My home has now been hardwired. I can now have a computer in my room and go online through the connection of a DSL. XD I'm so happy!! I had to wait so long at my house to get hardwired. Now my brother thinks that he can hardwire any home. NOT!

My home is out of the DSL area, and my father is too much of a cheap ass to pay the sircharge (the $50 one time fee)

Oh well, Im almost 18, I'll be moving out soon enough, lol.

I have heard some Cable companies have gone down to $20-30 now (the usual DSL price), but yeah, I guess that kind of sucks on your part Kaijin ...

You'll love having High Speed Internet, whenever you get it.

Relish you highspeed connections knowing that there are people out there forbidden from using such connections at home...but they can't stop me at school!! Or, anywhere else I can get a wireless connection. And, when they let me use technologies I can't talk about.

But, why hardwire, when you can go wireless? Otay? Otay.

Because the fact of the matter is that my family still has no wants for wireless. XD nah. The only wireless pc in my house now is Sid the Laptop and he's only used by the only two people who can download files and install them right now. My mom and brother. How awful is that? Now I have to ask if I want to put photoshop on my computer. But guess what! When I get my compy back in my room I'm so going to get photoshop back and I'm going to be able to start up the TCG again. I'm so sorry for you all having to suffer in not getting any cards. But I'll be able to do that and get some LJ icons done as well. I'm so glad!!

x-x The depressing part of this is: T1 is my schools internet. Its going nearly as fast as my dial up -.-

Pathetic attempts to stop downloaders

Yeah, well that's how it is for most schools probably. They probably just slow down, because they're connected to so many other computers on the network.

actually no. At first we were moving at 500k a second. but because people keep downloading games, they've destroyed the downloading speed to 1.2k a second.

Makes downloading Halo a bitch.

Our school is a T1 line connected across three campuses, one of which is the university campus including all of its dormitories, and our speeds for upload/download haven't faltered too much. Maybe, it's just the safeguards that are implemented into your school systems.

I wouldn't doubt it.

SMHS (Vampiric Cow's scool) is ghetto like that.

I thought it was a T3 line.

Next year my school is going with the Internet2 using some type of Fiber backbone. Apparently the possible speeds will enable use to download a full DVD in roughly 12 seconds (quote from my Networking teacher).

Download speeds aren't too bad at my school, but the network isn't run by a bunch of idiots so they know what your doing at all times(I play a large role in running the network).

Here at home I have Verizon DSL, but I desire more....

I am one of those people with only one good computer, and only two with internet.

You'll find it's hard to get online with a seven-member family.
