message boards, it was Vizzed in either 2002 or 2003... I forget which and that version of the board is long gone. But other than cutting ElaraDreamstar to just Elara, I've been mostly unchanged for the last decade or so.
In terms of earliest internet birthplaces... probably Yahoo! messenger or Neopets (don't judge me). |

Let's see, it started on AIM when I was ten or eleven, until I was banned from it by my mom for, um, well we'll call it bad behavior, haha. I used to yell at anybody who would curse about how they shouldn't. It didn't go over well, haha. Later I got into message boards, starting with I one my friend made, until I eventually found this place through a random Google search. I used to think I was such a great debater when I was twelve. |

| I'm gonna go ahead and revive this because I'm a rebel.
I grew up with a father in telecom so we had a t1 at the house when I still lived with him before the good ol parental seperation. I played a ton of command and conquer before getting hooked on Neopets with my grandmother. Then I migrated to SWG and their forums in 2003 and in 2004, I joined XGF in High School with much of the old Petaluma crew (Jexim, X Marks the Spot, FX, Shaddow Karate, DarkKnight, Darkness. etc) and promptly got myself banned for posting some stupid shit about a shiny gold spatula by Kaijin. I got unbanned, proceeded to shit post my way to victory and a post spree/onfire with Whiterose and Katana. Stuck around for awhile, got into some fights here because I was such an angsty little bastard while at the time helping to found a few GMODRP communities, such benefits as being the grandfather of bringing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SoC to the format and creating the first SRP was kind of a shit show. I'm also on Something Awful during this time and playing EVE because what else did I have to do. |

| It's tricky for me, because it depends on what we constitute as active participation in a community.
The first forum I technically registered on was Gaia Online back in 2007, around the age of 14/15. I didn't use the forums there, but they existed. I didn't get into forums until late 2010, when I was first in college. The first forum I had actual active participation in was Vizzed, where I've certainly led an interesting internet life. I've been every power level there except admin and owner. From there, I've been on other boards including Jul (where I am banned for some sort of drama that I never really got much of a chance to defend myself from, but left quietly), and even co-owned a board (Inane Cult Gamer, which is no longer accessible anywhere, I think). It's been a roller coaster, for sure. |

| Vizzed is one of the oldest still standing AB's out there for sure. I was an admin as well back in the early 2000's. Seems like anyone that's dipped into the AB world has probably been there at one point. My place has been around almost as long, but it's been through several restarts and incarnations. Was tough running boards as a teen back in the day with no money...
I only regular one other forum (racketboy) outside of here nowadays, but that's about it for me. Not that I favor the social media takeover. It's a little disappointing forums have kind of fallen down the sidelines and internet culture in general is a different world from the 2000's. |
