I'm just wondering if I'm saving enough, really. 
After I got my job (about 3-4 months ago), I opened a savings account, where I'm basically putting away money that's going to be drained from my own car insurrance, and gas. A pretty good example of how much I save would be this: Say I get a check for $350, I'd -probably- put in about 250 of it, and keep 100 of it for myself. So I've usually been putting in a little over half. It seems like I'm taking out a lot though, but I've got a good bit saved up now, almost a grand. So, am I saving a lot? Too much? Too little? |

| Xeogred, you just saved right amount of money. Why? Life isn't cheap so you are going to need tons of money. Why? College is too expensive, house aren't that cheap, better funiture = more money, and life isn't cheap.
The more you save up, the better you can survive in the nearest future. Don't go blowing every money you have. |

| What you're doing now is pretty good. But the question is whether you are able to continue this habit, no matter what happens. You might even go as far as reducing the amount you saved for yourself. For example, had I gotten 350, I would have saved 60 for myself and store the rest.
But as long as you are aware that saving your money is extraordinarily important, then you shall be fine. |

| I think what you are doing Xeo is good. It's about what I do and I have over $5000 in combination of checkins and savings (been about 2 yrs at my job). Sometimes if I have a few more bills to pay or something, I will add more to my deposit as well as ocasinally take out a little extra to treat myself. I just change it as it needs to be. | |||

| What you are doing now is really. I'll be putting in 100% of my next paycheck into savings though, just because it's dropped so much due to me lending people money and them not paying me back.
There is a lesson for you, don't lend people money. If you do, keep it small and get it in writing that they will pay you back. |

| Man, I suck.
I spent $101 today at Best Buy ... GC 1012 Memory Card (I seriously needed it, since I now have 20 GC games) - $29.99 Rahxephon -entire- box set (I saw this and could NOT pass it up) - $57.99 Scorpions Album (I needed it, yes) - $5.99 With tax and everything it hit about $101, which kind of shocked me ... just guess I wasn't doing the math very well when I was browsing around, but yeah. 
That's the thing with me, when money slumbers in my pocket, it doesn't sleep for very long. I buy, buy, buy, buy. Meh, I've still got about $100 in my pocket, so it's good.  (Last edited by Xeolord on 08-27-05 12:31 AM) |

| Well, if I had any shop that had to do with Japanese near my house, I'd be broke (seriously) -- and not be able to save one dime, lol. But even with the bills I pay every month, I still manage to set aside for myself about $150 to $200. Xeo, you have to admit though -- it leaves a nasty hole in your wallet after spending that much money. |

| Yeah, I just left Best Buy and was just like "Ugh, nooooo!".
But I truthfully usually don't spend that much at one time. I did plan on going in and buying a memory card 1012 for my GC, but then saw the boxset for Rahxephon for such an impressive price, and just bought a Scorpions album for the heck of it, because they rock. I'm sure there's been those times with you guys also.  |
