Okay, here's a new discussion that I don't think has been done here yet. When you guys are studying for a test or doing homework, what you guys do? Listen to music, eat, watch TV, or do you concentrate completely on the task at hand? I doubt that many people do that last thing because I also doubt many people will have it completely silent when they're studying.

I usually have the TV on. To be quite honest though, I'd say I probably study in complete silence "most" of the times, if I'm very serious.

Being more casual and having the TV running in the background, to watch for taking breaks and stuff though, is just more relaxing.

When I do homework, I'll sometimes listen to music. I'd recommend some people try it, since it usually makes homework fly by, just don't get to into your own music.

I usually have some sort of conraption making nosie when I study or do homework. I just don't like doing it in silence, it drags the task on, and makes it kinda..."bleh".

I either hav the TV on, or listen to music.

I don't study. At least not regularly or even for big tests that might be coming up.

My brain has a few settings in place that most people don't. For one things it's come to the understanding that cramming doesn't help, because one either knows it or they don't.

Also, I can't bring myself to do something until it is vitally necessary. Ex: this past week, I had 2 midterms due within a day of eachother (take home essays). In both situations, I didn't write them until an hour or two before their due times. Even with a poster that I had to do for my English class, I didn't start until 30 minutes before I had to leave for the bus. The teacher proudly said I had the best in the class...

I am an EXTREME procrastinator.

In truth, college has been the first time that I've felt that I should study and I do feel guilty about it (never had the problem before and it never caused a problem), but even when I do sit down and start reading not only does nothing stick, but I get bored and walk away.

When it comes to doing homework, usually it's with the TV on (and that's if I do it at home and not just before class or IN class).

I don't study much either...I guess. I get a lot of written homework, and I put A LOT of time into my violin, cuz you can't just practice for an hour a day and get better...I also put a lot of time into my artwork. I have to send in portfolios and audition for a few things that will either make or break me in college.

I guess it could be called cramming, because when I do study, it's a night or two before the test...but I'm really anal about school. I can't go to college unless I do exceptionally well. So my grades are something I depend on. I've gotten so much money in scholarships so far, it's unreal...I'm actually proud of the work I've done in the past years, it's this year that's killing me as far as grades are concerned. So yes, I'm a nerd, I pay attention all day in class, and can retain the information very well...I just get really nervous when tests come up, that if I sometimes get sick...and the information gets jumbled inside my mind that I need to study...

The environment in which I study HAS to be silent. It's a petpeeve of mine. Oh, and my tummy has to be full. Teehee. I can't do anything on an empty stomach it seems. XD

The fact that I never really studied in highschool didn't help my 1.9 GPA much. But even so, now I'd have to have something going, wether it be the TV, or trance music.

Likewise. ^-^ when I do have homework I just tend to listen to music, seeing as how I don't like to watch TV.

To be honest. I don't really have to study. I fail miserably when I study for a test. As for homework, I usually have music going and the TV on.

I'm fairly the same myself.

I mean, there are many times I study, but studying for me mainly consists of taking whatever material I need to know, look over it once and maybe a 2nd time, and I'm done.

I find myself to do the same thing if I study a lot, bomb tests. Then when I don't study that much, I'll do better on tests.
