It appears they've hired a "Young Ned Stark." Looks like we might be seeing Robert's rebellion after all, or perhaps an explanation of Jon's heritage.

Croatia's lamenting the fact that they aren't going to be a shooting location this season, so no real King's Landing shots. They also use Croatia for Meereen and other across-the-Narrow-Sea locations.

Brandon was pointing out that they still need to return to Bran's story line. I think his scenes, since he's north of the Wall now are shot in Iceland. All the Dorne stuff is shot in Spain, and things in the North are shot in Scotland (though they switched to Northern Ireland this season due to issues with infrastructure.)

Looks like they still used Croatia for shooting, unless it's that they shot all those scenes of the harbor and such LAST season and are only now showing it to us.

Good episode. No one I cared about died.

I thought that they had been shooting in and around Belfast for some time now? But yeah... unless that is stock footage, that was definitely Croatia.

I am kinda hopeful for scenes of the rebellion and maybe Jon's heritage... I am figuring that it will be part of Bran's story since he would be able to see things from the past like that. Which would be freaking amazing.

I'm just amused how many people are losing their shit over that final scene. I guess it just didn't strike me as a mindfuck.

Spoiler:
No one's even mentioned the overthrow in Dorne.

It was kinda like "Whoa... the fuck?"

But yeah, I am kinda surprised as well that no one is talking about that other thing. It seems like WAY more of a big deal.

While it was only a table-setting episode, as most season premieres are, it still had a lot of good plot points (Sansa, etc.) Yet again I couldn't give less of a fuck about Dany's.

I have to make a special point of just not touching my fucking phone at all on Sundays.

My mom's best friend, who lives in Australia, Facebook messaged me the ending and I absent-mindedly looked at the message when the chat bubble popped up while waiting for food at a restaurant before heading home to watch it.

Was I surprised that it turned out that way? No. That was all our theory all along.

But god-fucking-damnit.

Many hugs for that spoiler. Not cool.

Next week... Tower of Joy.... will we get two fan theories confirmed in one season?

I'm particularly intrigued by a new far theory I've been hearing going around about Hodor/Wylis.

Went ahead and watched it early without Brandon since he would be getting off work at 11:30 tonight, so yeah anyone who was planning on spoiling tonight's can fuck off.

Tonight's episode definitely had its share of moments.

Spoiler:

Yeah... that one caught me off guard.

Hodor/Wylis theory you say?

The theory goes that...

Spoiler:
Wylis was a warg. Since he was a stable boy, the theory goes that maybe he warg'd into horses, particularly Lyanna's so he could be with her. The fans who follow this theory also think it's possible that he was in the horse she was riding when she was abducted, the horse was killed, and now he's braindead.

A lot of this is based on the fact that Jojen warned that if you warg too much you'll forget you're human and that since Bran is able to warg into Hodor, it's because Hodor thinks he's an animal.

Other things to back this theory is the fact that Hodor is often just a sometimes saddled conveyance for Bran and that he's afraid of thunder, as horses very often are.

Anyway, tonight's episode had some good moments, but it was another table-setter, frankly. I just don't give a fuck about Dany.

I still like her, even though I have no idea where the story is going from here... I hope they don't keep using the Unburnt thing as a one trick pony. Ha... Dothraki and ponies... sorry.

I think the theory is a bit far fetched compared to the other theories out there, but who knows.

Spoiler:
Poor Osha... that was a horrible way to go

The amount of eye-fucking Tormund was doing toward Brienne was my absolute favorite thing.

And regarding your spoiler:

Spoiler:
I unfortunately saw that coming. She'd outlived her usefulness, like Roose.

Yeah, the internet exploded with Tormund/Brienne shippers. I like the idea.

In further comment on the spoiler
Spoiler:
Perhaps you are right... but it did seem like they were trying to play up the "it's all a plot to kill Ramsay" angle... which I am assuming is part of all this, given the loyalty of House Umber to the Starks... but with Osha dead, what the hell is the plan now? It can't all have been a device for Jon to march on Winterfell!

It's dangerous to ship anyone on GoT, and I don't necessarily want to see them get together. I just love the idea that someone like Tormund would be sprung on Brienne, whom he probably would respect as a warrior. Nice to see her getting some attention.

Though Arya has always been a favorite character, Brienne has been the one with whom I more identify as the so-called big, ugly girl (her and know-it-all, mudblood Hermione ).

I really have no clue where they're going with it all, but I'm enjoying the ride. Wonder if they'll bring back Gendry, who as far as we know is still rowing.

Yeah... I think her reaction to it was the funniest thing I've seen. But I doubt it would happen.

Poor Gendry... if he was smart, he'd keep rowing all the way to the Summer Isles.

If L+R=J turns out to be true, which it seems very likely it was going to be, Melisandre's going to have a supply of king's blood.
