I *had* Ninja, but it would've taken a stupid amount of grinding to beat where I already was with Thief and Geomancer, and Ingus had far superior durability as a Dark Knight. A lot of your power is reliant on your job level.

Sages got a pretty severe nerf from the Famicom original - nInja too, to a lesser degree - and I felt that I'd be better off with the extra spells for a Devout for healing. Magic offense in the endgame is a bit weak anyway.

Final team was Thief, Devout, Geomancer, Dark Knight.

The 3D style they used worked alright for FF3, just not for 4. Different stories call for different styles.

The ATB bug won't be an issue for me, according to the FF Wikia. They say it's only in the GBA version specifically, and even if not, I don't actually turn up my battle speed, I leave it at the default and it's apparently higher speeds that cause it.

EDIT: Looks like it'll be the GBA version; PPSSPP has issues with the PSP version. European version has several bugfixes though.

I've been worked on the Uncharted Collection, since I only recently joined the Playstation crew. Its been pretty fantastic so far. I felt like the first uncharted game was pretty dated, but the second one is kind of mind blowingly awesome so far.

Horizon Zero Dawn

It's so pretty. I actually really like games where I get to be all sneaky and snipe shit with a bow, so this game is perfect for me so far. Also I love the world concept.

Breath of the Wild is amazing so far.

Also, Pathfinder campaign, involving zombies. A letter was signed Y. Jon chimed in "M, C, A", leading to the following line from me, in song:

"Let's raise the dead at the Y M C A!"

We're not running the campaign off the rails in gameplay, but we get sidetracked with jokes.

Our party is Matias Koskinen, Prinny Alchemist (me); Ilvaria Auvymtor, Drow Inquisitor; Adgus Wyrmblood, Dwarf Magus; Kellin Shan, Half-Elf Warpriest; and Kromdain Rockjaw, Dwarf Fighter.

Ilvaria and Matias are most of the party's ranged damage (I throw daggers and/or bricks, Ilvaria uses various crossbows), Kellin and Kromdain are the front-line armed with a planson and a variety of hammers respectively, and Adgus goes where he's needed.

In Final Fantasy 4, I've finished the Tower of Babel twice.

Final dungeon in progress in Final Fantasy 4 Advance - most of the big loot acquired.

Dark Bahamut would've killed me (again) if it weren't for Edward's amazing damage output. Think about that sentence for a while.

Edit: Zeromus down in what has to be the stupidest final boss strategy I've ever used. The problem: Problem: Big Bang ruined peoples' shit. Except Yang (utterly ridiculous bulk) and Rosa (great magic defense). Solution: Only leave those two up and exploit Curaja's increased power when split to two compared to five.

I love how you can't mess around with Zeromus. You should play the hard type PSX Chronicles version sometime. That said I found to be really easy to grind in the final dungeon, the old trick of killing off characters since exp was shared... so you could beef them up quicker one by one. I think I just powered up Cecil to SSJ status and managed. lol

I already have played through the Chronicles version. And the J2e translation of the SNES hard type.

I just don't like that fight. Everything else has a threat that can be mitigated. Zeromus's Black Hole spam means there are no tactics, it's essentially just a number check.

Next up is Chrono Trigger, my... second replay, I believe. Then Final Fantasy 5, re-run number ten or something like that.

Also I got one of those Buffalo SNES USB controllers recently and it's amazing. Always heard they had a good reputation and it's definitely great.

Sounds pretty cool I always use an original xbox controller to play emulated games. Here's a tutorial for windows 10 or windows vista+ 64-bit users to be able to install the drivers: https://www.s-config.com/xbcd-original-xbox-controllers-win10/

I just use a Dualshock 4 as an all-in-one emulation controller. Better dpad than X360, more buttons than SNES. I have enough to fully map any console I emulate and also have a button to spare to bring up the Retroarch menu.

Started Chrono Trigger now, have made it through the Heckran Cave so far. Chrono Trigger has more forced encounters than I remembered, and that cave is really bad about it.

I just finished Batman: A Telltale Series. It was pretty epic. The graphics weren't extraordinary (it IS Telltale) but it had a good story and some great characters to it.

I'm still working on Uncharted, but I'm throwing in some Fallout 4, because I'm behind and never played it.

I still like New Vegas the best, but Fallout 4 definitely had cooler combat finally.

Final Fantasy 5 has begun, and I'm up to the Ronka Ruins. This game's being played with the limitation of each character only using jobs from their matching Crystal - Bartz gets Wind, Lenna gets Water, etc. The three extra GBA jobs are being rolled in with the others - Oracle and Gladiator with Earth, Cannoneer with Fire. Earth would only have four otherwise, and Cannoneer is an obvious choice for Faris and also means all four crystals have six - Mime goes to Water, since that's where the crystal came from.

Edit 4-25-17: Final Fantasy 5 has finished as of a few days ago. Never actually bothered with Cannoneer or Oracle.

I've sort of been sucked into playing the "Rick & Morty" phone game "Pocket Mortys."

Pokemon, but with all the different Mortys from the infinite universes fighting each other. Addictive and a much better game than "Fallout Shelter," my phone game obsession before "Fallout 4" finally came out.

Just finished up Dishonored 2 a second time through, played back to back! I did low chaos Corvo first and then high chaos Emily. It was really cool to see the differences. Her powers seemed like she was made for high chaos... but I definitely like Corvo's blink more than her Far Reach (which basically seems like The Darkness, lol).

AHHHHH! I've been wanting to play it!! I loved the first game, though I don't think I have it in me to play at low chaos. It's just so much easier killing everyone than sneaking around.

I really can't decide which game I like more, but yeah both are some of my top favorites. I think the first game was a bit more interesting with the scenario and mysterious. 2 is more of a revenge tale in ways I guess. Emily is awesome though, I kind of feel like it's more her game than Corvo.

It continues - Earthbound now done again. Only actually finished one more game on this list before this year's run, and that's Lunar - which is a fair bit down the line.

Next up is Final Fantasy 6: Brave New World, starting in a few days.

Also, the Pathfinder campaign has continued. Our DM had us up against something that our party felt we couldn't handle - two words, lich bureaucracy. So we got paid for our initial job and got the fuck out. We're continuing our adventure elsewhere while we build up strength and resources - we just helped a gargoyle paladin take out an oversized warforged named Conquest, to stop him from summoning War.

Now we, that gargoyle, and a few of the town guard have been designated Conquest's commanders, by Conquest itself.

I remind you that the bulk of our party is morally Neutral. CN Prinny Alchemist (me), TN Half-Elf Warpriest, CN Djinn Kineticist (replaced LN Dwarf Fighter), NG Dwarf Magus, and NG Elf Wizard (replaced LN Drow Inquisitor).

So that'll be interesting.

Also, due to the way the Djinn's player set things up, he's under contract with the Alchemist, whose backstory trait is History of Heresy and is building for poisons, golemcraft, and oozecraft.

We're the heroes!

During that fight, one of the six generic NPC guards was the only generic to land a hit, and the only *person* in the entire fight to land a crit. He's now been named Jon Steelfury.
