| Yes and no. There is as of yet no Supreme Court ruling on whether downloading music for free is illegal or not. Of course unless you download like 200 gigs of it then I doubt you will be concidered for the next round of attempted law suites for which they win half the time and lose half the time depeding on how liberal the judge is. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| It depends on who you're downloading from. But if someone say:
Buys a CD (this is a legal copy) This CD is allowed to be shared by the FCC acts both Local and International Laws so long its used as for display not for resale (remember the warning we see at the begining of VHS and DVD's?) This warning applies to CD's which can be used for recreational use into MPEG-1 audio layer 3 or Moving Picture Experts Group Layer-3 Audio (audio file format/extension) better known as MP3's So like at a public park gathering for say the 4th of july they show finding nemo we can as buyers share music thats been bought. Look it up in the Library of Congress or Copyright database. |
