Azrael silently glanced at Xeios for a second, as if trying to read his mind and his motives, his dark brown eyes piercing into the eyes of the formidable hunter. He then returned his gaze onto the unusual maze that stood before him, unsure of what to expect. He was already getting a horrible feeling from an aura that seemed to escape from the great labryinth.

"No...I rather not test my limits as well as your limits in something we have no idea about. I especially do not with to test the limits of the girl. We will go around."

Azrael turned to his right. He took one last glance at the great labryinth and shook his head before advancing forth. There before him was another pathway, created by cliffs and large boulders. It looked to be an old haunted passage that led to some sort of hidden location which was perfectly camouflaged by the massive cliffs on the horizon. The courtyard was much bigger than he expected.

His steps were graceful yet careful as if expecting anything he stepped on, any slab of rock, any piece of dirt to be some kind of trap. Then, just before he could enter the passageway, he froze. Without warning, he drew both long swords, yet he did not turn around. He simply waited as if trying to hear was what coming. It was impossible to tell as of yet, but what could be known was that something was indeed approaching the three hunters.

Alby walked over to Xeios and stood beside him for a brief moment. Her thoughts fluttered a bit. She wanted to say something to him. Badly. However, her mind remained blank. She took in a deep breath and marched foreward, in the same direction as Azrael. As he drew his swords, she followed suit, drawing her own sword from it's sheath. The sword was long and slender, the blade sharp enough to slice through just about anything. It was light as well, which made it easier for Alby to maneuver.

Xeios heard Alby stop behind him, he felt her longing, but still couldn't bring himself to face her. Seeing her again, in a new light, it was if they had started all over. But his feelings for her were still as strong as the day he met her. He shook his feelings off again, no time for feelings, they would be his weakness, and death in this world. Xeios followed after Azrael, hardly noticing his violent glance. When Azrael drew his sword, the needles launched themselves from Xeios' body, and were clasped in his hands, three in each hand. Though these were the only of the thin black needles visible, there were most definitely many many more hidden under the skin. Alby would not have known this quality from before, Xeios trained himself in amny different art since he left her. And keeping in contact was nearly impossible, since he usually was training in some sort of underground area, conditioning himself in the amazing heat. He drew the three in his left hand back into his skin, wincing slightlyu, and pulled a few needles from his belt.

He looked around, and made sure that he was in as easy a position to protect Alby as possible, He cared for her too much to have her be hurt. He stood between her and Azrael, closer to her though, and constantly having at least one eye on her at all times. Actually, not one eye, two, but they were the eyes of his voodoo doll, which he could see through because of some of his training. Xeios would want to express his true feelings for her, but at this point, it was impossible, and a bad time. he could not have her get in the way of his job, but this was how it was going to be. There would be no other outcome.

*Sita stood speechless. There before her stood the man she had seeked all her life. Anger and joy both collided within her body and she began to feel a little light headed. Slowly she begins to notice that the Dante before her was not made from flesh nor blood. Yet again she was fooled. This plasma clone of Dante surely couldn't be any form that he had possessed. He had to be an illusionary apparition clearly contrived by Mundus to throw them off. Sita shook her head vigorously. Regardless if this Dante was real or not, he had to die. She at least owed her father that much......*

Tyrael didn't waste a second more. He leaped backwards, into a few suits of armor, and had them collide all around him. After he was covered, he leaped into the air, blowing armor parts everywhere, and he glided downward, at the Plasma. He held two display swords, taken from the armors, and spiraled downward at the Plasma in a Vortex style attack.

The plasma rolled away, highly amuzed, and came charging in, with Demon's Bane held to it's side. Quickly, the thing brought it upwards, slashing towards Tyrael.

He brought both display swords downward in a crossed fashion. The lefthanded blade cracked slighly, down the side, as the Demon's Bane slammed into the crossguard.

Quickly, Tyrael jumped, summersalting to the side, and slashing at Plasma in the process. He took the thing by the waste, and split it in half. Almost instantly, the legs grew a torso, and the torso grew legs, making two Dante looking Plasma. Only the one to Tyrael's left had his sword.

"Hm...."

Azrael remained in his stance, frozen like a statue in an attempt to pick up any stray sound waves into his ears. There was no doubt about it now...something was definitely coming...something...enormous. Whatever it was, it wasn't something to be toyed with. A single bead of sweat triggled down across the side of his face as he slowly began to measure up the size of the being just by listening to the kind of sound it made. It sounded like...a bird...No, not just one bird but many birds at the same time. Yet he knew there was only one being approaching them...

"Oh...shit..."

He instantaneously spun around and looked up to see a truly gigantic bird like being shooting through the air with two great pairs of wings. It resembled a massive hawk with four wings, two menacing claws, and a severely deformed head which seemed to be a combination of 4 bird heads into one...The Griffin...It's quadra-beak opened up wide, unleashing a great screech into the air before suddenly diving down towards them. As it did so, it's eyes glowed a bright red as three massive red orbs formed next to the hunters.

"Quickly! Get inside! This is too much for us to handle in this arena!"

The passageway, or rather the tunnel, was narrow enough for the hunters to quickly enter but not wide enough for the Griffin to get through. It would be there only salvation for the time being from this great monstrosity from Hell.

True looked at Tyreal. "Tyreal, I can cover for you if you need your sword that much." True smiled and took out her staff. She spun it around and the bottom of it hit the ground creating a white holy circle. She concentrated this time she is going to help.

Xeios grabbed Alby by the waist when he saw the creature, and ran. He reached the tunnel before Azrael did, and made it ten feet in before he stopped. They appeared to be safe at this point. He put Alby down, and smiled.

"Sorry, uhm...Now what? It looks only more deadly that way...But at least we're out of the open..."

Xeios let out a large breath. And looked around, this tunnel was dark, and there coudl be anything, anywhere...

Alby gasped as Xeios grabbed her and ran to the tunnel. She was thankful that it was dark, because she could feel her cheeks growing hot. She looked the opposite way of Xeios, to conceal her blush, and gazed down the tunnel.

"Sure...wither out in the open where we could be easily spotted..."

She paused as she started making her way down the tunnel. "...or trapped in a small space with nowhere to go should anything spot us here too..." she continued in a soft mumble.

Xeios notciced the gasp, and he feared he had harmed her. After gently placing her back on the ground his face showed concern, but she turned awayand made no mention of anything, so he figured she was fine. He gazed down the tunnel. This was almost as dimly lit as the past hallway, and if it is any brighter it is because of the sunlight coming in through the opening.

Xeios reached his left hand to his face and twisted his neck, cracking it as he did so. His muscles and bones were tight. This tension was getting to him, it was not easy being in such an unfriendly place...

"So, shall we go?"

But before Xeios could have expected an answer he started walking. Sliding one of the larger needles from under his skin into his hand and he moved. He cautiously looked about.

Alby looked back to see Xeios following down the tunnel. She tried to see if Azrael was close behind, but it was too dark for her to see back far enough. Assuming that he was, she continued processing through the tunnel. Her boots splashed through small puddles. It startled her at first, since that was the only sound comming from her at the moment.

Taking more careful strides, she continued making her way through the dark, running her fingers delicately across the walls. Her mind wandered as she walked aimlessly. Xeios. It was Xeios that bothered her. Something wasn't quite the same about him...

Xeios...why is it so hard to read you...have we been apart that long?

She nearly had the impulse to turn and look back at him, but shrugged it off.

Maybe he's not the one who's different...

After allowing her mind to race for a few moments, her heart felt as though it were skipping beats at a time. Not understanding the feeling, she snaped herself back into the task at hand and pushed those previous thoughts out of her mind.

Eva...we must rescue Eva.

Xeios watched Alby...The way she moved was...beautiful. He shook his head, and heard something...In front of them, but it was not Alby. This tunnel was too long...And to dark, something was the matter here. He dashed around Alby and slashed many times in a short time span. Blood, oddly colored, covered Xeios' right hand, and his eyes began glowing oddly. He was feeling the rush of combat come over him. There was no more noise...Complete silence...

"Marionettes, damn things..."

Just as Azrael managed to step inside, the orbs that the mighty Griffin had created exploded like bombs, causing the entrance of the dark dark cave to be completely sealed up by large boulders. The blast of the explosion threw him forward onto the ground, the sheaths of his swords scraping against the hard surface.

He quickly got up and batted away the dust on his clothing before quickly scanning the tunnel which he soon found to be impossible due to the obvious lack of light. He stood quietly as he heard the sound of Xeios' blade cutting through the artificial flesh of the marionettes. It seemed that all that had been hidden in the tunnel were disposed of.

Azrael reached for his handgun and fired off a single silver round in an unusual angle. The silver bullet was launched out of the gun and hit the side of the tunnel, causing it to richochet and hit the other side, and thus repeating the process. Each time it ricocheted off the walls, it created a small spark of light. The bullet repeated this process for approximately 3 yards before it finally lost its momentum and fell to the ground.

Each time a spark was made, Azrael watched carefully, scanning everything he could with what little light he had to use. He saw the body of the decapitated marionettes...there were 5 of them. There didn't seem to be anything else left in the tunnel...but then again, this was impossible ot tell for the lage passageway was too long to be revealed by his single bullet.

He shrugged and reholstered his handgun as he drew his right longsword and proceeded forward without so much as glance or talk to Alby and Xeios.

As the bullet acted as a ping-pong ball, Alby could see the marionettes lying lifelessly around her and Xeios and caught a brief glimpse of Xeios' hand. Once the bullet stopped, she looked up at Xeios. It was too dark in the tunnel to make out much, but she was standing close enough to Xeios to be able to tell that it was him. The blood on his hand made her recall moments in their childhood, the bumps and scrapes they used to get almost daily.

She took his hand and smeared the blood off with her's. Then, wiping it on his shirt, she playfully pushed him aside and brushed past him.

"You can tell my why that blood wasn't a normal color later." She mused as she continued down the path after Azrael.

True put her hands together and looked at the plasmas. Her eyes glew as she began a small mumble. Her voice was so quiet but you could hear her whispers through the violence. It was an untold language that she had learn from her holy ones. She pointed at the plasmas. "Urael!" She shouted. A fire began to grow around the plasmas and the sword was untouched. "Get your sword!"

Urael: The holy power of the angel of fire spreads amongst the object infront of her. This power is usually used for True's staff to make a torch of unending holy light to see with, but she can use it alternatively as a fire spell against the object infront of her.

Tyrael nodded his thanks as he jumped away from the Plasma holding his sword.
He leaped toward the one that didn't, and brought both blades up, digging them into it's sides. As he proceeded to glide past that one, he ripped his blade from his right hand, and lobbed it into the onther plasma, stamming it through it's chest. While still in the jump, he quickly snatched the Demon's bane front the Plasma, rolled around, and faced the two things, while resting on his left knee.

He held the Demon's Bane horizantally infront of him, and behind it lay the display sword he picked up, making a cross with the blades.

Xeios blushed. He hoped she wouldn't notice, but there seemed that there was nothing he could do about it now. He wiped the amazingly dark red blood on his shirt, giving the feel that the shirt could have been another color at one time, but had simply been stained by blood. The wound seemed to have closed already. He held a broken needle in his hand. Damn...These were hard to break. He shook his head, and tossed the needle aside. He was bringing up the rear again. How boring this was. He moved to the side, and threw one of the needles down the hallway, it whizzed past everyone else, and Xeios attuned his hearing to its sound. A light click was heard.

"The hallway is only about forty more feet deep. I think there is a large iron door at the bottom, from the sound at least..."

Xeios was right, and as the party reached the door, even less was visible behind them. Xeios looked at the door, there was something inscribed...He lifted his voodoo doll to the inscription, and the right light spread out from the eyes of the doll. The writing was visible now, and it most likely spoke eerie words to the intruders...Xeios was unable to see it, for he had to sacrifice parts of himself to activate the doll.

I'm shit out of idea on what this could say. , just something about where they are. I dunno, and if you can't think of anything, just say it's a mythic language that you can't understand...I don't know where you want to take us...

*A spray of four bullets whizz by Tyrael's ears from behind him. Pfft. Pfft. Pfft. Pfft. Each bullet lodges itself in what would be the knees of the astral beings. BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. Each round explodes obliterating the lower torsos of both of the Dantes. The Dantes grin as the mess that splattered from their legs begins to take shape into four Dantes. Sita flicks her sword and it extends into its segmented whip form instantly. She swings her arm downward, slamming the weapon on the ground. Upon impact it juts upward, striking the ceiling above. The whip cracks with the rough surface of the ceiling, making several huge slabs come crashing down on the Dantes. Dust clouds the room making visibility hard. Several moments pass before the dust settles. Sita raises her eyebrow as it appeared that she had vanquished the astral beings.*
