I ran out and got them last night after watching "Spy."
This has probably been the best selection of flavors yet. I wasn't digging 2013's, and 2014's were.. gross. And I'm not even talking about cappucino (which wasn't bad). The mango salsa one just tasted like chemicals. All right, since I'm eating them all right now I'll go over my thoughts: NY Reuben: Astonishingly tastes like eating a reuben sandwich. I can taste the sauerkraut; I can taste the brine of the meat. The initial smell is sort of a trip. I like 'em, but not my favorite. West Coast Truffle Fries: The mildest of the bunch. I do get the sour cream and onion, though I'm not really tasting vinegar. Since I had truffle fries last weekend, it does actually taste like them. But then again, both are fried potatoes, so this isn't quite a stretch. Greektown Gyro: It took several chips to finally get most of the spice palate, but yeah, I finally could taste the tzatziki and gyro seasonings. It smells the least like the food it's impersonating, and first taste doesn't scream, "GYRO!!!" Still good. Southern Biscuits and Gravy: The one I was most hesitant of, especially since sausage gravy is one of my favorite things. Opened the bag and duuuuuuuuuuuuuude, it's freaking sausage gravy. My favorite breakfast food is sausage gravy atop crisp homefries, and holy shit, if this doesn't taste just like that? I can taste the savory meat and the black pepper; it's just goddamn good. Going back and forth between them, my tongue sort of goes blind from one chip to another with gyro, Reuben, and truffle fries, but biscuits and gravy continues to declare what it distinctively is. I guess they're my favorite too. (Last edited by Rogue on 07-29-15 09:23 PM) |

Yeah, the gyro chips take a bit to get going... but once they do, the taste is pretty spot on.
I also admit that the ruben one is spot on... but yeah... that smell man... wtf? |

Not ashamed to admit I got a craving for canned ravioli. Bought a giant can of Chef Boyardee and heated it up for dinner. No regrets.

Just had a lunch of dim sum with large shumai, succulent har gow, egg tarts, pork soup dumplings, steamed cha siu bao, and fried pork buns that were like hot, crispy mochi. Oh god, so good.

I will regret it shortly. |

I've been sick, and all I've been feeling like eating is a bowl of half-Honey Nut Cheerios, half-regular Cheerios.

Not going to lie, I'm not sure what the hell is in Cheerios, but they destroy my stomach.

FINALLY bought a steam basket. It's like a whole new world with so many doors at last open.
Just made Trader Joe's Thai shrimp gyoza as a breakfast snack. We have one of those giant steamers that my mom's used for Filipino food, but it takes forever just to make enough steam to cook the thing you want. With my new steam basket, I've got my food ready in nearly 10 minutes. |

I've got a pecan pie baking in the over for Pie Day. While the filling came with bourbon in it, I poured some of my Trader Vic's Macadamia Nut liqueur into it. I hope this is good.

Just had sausages, potatoes and peas for dinner. Did pour some gravy over them and it was delicious. ^^'

Steam basket, you say? Now that sounds like something I would like once I have a bigger kitchen.
I had blueberry gelato from the one local ice cream place today... so yummy! |

It was just one of these:
Problem is, since we've mostly been steaming potstickers in it, the starches are starting to mess with the metal and hinges. I'm not feeling that well, so I don't know what I'll be eating today. |

Last thing I ate were alcoholic milkshakes from the movie theater in Phoenix where we saw "Baby Driver." I had a grasshopper one and an Irish coffee one. So damn good.

My great uncle made some awesome burgers grilling today with family... he toasted the buns. Surprised I've never seen that done before!

I last had one of those microwaveable burgers, and indeed I toast the bun too with burgers as it makes a better taste in my opinion regardless what type of burger it is. Those microwaveable ones aren't good for you, but they make a decent quick snack and are pretty convenient, and they're not as bad as people make them out to be. Don't expect something of fine quality though!

Lately I've been getting some twice baked potatoes from Hyvee, with chedder and bacon. Combined with asparagus and it's delicious. Sometimes I'll have some chicken with it or crackers.

Ate at the Croatian American Hall this morning. They really did not prepare for the World Cup. $10 got us an ungodly amount of unsalted scrambled eggs and only a small bit of sausage.

I've been getting Chipotle every Monday for awhile now. Last week I tried just steak and no chicken, it was like half the flavor was gone! I'll never skip out on that chicken again haha.

I get Chipotle with the clients sometimes, but my co-workers are really hung up on the bullshit rumor that they use cats and dogs for their meat and act like we're freaks for going there.
I called out of work today, so we finally tried lining up for Howlin Ray's Chicken in L.A.'s Chinatown. It's Nashville, hot chicken style. We got there a half hour before opening and still had to stand in a nearly two-hour-long line. Their chicken's great, but it's not worth that line. Got a wing in each of the heat levels. If you get X-Hot or Howlin, you need to wear gloves and they let you know about the recovery time that you'll go through when the chicken, that spicy, is going through your system. Christ, Howlin was an EXPERIENCE. Definitely one of the hottest things I've ever eaten, and we each only ended up taking small bites. Brandon was kind of crying. |
