These two will be debating about the War in Iraq. Cyro will agree with it, and Avatar will disagree.

Remember, post your sources.

i'm gonna take advantage that cyro hasnt said anything, and the time limit is about to expire, so i'll go and say something stupid, and possibly win by default...

But if you think about it, America is in a way keeping terrorists at bay. When we pulled out of Baghdad last year all the insurgents flooded in. There was havoc all around with bombings killings. If America left this issue alone and had no troops overseas the insurgents wouldn't have much resistance against them to carry out more terrorism acts around the world. You don't have to take my word for it. Look at the news or listen to people discussing the topic.

poo, you posted...

in response to that, when america did offically get into all this anti- terrorism stuff, it gave the insurgents an additional excuse for why they should bomb things. before they were anti-america and all that, but most of'em went along with it just for the sake of being in the group. now that american troops are attacking at them, they pretty much have no other option but to fight back. i know they were fighting and causing things before, but now, they're back against a corner with no other option. i mean if someone came to your country and tried to take you and your friends from power, you'd fight back.

It's not that the troops are attacking them. On the contrary, it's the other way around. 99% of American soldiers are sent there for one reason only: to defend. Defend the operating bases they live in, defend the Iraqi people and their country, defend Iraq's freedom. It's actually the Iraqi civilians that the insurgents are after most of the time, not the troops (but there are excetptions). If most of Iraq's citizens are killed, then the terrorists will have plenty of room to roam around and to grow their terrorist cells. This will eventually lead to them deploying to other parts of the world and causing more deaths and devastation.

i think i'd like to see your source for that stat lol...

anyways, i doesnt even matter if 99.9% of the troops are sent there to protect the ppl. as long as there are troops, and instances of battle or anything like that, propaganda will blow things out of proportion. a good example would be the boston massacre... was it a massacre? hell no, only 5 ppl died..

my point is, doesnt matter what you do with the troops, you can stack them and make a building out of'em for all the insurgants care. presence is enough to cause trouble.

besides, bush acted without approval from the UN.
